The Cutie Mark Crusaders join the school newspaper, Foal Free Press, to find out if writing might be their talent. Aligned to Common Core standards and correlated to state standards. Spotlight is a division of ABDO.
These My Little Pony books are long and have a lot of text on each page, so it’s hard for a 3 1/2 year old to stay interested. But, it’s got ponies so that seems to be the draw. The story involves the cutie crusaders as they spread gossip in the newspaper (because they think they’ll earn their cutie marks from this??). In the end, they learn a lesson.
This book requires a more extensive knowledge of journalism than most five year olds, or whatever the target age group is, would have. My daughter would read a dictionary page if you slapped some unicorns on it and this one lost even her interest.
An elementary and up picture book about three My Little Ponies wanted to be popular thus they allow the head of the school newspaper to make them into a gossip columnist. Will this turn out well for them?
this book is really perfect for kids like my grandma got this for my little sister and i read it to her and yes the story is about gossip but it lets people know its wrong to gossip about others since it can hurt someone elses feelings and that is a good thing to know. my sister is going to be going to school for the first time soon so she well know if she sees gossip that its wrong to do that.
This is the book version of an episode my daughter has watched too many times. I read the story to her word for word but then she read the story back to me based on the pictures and her recounting of the TV show. It was a great activity.
