Down through the years there have been a number of sensational trials which have caught the public's attention. Trials that have altered the course of history, created new laws, caused public outrage or made heroes or villains of the people involved. The World's Greatest Trials delves back in time to retell the stories of many of the more infamous and sensational courtroom battles that have taken place. With a penetrating look behind the scenes, this book covers some of the worst crimes in history, including mass murder, high treason and scandal!
A quick read that, if I'm honest, has not aged well with its bawdy portrayals. Indeed, scandal is why we read these types of books, but -- my word! -- they're unsympathetic to women. On the plus side, there is more than just society content and these are absolutely the most interesting chapters.
A few gripping stories & all of them are real incidences. The only drawback is the stories are like movie trailers, u get interested & want to see them full but for that u need to wait for the release & go to the cinema
Excellent collection of trials which constitute some odd ones (animals on court), Nazi stories, witchcraft, etc etc. I found myself laughing at some point and at the edge of my seat from quite some time. Loved reading this!!
