Absolutely loved it. This book and another one from the same author - on Chinese Astrology, both became one of my favorite books on these topics. Got them both this summer, and immediately started having them as a daily support to my practice.

Even though this book is probably more suitable for experienced readers and professional practitioners and Feng Shui consultants, I still wish I had it way back in time when I first started learning about FS. It would have saved me years and could have brought me to the real, genuine, classical Feng Shui a long, long time ago.

For experienced and advanced users it is an every day FS practical bible, that can help you out with your projects, clients and consultations. It contains compacted information that can ease the practice and save you time. I found illustrations and tables very useful. It is excellent for serious FS practice.

There are Feng Shui books and there are Feng Shui ‘books’ on the market, and I read a lot of both.
At one point, I thought that no book can surprise me, but this one really did, so much that I will write a review, which I normally never do.
For the starters, this is really one big book.
It is loaded with information, and it takes time to be read.
But it definitely deserves to find its place in anyone’s Feng Shui library…

But, let’s start from the beginning…
The author introduces the subject gradually, covering some important Feng Shui basics and the energy of the ground and surroundings. Then she goes into Feng Shui practice, covering also some grey areas, which I found refreshing. Where this books certainly stands out are the chapters about Feng Shui Eight Mansions method (there was an info I could not find in any other book - or even course) and Feng Shui Flying Stars. The latest one is one really big chapter, which doesn’t lack any explanation (or table). Plus the author provided 81 Stars combination in the appendices, so the beginners will also find many shortcuts to a great practice here.
And the tables… tables are a complete story by themselves! My goodness, whatever table you might need for the practice, this book has it. Really incredible achievement for one author! No wonder that it was awarded, it really deserves it.

It contains Flying Stars charts for periods 8 and 9, tables for annual charts; tables for Feng Shui activations, Castle Gate tables for periods 8 and 9… Not to mention the chapters on Annual Flying Stars and Feng Shui activations, which I found to be particularly helpful. And yes, there is a Date Selection calendar at the end…Wow!

At some points, while I was reading it, and this lasted for a couple of months, I had an impression that I read more books than one. IMHO, this is definitely a book for practitioners, because the beginners will need a while in order to digest this Feng Shui feast. You will see by yourself, this book is literally packed with important and useful information.

Bottomline, A Course in Real Feng Shui is the book written by a serious practitioner. If I would have to compare it to other books I read, maybe Skinner’s Flying Stars, Liotta’s Feng Shui for Wealth, or Eva Wong’s Feng Shui for Practitioners would be some close matches. Except that this book contains more (I still wonder how this is even possible).

And this is the book for practitioners – or at least for those who want to become Classical Feng Shui practitioners. You’ll find everything you need for your practice here. A true gem. Warmly recommended.

PS A nice touch is a recap at the end of each chapter. I wonder why no one else did this. I found it very useful!
