Awakening #3
First Blood
Pregnancy isn't easy when your baby daddy is a crazy overprotective angel-vampire hybrid and there's a kidnapper on the loose.
Georgia Pearce is with child, carrying a baby destined to begin the next generation of powerful witches. As if a mysterious prophecy and a new (dysfunctional) family wasn't enough to deal with, all of Georgia's hard work to rebuild her coven is ruined when witches start vanishing.
Georgia investigates, only to find that the kidnapper has ties to her lover Zak Goodwin, and is more family than foe. He has big plans to turn the planet into heaven on earth, though his idea of heaven resembles hell more than paradise. The only one standing in his way? Georgia.
As she fights to bring this dark angel down, she dives deeper and deeper into Zak's forgotten past. The romance between them sparks and ignites, only to explode into a fire no one sees coming. Even Georgia's powers aren't enough to stop the evil that seeks to destroy her and her child. Has her magic finally met its match?

Book: First Blood
Read By: Ebook
Author: Jane Hinchey
Genre: Fantasy Romance
Recommend: Yes
Spice:🌶️️🌶️️
< b>Age recommendation: 18-30+ Years
My feelings:
Ok, so I didn't mind this series at all.
Georgia was a badass, but I did find it annoying how she had to tell everyone she could do it herself all the time.
Now Zack isn't my favourite, he isn't some strong and amazing Mc like I want him to be. It's like he is a side character to the whole book. Massive pushover to.
I like the wolf shifter better lol

As with the first two books in this series, there's plenty of action and suspense as the big bad is finally revealed. Georgia has grown on me throughout this series and I've enjoyed watching the character develop and grow as the story has progressed. With impending motherhood, she's finally reached a level of maturity. She still has quite the temper, and often acts when she should plan, but she shows just how strong she is in this final book. With more power than even she knows she has, she still has her work cut out for her and realizes that she can't do it all alone. The continuing questions about the ring and dagger are answered as well as Zac's very long past as the couple prepares for parenthood and what they hope is a happily ever after.

This is the last book in the series and I am sad it is finished. I really enjoyed it so much, I was drawn in right from the first couple of paragraphs of the first book. The ending of this last book is really exciting and has not let the series down. There is some sadness but mostly it is happy and very romantic. There is a glimpse of a possibility for some of the other characters to have their own stories if the author decides to consider it? I would love that because I think they are interesting enough to warrant having their voices heard. I wait in eager anticipation for whatever gem will be coming next.

I stayed up way past my bedtime finishing this one! What a perfect ending to the trilogy. Vampires, demons, witches, angels and Nephilim (and some hybrid’s), oh my! This book gives us lots of answers, but in a kick ass, full of action way. There is death, birth, heartache, spells and more. Don’t miss the final instalment. I'm sad to be leaving Georgia and Zak, but can't wait for the promised spin offs (and yes, please please please write a book about JB!). I am voluntarily reviewing the book First Blood by Jane Hinchey gifted to me by the author with no obligation.

2021:
2017:
Georgia is a witch-vampire hybrid and in book 3 everything comes together and also ends. I cried while reading this book, it's always an excellent sign if I cry, that shows emotional attachment with the characters in the book. The characters have come alive. I haven't yet read the first two, but so loved this book, the storyline & characters come alive and enriched the reading of it. It's a must read, I highly recommend this book.
*I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this advance reader copy and was not compensated in any way.*

This book is okay with a good plot that unfortunately isn't well written.
Frankly i'm glad i'm done with this series and I didn't enjoy this book mostly because I dislike all the baby stuff and Georgia. But if you don't mind baby stuff this book is better than the previous book in this series.

*voluntarily and honestly reviewed the ARC I received from the author*
This series is pretty cool, and I've really enjoyed Georgia's story as of late. She's pregnant in this newest installment, and after everything that she and Zak have been through, you'd think they could catch a breather or two and have easy sailing the whole way through. Wrong. Instead the stakes for keeping their baby safe have risen, and with every new discovery of Zak's past, it's beginning to look like they just may never rest. Not until the threat towards their happiness is gone for good. And Georgia won't rest until she sees it through.
I like Georgia's independence and her will to do things on her own. At times it was stubbornness that would only come to bite her on the butt when she didn't ask for help, but it was still an admirable trait. Zak had his moments, but for this book, he was back to being the rather annoying protective guy. I adored it, though at times it just seemed repetitive with the number of times Georgia kept repeating herself. It came to a point when I kept thinking, "Yeah, she's a powerful witch who could kick anyone's butt. Can you chill so she can stop repeating herself?" But that's just a personal opinion. Everything else was great (and sad, ugh the feels) and I'll definitely be continuing. It's a recommended read for me.

So the book was okay, nothing great just okay.
In this book the lead female protagonist finds out that she pregnant with her 1/2 angel 1/2 vampire boyfriend’s baby. Because somehow she converted back into being a witch to conceive… no longer drinking blood but it’s never explained if that makes her moral again.
And I’m confused how in the last book when she was stabbed with the life/death dagger it instantly killed all the witches who were connected to her magic… yet in book 1 her vampire boyfriend had it in his chest and he was technically dead that his special ring fell off. Yet all the vampires he sired didn’t die, because in this book they say if he died everyone he’s ever sired would died. I don’t know sure there could be some technicality but it just feels like a big plot hole.
The spice was good enough but the story was just kinda loosing steam. We found out her boyfriend has a half brother who’s a dark angel and he’s been behind everything from book 1 & 2 and now wants to kill her and her baby because he’s afraid of the power she contains 🤦♀️
The wolf shifter best friend had a small part in the story and honestly in disappointed he didn’t play a bigger role same with her vampire sister who still has no magic. She just seems second fiddle to her big sister and is just a lacklustre character.
Book ends with a happily ever after, personally I’m glad it over.

First Blade (#1) - Well-written, interesting characters, story draws you in, the fight scenes believable and exciting. Only complaint - sometimes the vulgar language wasn't necessary; yes, the main character has a few issues, but you're in her corner. I read this book, and First Witch, in one sitting. Get First Witch, it surpasses First Blade.
First Witch (#2) is better than First Blade, which is a good, standalone book, too. A standalone continuation from FB, just as well-written, full of interesting, believable characters - even the known and unknown enemies. Packed with fast-paced excitement and a couple of twists. I couldn't put the book down. Again, only complaint, sometimes the vulgar language wasn't necessary. It has a lot more sex than FB did.
First Blood (#3) - A fabulous ending to a fabulous series! Another well-written, intriguing novel with interesting, developed characters and a well thought out, fast paced plot with twists. Full of action and humor keeps the reader glued to the pages. Jelly Bean is a wonderful, complex character, and that was before JB was born. Compared to First Blade and First Witch, the sex and vulgar language was practically nonexistent.

First Blood (Awakening Series Book 3)
How could you not fall in love with this beautiful woman Georgia and her man Zac?!?! Their love story is epic, and one that is one that every woman, man ever dreams of in their lifetime, now add a crazy prophecy to it and then see exactly what love does to you....
In this page turner, thrill seeking book each page is an adventure, while I cried and was heartbroken in some parts, I don’t want to spoil it for you, I have to say, I couldn’t put this book down...
Definitely, recommend this series, this author is amazing with her writing... I am looking forward to reading her other series in the future, I do enjoy reading them when they are complete because I hate cliffhangers...
You don’t want to miss a great series with this one... this one is definitely spectacular, mysterious and a must read !!!!

First Blood
Awesome!!! This book is so good, there really are not any words to totally describe it. Georgia and Zak's baby, Jelly Bean, won't let them see if it is a boy or girl or the heart beat when Georgia has ultrasounds done. Zak has to wipe their minds clean and all info on the computers. They believe it is a girl so that is how they refer to the baby. If you read the book before this, you read about Georgia getting the powers of a lot of witches just before she kills the witch hunter. Their powers and memories help Georgia figure things out. I'm not telling when but I love the words that Zak and Georgia say to each other when they get married. They were perfect.
Glad that I read the authors notes so I can look forward to more stories about the people in these books.
Thank you Jane for such a well written series. Look forward to reading more of your books.

This book is choc full of action, suspense and some great twists!
I really enjoyed the fact it could be read as a stand alone book even though it is the last book in a 3 nook series as the past is touched on in a way that not too much time is spent on it but you get the picture. Georgia may be pregnant but is still a very tough and determined person and nothing is going to stop her having her baby and living happily ever after with Jelly Bean and Zak. I really enjoyed the dynamic between Zak and Georgia and how they compliment each other so you cant help but love them and root for them to prevail over evil. Definitely get comfy when you start reading as you wont want to put it down.
I was given an Advanced Reader Copy in exchange for an honest review.

A Fantasy ending to an absolute 5-star series!
Everything a reader is looking for Hinchy has provided!
One elementally and dysfunctionally challenged family - of chosen not blood - who will have you laughing, crying and overall in love with them
One evil and twisted antagonist - and when it is revealed who it is - never would have even thought possible
One tiny little jelly bean of an HEA and a few other possible HEA's in the future (hint to Jane Hinchey)
Of the series, this was quite possibly the top of the three
I look forward to spinoffs *hint hint* as I have fallen for so many of the supporting characters and would like to see how all the changes will or have affected their lives
I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book.

Totally enjoying this series and it appears Georgia and Zac will finally get their happily ever after although it is not going to be smooth sailing for this pair. Georgia has quite a few nasty demons and one very determined Nephilim after her trying to make sure her baby is never born as it will be a very powerful witch. Skye, Georgia sister is also in for some heartbreak. Zac is finding it difficult to let Georgia do her job, he loves her so much and just wants to protect her but someone has been meddling with his memories. They have also met another angel named Marcus and he may be just the extra help they need. I wish to thank Jane Hinchey for the wonderful review book. Loved it. Highly recommend this series.

Whoa... what a ride... feel like I've been through the literal wringer. Started this book at 7:00 a.m. and couldn't put it down. Finished this book at 11:00 a.m. and still have tingles going up and down my spine. What a wild ride its been with this series. Georgia and Zak have dealt with pain and loss and now everything seems like it should be smooth sailing, however, there's a small problem. An evil angel of all things is making it very hard for our two heros to live happily ever after...and that's just the beginning LOL... this was a fantastic ending to the series but hopefully with a little whining we can have more adventures from these characters. Thank you Jane Hinchey for such a wonderful (steamy) adventure!

Witches, vampires, angels, demons, birth, death, all mixed in to this last book in the trilogy. It was an enjoyable read and it wraps up the series nicely. Questions from the earlier books are resolved and the loose ends tied up. Georgia and Zak's story is complete but Jane Hinchey is thinking of writing about some of the other characters which should be interesting. If you have read First Blade and First Witch, this book will make more sense but it can be read as a standalone.
I received a copy of this book from the author but voluntarily decided to write a review and the opinions are my own.

If you haven't read the previous two books then the blurb for this and probably most reviews will give away a good bit of spoilers.
This was a sweet conclusion to the trilogy, and it was so cute seeing jelly beans personality even from the womb. I really liked how in this book Georgia wasn't wimpy anymore like the second book. She was strong, determined, and active in her own defense. Learning more about Zak's past was a great new facet too in this book. I absolutely loved this conclusion.

Since this is the third book out of a series I wasn't sure if I can start with this one and still get the story. Jane told me others did so I started and got caught in the story immediately. Georgia is a witch who's pregnant from her partner Zak, a hybrid (part angel and part vampire). When they discover that two of the witches of her coven went missing, the story begins with their search for them. They overcome demons and nephilims before they discover who's behind it all: Ronin. I won't spoil anything so I leave it open how this series ends. I can only say that I really enjoyed this book. Well done, Jane!

Eureka!!! At last the penultimate showdown between Zak/Georgia and the big bad has arrived!! Throw in a super powerful in utero baby, pregnancy hormones, a witch or two, prophecy revealed, memories returned.... and you have one amazing book! Angels and vampires and witches oh my!! If you haven't read "FIRST BLADE" and "FIRST WITCH" do NOT pass go, rewind and read them first or you will be completely lost. Trust me it's well worth reading them all!! Lots of action, spell casting, humorous quips and a little romance here and there all combine to make one heckuva finale! ENJOY!!

This is the last book in the series and am sad to see the stories of Georgia and Zak end. I Loved the nickname Jelly Bean for the baby !!! It was so adorable reading Georgia talking to the baby and the baby responding. Even though the author stated at the end of the book she has spin off stories set maybe for Rys and for Skye, I hope she has one in the simi-future where we see "Jelly Bean" grown up a little more and just how powerful the child is. I received a free copy of this book and volunteered to review it.

This is the third book in the series. A good book with a couple of twist some of the good and some bad. I always feel so soory for Georgias sister she has to endure so much. Zak is his usually overprotective self put a baby in the mix and this goes overboard.
Lots of action per usual, a bit of spell casting and funny jabs. Enjoyed this book a lot
I received an ARC and I am leaving a voluntary review, but everything I write is my own opinion.

Mixed feelings on this book as I enjoyed the entire series and Zak and Georgia's relationship throughout. First off it had a great ending to the series and seemed to answer all my questions from previous books. It also made me cry at times because the secondary characters were so well done. I enjoyed this series enough that I hated to see it end even if it was well done. I received and ARC from the author and am giving my voluntary honest review.

RATING: PG-21
SEX SCENES: VIVID RATING X
LANGUAGE: VERY MILD
FYI NOTES:
This book series has a pretty good story line. The stories read like a young adult novels..and honestly would be perfect for young adults if the Sex Scenes weren't so inappropriate...way too vivid.
VIVID
-1. producing powerful feelings or strong, clear images in the mind.

This is the conclusion to the Awakening series.
There is plenty of action with Zak and Georgia.
I haven't read the first 2 books in the series, and I strongly
recommend that you read the whole series as it will make more sense.
Hopefully there will be more spinoff books of some of the other characters.
A must read.

Fantastic ending to a powerful series!
I have followed Georgia's and Zak's tremendous love story from beginning to this wonderful last book, First Blood. Exciting plot that has remained constant through the series. A love stronger than the universe that is completed by a witchey bundle of joy.

Loved this book!!! The Awakening series is amazing!! The author pulls you right into the story. You feel like you are right right there with Georgia, Zac & the warriors. It was bittersweet I couldn’t put the book down. But now I’m done and I miss them! Definitely a must read!!! Hope there is more to come!!

Reading the final book of Zak and Georgia, I love how a lot of Zac's past comes to light. Finding out how his brother is behind everything that has come to pass was a real kicker. I would not change a thing about this book!!! Love it
