I came to this book with a pretty good understanding of psychic/intuitive abilities, how they work, how to develop them, and more. I was curious how well this book would go about explaining this ability and if it would discuss how to develop them in a clear and concise way. I was not disappointed. The book was well written and informative, and the steps that are suggested are easy enough that a beginner could easily follow. In the book, she describes the different variations of psychic abilities, how they typically manifest, and examples of each. She is very thorough in her exercises - mostly set up as meditations - complete with step-by-step instructions and questions to help you. She also states, on more than one occasion, that this requires work, as with anything, however with practice you *can* strengthen your intuition. In the final pages, she describes things that can be done to help improve your intuition as well as your surroundings that might be inhibiting the energy that is received by your psychic side.
Overall, and enjoyable and enlightening, written in a way to be a teaching aid without coming off as preachy or overly formal. I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in how intuition works, and might also be inspired enough to strengthen this ability that everyone has.

All my life I have always had ‘things’ happen to me. I had no idea what any of it was. When I was 13 I read a book that seemed to answer ALL of my questions. Until I became a mother & grew up (yes in that order). Now I occasionally read books about the metaphysical things in the world. I haven’t found many books that don’t sound like a bunch of crazy writing. This book didn’t come across as the author being crazy and/or lying. She seems authentic in wanting to help others figure things out. Her writing about things in her childhood was riveting – to me at least. It helped you connect with her and understand her through process so you could understand her way of writing. Her writing about abilities and how to hone them are interesting. People reading this book could get ideas how to hone their own abilities no matter where they come from. I don’t think this is a book for everyone – however if you are open minded and accept that some things just are you would enjoy this book.

I love this book! I'm pretty much a newbie when it comes to psychic stuff and honing your skills and all that jazz. This really helped me an dI loved how easily it worked. The exercises are simple but effective and that's something I loved. It made me feel like I could do this even though I knew hardly anything. This is wonderful for beginners, you'll get something out of it for sure! The writing is easy to follow and the author really seems to know their stuff so if this subject interests you: get this book! You won't regret it!

We all have psychic abilities, even if we don’t think we do. This book was a great introduction to the different types. There are four different types (mental, emotional, physical, spiritual) and she clearly differentiated between them all. I appreciated the author’s matter-of-fact writing style and inclusion of several examples to delineate her points. There were also many exercises included to help readers learn how to work with their intuition. In the future, I hope to read this book again at a time when I’m not so busy so I can take the content more seriously.

You are Psychic opens by defining what psychism is and identifies its different types. Underpinning these concepts are the chakras and Dillard takes the reader through a basic understanding of how they function. Later on she develops her ideas regarding the clair-types and they way that they each perform different roles. Not everyone will demonstrate every type but we all major in at least one.
Later sections of the book focus on practical exercises for strengthening psychic powers—in this regard meditation plays an important role and the author includes a number of practical exercises for the beginner and advanced student.

Took me 2 years to complete. Started and set it aside cause I was bored. I forced myself to finish, and I'm glad I did, but also, nothing much gained.
I already know a lot of it. I'm not great with remembering terms, but I also dont feel I need to in order to tap into my intuition. Tons of exercises and meditation throughout. They all felt so similar, so I don't personally feel they were all necessary. But some may find them extremely useful. I say trust yourself.
A friend highly suggested it, so I bought it, but it didn't hit me the way it hit her. Mostly neutral with my opinion. I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it either.

I have always heard everyone is psychic in some way. I have always seen things, or known things, or felt things about places, objects, and definitely people. I just never knew exactly how to put this thought, feelings, or visions to work or in a useful manor. I have told strangers about themselves, basically read them without even touching them in the past. I've gotten some pretty shocked looks by doing this. I have felt stuff by picking up an object. So I know I do have abilities, and I have them my whole life. So I have been reading books lately to rain in these abilities and to make sense of the visions, thought, and feelings.
This book is written with the beginner in mind, but does not make you feel like a beginner or an idiot.. It is written in straight forward easy to understand language. It does not give you outlandish ideas or make crazy promises to you if you read the book. It does give you tools and exercises to explore your own abilities. A lot of the things in this books I have read in other books already, but that just makes me feel like I am getting more of the right information is others are saying the same things.
This is also one of those book you read it once and keep it around for a reference in the future. Instead of discarding it.

I found You Are Psych a rather helpful book. The author does a wonderful job of balancing theory with execution. By reading the book, not only will you learn about the different kinds of gifts that humans have, you also learn exercises to help with each particular gift. The book also includes a variety of generation medication exercises for daily life and that can be utilized by anyone.
As someone who has looked into meditation for my spiritual journey (i love how the author didn't knock any religion), I look forward to trying out some of the techniques.

Psychic ability can be trained!
I accidentally trained myself in this field which was overwhelming at the beginning when I was having so much doubts about my intuition and heightened awareness.
Found some good reminders and practice recommendations which are helpful though.

4. One of the better books by a psychic with how to delineate developing the natural ability we all have. She breaks the book into easy to understand chapters of different types of psychic messages, how to clear out the noise, and how to get a handle on what type of “psychic” you may be- mentally inclined, audio inclined, etc. Many good and easy (and short) meditations are included. The audio book was well read by a professional narrator. I will order the paperback as well, to refer to.

I liked it because it kept the ideas simple and more explanatory. The writing was good and easy listen to. I finished it in a couple days in audio.

I thought this was an amazing read. I have been cultivating and working with my skills for a few years now, following podcasts like The Psychic Teachers, and reading many books, as well as meditating, etc. This book was where I wish I had started after being opened to the idea of everyone having these capabilities and wanting to personally hone them and learn to use them well. The exercises are practical, the advice is wise and grounded, and the author's tone is encouraging and natural. Seriously, she reassures you that psychic abilities are natural and a gift in a way that I had not encountered in other literature. Very thankful to have read this one and I will recommend it.

Fascinating and page turning. I seldom read non-fiction but the subject matter interested me.~ I enjoyed reading it and since it comes out next week, have already recommended it to friends I know will love it!

I really enjoyed the learning experience from this book. This book describes in full detail about the different kinds of gifts and how to step by step go about developing them. So hands on easy to understand and helpful meditations also. I highly recommend this book.
