This is a standalone sweet royal romance novel from best-selling author Holly Rayner. It contains a guaranteed HEA, and a tale of romance that will capture your heart.
Ok I am glad I got this book on Kindle Unlimited a free read. Prince Riffaele Caldini from Spiaggi a small Kingdom in the Mediterranean mets a Maggie Bechet, Chief and Restaurant Owner of Bien Ville. Riffaele was a foodie and after a comfortable fun date he asks Maggie to come and cater his 30th birthday dinner. Maggie goes to Spiaggi and her and Riffaele spend a week together dating. Which we must assume they had sex. But there are No sex scenes in the story just implication that they slept together. The next day she leaves for home in New Orleans. Of course she is pregnant and doesn't hear from Riffaele for near two years. They do reunite and Riffaele meets his daughter. This is one long Boring story. No spice or sexy action at all. Just long and Boring. Rifaele and Maggie do get there HEA. A very Clean Romance!! Boring but Clean if that's what you like.
This is my first Holly Rayner story. It is slow burn story with a second chance kind of story behind it. I liked Raffa and Maggie's story, there is a lot of information from the author when it comes to the food, area, and what is going on. But the base story keeps you going. I didn't skim the story although it was a lot of foodie talk, so if you're hungry while reading is warned! Lol! Not a book big on sex scenes just really the idea of them having sex. So don't read this book hoping for anything intense. But again the story and characters are solid. I voluntarily read advance readers copy for my honest review.
This story of Raffaele and Maggie is so heartwarming!!! They had so much to overcome but through it all, never gave up on each other. That is true love!!!
Maggie is a chef at her own restaurant in New Orleans and is all about work. Prince Raffaele is visiting New Orleans for a Mardi Gras party and then he has to be back home for some family things. After eating in Maggie's restaurant Raffaele asks to meet her and they hit it off. Maggie goes to the party with him and makes some contacts for her restaurant and starts to fall for Raffaele. Raffaele asks her to come to his homeland and do the food for his birthday party she agrees and is whisked away on his private plane. They continue to grow close while in his home and end up having sex. Raffaele is expected to joined his country's military for two years and its announced at his party so they know their time is limited. However Raffaele isn't about to let Maggie go he promises that they'll stay in touch while he is away. What he didn't know was that he would be expected to be out of contact with everyone while he was gone for two years. Maggie worried that he had changed his mind just as she found herself pregnant. What will Raffaele do when he finds out about Maggie and their child?
This was an amazing story with great characters. I couldn't put this down until I was at the end. This is my first book by this author and hopefully not my last. I would recommend this to anyone that loves a great love story. A five star hit.
I received a copy of this in exchange for an honest review.
ARC received for a voluntary and honest review. Maggie💃 is the owner and chef at Bienville, a fancy Creole restaurant in the French Quarter of New Orleans. When Raffaele Cardini🐺🍆🌋, a Prince👑 of the tiny Mediterranean island country of Spiaggi, visits New Orleans, and comes into her restaurant, Maggie💃 is astounded. Raffa🐺🍆🌋, the Prince👑 is really into eating great food and loves to visit fine restaurants. He wants to have a restaurant business, but his uncle, King Filippo,👑 is against it. It's not a proper Princely occupation.
Raffa👑🍆🌋 wants a family, but he wants a woman💃 of his own choosing, not a society woman👸 matched to him by the King👑. When Raffa👑🍆🌋 meets Maggie💃, he is quite taken with her, and she with him! With the pretense of having her be head chef at his 30 th 🎂birthday party back in Spiaggi, he gets her to take time off from the restaurant and come visit him! They'll be cooking up a lot more than fancy foods! YEHAW! Ride em Bareback🍆, Cowgirl!🐎🐎🐎🐎
A royal fairytale with amazing characters, a royal baby and a great HEA. Lots of drama along the way, a missing prince, a baby and some angst. . Raffa, a Mediterranean prince and Maggie met when he visited Maggie's restaurant while he is in New Orleans. He was so impressed with her cooking that he invited her to come to his country and cook for a party. A world wind romance and then he disappears for secret military duty and is unable to contact her for two years. She returns home and finds out she is pregnant. When he returns he is upset to visit New Orleans and find her restaurant no longer there. But miracles happens, he finds her and takes matters into his hands. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
A slow start. Well written book with great storyline and plot. A typical royalty romance book.
I love the couples journey towards their HEA. There is drama, family issues, passion, emotions, hot scenes, twists and lots of chemistry in this amazing story. The twists makes this story different that expected. A really sweet romance. It is written in dual POV which gives the reader much more of the thoughts and feelings of the main characters. Like that it has an epilogue.
Lots of chemistry and hot scenes. I like the main characters and how they develop. The story flows nicely and it is very captivating from first to last chapter. The author has delivered a story that is worth the read!
I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Sweet romance for one cajan chef and an out of place prince
Raffaele did not seem to fit in to the lifestyle that was bestowed upon him. He was a prince with a line to follow but he seemed to want more from the life given him. On a trip to New Orleans he finds something he never expected, Maggie. She was the sheft of the meal he sought out. He never expected to find that missing piece in one American Chef. One dream date, one dream trip, one dream night, and two years later. They find that much had changed in each others world.
This book gave me a whirlwind romance. I liked the fact that it started from a Mardi Gras. I really enjoyed how the characters love for food is so strong.
Chef Maggie Bechet & Prince Raffaele are two great people. Both with a good sense of family. Maggie is doing something that she loves. Raffaele might be jetting around. But he has a sense of family honour.
They might get separated from each other for a 2 years. Also have a surprise baby. But their love for each other is strong and amazing.
I just love this book. The way these two meet and form a bond immediately was adorable, but finding out she's pregnant at the same time he disappears must have been horrible. The description of all the food they tasted was outstanding, and showing how much they had in common with their love of food and restaurants was outstanding. I can't wait to read more! I'm voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.
Enjoyed the book. Without trying to give away anything, I love that when it was time for Raff to fufill his duty and how that all went down, that Maggie trusted what had happened. Some authors would have turned it into a big to-do and cliche issue, but it was dealt with in an adult and realistic manner. I enjoyed that. No one wants to read the cliche 'break up"/abandonment issue.
A sweet and sexy royal romance great characters and storyline I love a secret baby romance and this one was worth reading I can't wait for another book I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book.
I received this book for a voluntary, completely honest and non incentivized review. This book almost came across like a fairytale. But there was always a sense of realism within it. The characters are strong and their story is angsty, hot and sweet. An overall dreamy book.
What a delightful little love story! Holly Raynor does it again as she gifts us with a warm storyline; characters you want to know personally; some unexpected turns; and a truly beautiful HEA. This one is truly a gift! (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and loved it!) 💕
I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. LOVED IT! Maggie is a chef at a restruarnt in New Orleans. She loves her job. Raffaele is the Prince of Spiaggi. The story is great. Definitely need to read. Lots of love and surprises.
Absolutely loved this book. Extremely entertaining, captivating and very interesting sexy read. I was blown away, I could not put it down. Wonderfully written with strong characters. I want to read more from this author. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
3.75 stars Pretty good story. Usually I love unbelievable stories but I had trouble suspending reality on this one. ***I decided to review an ARC of this book.***
Not sure why I keep reading HR's books. I think it's that the ideas are interesting... but I keep forgetting she stays surface level, happily skipping any real depth to the characters or stories.
Kind of ironic since there was a lot about food in this story but it was bland. The characters were good and the storyline/plot was alright but I just found it to be bland.
