My quest for answers is what’s led me here. Here, to the edge of civilization where shifters are free from persecution and able to live in peace. Or, at least they were until I arrived. In the aftermath of the trouble I brought, one man holds the answers I seek so desperately.
Whether he will part with his secrets, that’s another matter.
This world is not what I always thought it to be and someone is doing their best to kill us all; when accidents continue to happen I must consider the possibility that someone I love is setting me up. With the fate of the world at stake, I must face the demons of my past or risk being consumed by them. But this time, I’m not alone.
I'm Kit Davenport and this is going to leave a mark.
OH LORD! Thank god, yes god, that Austin is my favorite because it was about god damn time.
I honestly give zero shits about what actually happened in The Tiger's Ambush other than Austin and Kit getting it on. Seriously, it was the best thing ever because their sexual tension was so on point. It was bound to happen and I'm still a little peeved that it took three books to get this but I am happy. FUCKING ECSTATIC GUYS!
Okay, well, other than all that jazz happening .. Kit constantly finds herself in trouble. I have no idea how she does it but it just happens naturally for this girl. Which means the guys are not too far behind trying to save her fine ass. BUT, she also really cares about the guys and is coming into her powers which is cute and all but she doesn't care one bit about her own life - which is sad and annoying.
Now I know I was all about Austin and shit.. well there's Wes and I kind of feel bad for the guy. He is CONSTANTLY being cockblocked and I feel like he needs his own alone time with Kit real soon. Possibly quicker than that because we don't want him to prematurely do anything in the bedroom that could ruin shit.
Overall, I'm kind of still, not so patiently, waiting for all the guys and her to get it on - or is that just me? __________________________________________________________ OH.MY.FREAKING.GOD.GUYS!
I'm in love. I'm so in love. I GOT AUSTIN LOVE!
Geeze, I already want to reread these three books in this series and I seriously can't wait for the fourth book to be released! THANK GOD MARCH IS FREAKING CLOSE!
Okay, a ton of crap went down in The Tiger's Ambush that I can't really wrap my head around. So I completely apologize if my review doesn't do this book justice and is a complete hot mess.
Oh, and tons of spoilers guys - I'm not even going to try and hide them. Read at your own risk.
OKAY, so Kit goes through a ton of terrible shit AND still has some smutty ass sex scenes with these gorgeous ass men. UGH, I'm jealous of a book character. Besides getting tortured and falling even more in love with these guys she kind of makes stupid risks. By stupid risks, well she just goes willy nilly with her magic healing up people left and right. Now I don't care if she's saving on of the guys on the team lives.. because if she didn't I would murder someone. BUT why all these random ass people Kit?!? She knows people have been "testing" her and shit and yet she doesn't give one single crap about it and is like.. "Oh look, that person got cut.. let me heal them real quick." LIKE WHAT KIT WHY?!?!
Then the one thing I've been waiting for happened: SMUTTINESS WITH MY BABY AUSTIN! Oh god, I've been waiting for like ever because he's my favorite and I just wanted them to get together. It finally happened and I definitely did my girlish fan girl scream! I can't wait for more stuff to happen!!
Now that she's basically been with everyone (you're so close Wes!!) I'm wondering what the hell is going to happen between them. Will they all start accepting her as their girlfriend officially?!? I know it's all going through their minds but I want to read those words and talks happening!! I only got three guys so far and I want them all in!
THEN there's that god damn cliffhanger that basically mind fucked me. GOD DAMN! I was so mad because her mom just came in acting like it's a normal Wednesday. When it's actually Monday, three months later, and it's snowing in July. Trust me, I was so mad that she just casually walked into that scene. Like way to go...slow clap...mother of the year here.
I can't wait to see what Kit will think about this. I wonder what her mom is doing there and what will happen if Caleb has to keep yet another secret from her and the other guys. I need more. I can't wait these days until the next book comes out. UGH!
Overall, so freaking good. I couldn't put this book down. I love it. I need more. I totally recommend this series guys!
HOLY CANNOLI that cliffhanger!! Quick rundown: this is the third installment in a reverse harem, paranormal romance series. They cannot be read as standalones and must be read in order. The series is completed.
Okay!! So, in this book we’ve focused on the budding relationship between Kit and her harem member, Austin. Of course, we still see the relationships growing between her and the others but Austin is the one who has been such an a$$ since the beginning but yet you can’t help but root for them to finally get together. And boy do they get together, HOT HOT HOT. Even though he hasn’t acted like he wanted a romantic relationship with Kit, despite their attraction to each other, he has been completely accepting of his part as her “dionach” or guardian.
We’ve also learned exactly what Kit is and what she can do, and what her chosen are and how their bond works. We’ve found out whether or not Jonathan, Kits guardian is shady or not, well in Kits eyes anyways, but we haven’t figured out exactly what he’s up to yet. Andddd we had a character, I wasn’t expecting, show up at the end of the book to help One of Kits harem members, Caleb. I’m anxious to learn more about what all the guys can do, and see how this “war” that keeps being hinted at is gonna go down, and what’s gonna happen with this new character that popped up at the end of the book.
Our characters still have me cracking up, getting me a little hot and bothered and sitting on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happens next. I will say that Kit has made a few decisions that stupidly put her in danger, even against her guys wishes, but she owns up to it and admits she made dumb mistakes, I appreciate her owning up to it. Off to the next book I go!

2nd time reading I am loving rereading the series, it's nice to read something I know is well written and fun. Kit is a great heroine, she's smart, strong, and sarcastic. Sometimes she needs to listen to what other people are telling her instead of being so headstrong, but I think she's learning.
The guys are fun, they're all different and I enjoy their different relationships with Kit. Now we're seeing more of them change into supernatural characters and I love the abilities they have. I'm still glad I'm listening to the audiobooks for these, the narrators are really good and draw me further into the story.
***********************************************
Wow these books just get crazier! I love seeing Kit's relationship with the guys get stronger and her magic grow. And finally Austin is less of a dick lol. These books are so well paced, they have a good balance of action, smut, and cute moments. We are constantly learning more information about what Kit is, her powers, and about the guys. These are easy to fly through and so much fun. I'm excited to keep reading and find out what happens!
Damn this series, it’s so flipping good I don’t want to do anything other than finish it. Kit destroys one monster in her life only to find out about another, one whose possibly been there and in her life for a while. Ugh so much happens from confronting her past with Mr. Grey, to learning more about who and what she is. Not only is Kit changed but so are her guys and they too will have to become their true selves on their own and learn their own power not to mention finding out how their roads combine with Kits. She may start school AKA spy training but that’s the easy part. Its hard to review a book mid series without giving it away. I would still 110% recommend this series. It’s extremely well written, the storyline isn’t beyond interesting and I’m so hooked I’m contmeplating playing hooky to read more lol. The sex is hot as are the men and while Kit May use physical contact and sex to give her power, this series is more than just a boring RH where the heroine has multiple men and they just F*ck all the time. What I find even better is how from the start (book 1) I was able to differentiate all the guys and many authors struggle with giving enough detail and individuality to so many characters so early on but that did not happen here. I cannot wait to see what else this series has in store.
**2020 Review** This book was super intense but I gotta say Kit pissed me off a bit. It’s so clear more than once Kit and her men are being used and manipulated and even while being warned and knowing what’s going on Kit ignores reason and falls right into the trap. New enemies are made and alliances come unglued. The book was fairly action packed and it’s only setting the stage for what’s up next and I’m here for it.
First off, Tate James you are an evil woman!! I can’t believe that cliffhanger! *silently rocks in corner*
Okay now that I’ve gotten myself together, man that was a crazy ride! If I actually had pearls I would have been clutching them! The Tiger’s Ambush picks up where The Dragon’s Wing left off. We finally get some answers, but they lead to more questions that need to be answered. Learning about who, and what she isn’t as easy as Kit thought it would be.
We have action, steam, and betrayal all rolled into one. It’s so much that happened but I don’t want to spoil it.
also, Wesley and Austin stole my heart this book.
I loved the hell out of this book but now I’m having a complete book hangover! I have no idea what I’m supposed to do until March!
No one trusts our main character and it’s frankly annoying * update- I ended up not reading the rest of this series because of this book*
So, back in book 1 Kit is rather quickly forced to be 100% truthful to these guys about herself, her life, her secrets. They know everything there is to know about her and insist that she tells them everything. They will tackle the world together....but that isn’t believable to me when they don’t return that behavior.
All of the men have kept either major origin story secrets from her, have kept pretty large secrets that need to be worked through and not skipped over, or are currently keeping secrets from her. And yet they expect her to be an open book. I almost cried in frustration. Like seriously, I really don’t like seeing these relationships progress when they REFUSE (literally refuse to tell her things) to be truthful and trust her. It drives me so crazy. It’s painful to read. We are on book three and we know practically nothing about most of the boys, there are 2 who actively keeping knowledge from her. Like boys, knowledge is power and you are keeping her in the dark?
I dunno if this is the authors way of creating drama or tension or furthering the plot but it really isn’t doing our characters any justice. Do I believe that normal person would love a man who lies to her face and she knows it? To I think she would just let it go for weeks, trusting her life, mind and body to them without requesting that in return? Are they going to be *mysterious alpha males* forever? If you want to use these secrets as future plots, don’t further their relationship because it’s just painful to watch her blindly, stupidly, and idiotically just let this all slide.
She isn’t strong, she doesn’t have any backbone, and they guys walk all over her (subconsciously due to the fact they expect everything from her but don’t give anything in return- be it for her safety *cliche*, or their ego *boring* and think it’s irrelevant * never is*).
I’ve read some pretty amazing books that use the open honesty to create some really amazing storylines for the characters to tackle cleverly together. This is just tiring, dealing with each boys secrets that lure her into a stupid situation. Yawn, done before.
I seriously want to like this series. There are moments are great writing, or potential storylines. But I seriously cannot read another page if she just lets her male protagonists be ridiculous and our main character a flat idiot for letting herself be at such a disadvantage. She even calls them out on it and all they say is “I know.” Haha like what? Beyond annoying. I hope every single one of them comes clean in the next book because this is really not sitting well in my gut.
Kit was about to be on my last nerve. Constantly putting herself in danger by healing all these people that just so happen to have fatal injuries around her… it was so CLEARLY a set up. Even her guys tried to warn her. But she was so stubborn and convinced she needed to be a savior, and boy did it bite her in the ass. I was rolling my eyes at her antics so hard. BUT I’m still enjoying the series. These are on the shorter side and just so easy to binge, I’m flying through them. This slooooow burn with Austin is delicious. So exciting that things are heating up there. And Wes is just an absolute sweetheart, I just want to protect him!! My jaw was on the floor with that cliffy!!! I can’t wait to see what happens next

Kit learns a little more about who/what she is as well as the connection she has with the guys.
If I didn't already own the next book I don't think I would continue this series. Which is a bummer because I thought the first book was great and was hoping for a strong series. In the previous 2 books Kit is tough and independent...but also smart, and the guys were a super badass spy team. But as they all get closer to each other they seem to be leaking brainpower. They all just knowingly ran around doing obviously dumb things that could potentially put themselves and the rest of the group in serious danger. And then this group that was probably way to close and thrived on TMI just started keeping secrets and lying to each other. So now that things are getting super dangerous lets act less like a team and more like a bunch of dumb jerks.
This was not my favorite installment of this series. Kit hasn't grown much since the first book. Lots of coffee and sarcasm, but not much else. I'm hoping for more in book 4.
I know I've said it before but I love this series.
At one point, I was a little mad at Kit for being a little foolish whenever someone got hurt (outside of their group). She always was in a hurry to put all her strength and magic into that person without really thinking about the consequences (is she in public? is that person going to turn on her? etc.) Even when the guys warned her, she didn't really care. And I get it. I mean, being able to heal people is really helpful but sometimes you have to see the big picture as well and be a little more careful.
Anyway, enough rambling.
What I loved in this book : AUSTIN. AHHH It was so good :D. I love her interactions with all the guys of course, but I felt like we finally got what we were hoping for awhile now and I'm giddy.
So yeah, except that short moment where I was annoyed with our MC, this book was great overall. And I'm so fucking glad she finally
My name is Andrea and yes I did binge this book within two nights. No I haven't started the fourth one because I need to exert some self-control.
The Tiger's Ambush picks up right after The Dragon's Wing and we FINALLY get answers about wtf Kit exactly is. Which was wonderful!! But I was also angry, because we definitely did not get enough answers in the beginning before the gang is fleeing the Alaskan town. As Kit and the guys settle back in at home, two more of the guys are almost killed and several accidents befall fellow classmates of Kit's.
I loved the deepening relationship between Kit & the guys. I am such a goner for all of them, even Austin, it is ridiculous. Speaking of Austin, .
We also get to see all the guys, Kit & Lucy work together on some spy shit! Well maybe thief shit is more accurate, but omg I loved it. It's such a great team chemistry and Lucy is my fucking spirit animal. I love how she says one thing and forces Kit to work through her own awkwardness.
I'm not sure that Kit should've walked away like she did in the end. There's a lot of tension brewing in the supernatural world and she has close to zero answers and zero allies besides the guys. She's going to need all the help she can get.
Kit is finally getting some answers. However, some things are better left unknown. It's a good thing she's got some super hot guys to help her deal with all the revelations coming her way. She's going to need them all.
We pick right back up where we left off in book two with Vic coming home. He answers a few questions but something is holding him back from answering them all. We do get to find out what exactly Kit is in this book. Yay!! That leads to a lot more questions though. So the gang heads back to OMEGA to start Kit's training while they try and figure out all the answers. She can't seem to focus on training when there's so many accidents happening around her. Can it really be a coincidence that people keep getting hurt or is someone testing her?
We get to spend a lot more time with the guys. Some have been keeping secrets though. Naughty naughty! I have to say that while Vali may be my personal favorite, I LOVED the Austin and Wes time we got in this book.
You know how sometimes a series starts off really great and then the books start to drift off as you get into the series? Well that is definitely NOT the case with the Kit Davenport series. Book three is just as good, if not better, than book one. We still have a ton of action, suspense, hot steamy yummy goodness with the guys, and some heartbreaking moments that make you want to just scream! And I think by now we all know Tate is good for an ending that will just leave you like OMG I NEED MORE NOW!!!!!!!! So here's your warning for this book. DO NOT start reading this until you are somewhere that you can focus on this book and not have any distractions. You will want to read it cover to cover and may harm someone for interrupting.
Aaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwww, Pout, whine, pout March is soo far away! Honestly I haven’t loved an RH or series like this outside of Amy Sumida’s three series and it took me a while to come to love her second one the “Twilight Court” series, love the “godhunter” but it was soo dark at times, Kit’s messed up world is all sweetness and light compared, soo yeah I skimmed when our awesome Kit got in the trouble I unfortunately saw coming,it’s always painful to to see your h hurt but especially when she is as awesome is Kit is... Seriously I don’t often like my h’s that often, usually their too vain or too stupid or selfish or pigheaded or sadly even too often too much of a self absorbed TSTL idiot to barely tolerate to even finish the book at times or she might seem cool but is such a panty wetting doormat you just can’t respect her... But Kit ,Kit is the kinda heroine you dream about the type of heroine I want to write if I ever get my shite together and do it ,if I’m honest ... She owns who she is and is pretty good at owning who she isn’t and is self aware and honest but not perfect ( because come on , perfection doesn’t exist, though for me this series is pretty damn close) I love that she’s learning and evolving ,just as the guys are as the all seem to be learning from their mistakes and set backs and Kit seems for the most part, for the most part I’d say to know she isn’t invincible and knows when to lean on others ... Though I say for the most part, I mean while Kit is pretty dam smart and rather kick ass, if I were here and I’d been thru 1/2 the study she’d suffered and survived I’d always at least one of my men at my side ... I mean come on, you can be a true badass all day but after being kidnapped and beaten and tortured even once ,much less multiple times once not far ,just supposedly within yelling range of my men and I’m kidnapped (last book) and taken to be sold to the highest bidder like a cow at auction ? You better believe I’m gonna have at least one person to have my back, you never know what others might be planning might be able to do to you...I could be a shapeshifting, elemental with super strength and the ability to teleport ( yeah, I’ve thought about it) an my enemies could still find away to get the jump on me, there shouldn’t be any shame in making sure your well protected at all times , I mean surely there’s a reason Kit has “chosen” /ended up with 6 guardians instead of the usual 3 right ? Honestly I love it all all the twists and turns and all the depth these stories have, while I’d love more to know more about all the guys and more about their backgrounds and back stories, I mean i know there is a lot there, all these characters they’ve seen and has happened ... But I love this series soo much Thank You Ms. James I just wish March wasn’t soo far away, I am soo very very eager for more... Ps, my birthday is in Feb ;)
I'm gonna say it again for the people in the back TRIGGER EFFING WARNING! Man, I knew what happened in this book and it still threw me for a loop. If you can't handle physical and mental abuse, you'll probably want to skip a few pages during this book.
But man, the fact that this book still can throw me is incredible. While reading these again I just can't help thinking "omg! Let's go! Get to the part I'm waiting on!" Lol. But man, the story telling in this story is amazing!
I have noticed many more errors in spelling and punctuation and such throughout this book than I think I've ever noticed before. But editing errors don't really bother me much, especially when reading smaller authors on KU. :)

Second read and review July 2019
This time around I found myself getting annoyed with Kit just like I did the first time around. And honestly I'm not sure why. I know that she has a lot being thrown at her all at once and she actually handles it quite well. But I was just getting annoyed with her.
But the story still progresses beautifully in this installment of the series. You learn more about Kit and why she can do the things she can. You also learn much much more about her guys. ***There are DEFINITELY triggers in this book for people who may have a soft heart for torture and/or an unwilling sexual participant.
Kit... Man she is just so raw and it's really beautiful. She's a seriously well written character. She isn't the type of character who thinks they know best or who is full of themselves. She is just a young girl trying to get by while literally dodging life threatening situations. The smut between Kit and her guys is also freaking perfect so that definitely helps. Lol.
I can't ever say how much I absolutely love this series. One of my favorites, for sure.

First read and review February 2018
This book, this series. Gosh, it was my reason for existing these past few days! I LOVE this series.
There was only one part in this book that I was entirely TOO frustrated with Kit. But it ended up fitting in with the story. But still, it pissed me off. -.-
There was so much that happened in this book that completely blew me away. A lot of it I kind of guessed at. But, that happens to me a lot with books so I've grown to expect it.
And the character growth has been phenomenal. The characters keep growing with each book and that is one of the main reasons that I continued reading this series. I love reading stories with amazing characters.
And let me just say the smut in these books is totally spot on! So great! :D
Ok, I'm going to have to come out and just say it - this is my favorite fantasy reverse harem series that I've read so far.
Kit is still trying to understand just what she is, why she has these powers, and what exactly she can do with them. She starts to get some answers in this book. Yay! There are still plenty of people out to get her. At times, I thought maybe this series should be named "Kidnapped Kit" because that seems to happen to her a lot considering how powerful she is supposed to be and she has all these men to protect her. Nevertheless, she finds herself in trouble often. This book is no different even though it is set in Omega headquarters where Kit is supposed to be training to become a full agent. Weird stuff keeps happening around her even at "school" - people keep getting mortal wounds that she has to heal, and Jonathan (her adopted father) is acting strangely too.
Yep, love this series! Must go read the next one ASAP.
Wow this got really dark but it was still oh so amazing! I love all these guys and their crazy bonds but I think I love Austin the most! can't wait to see what happens next!
Oh man, the Austin feels in this one! He's giving Wesley a run for his money in being my favourite! This review may be a little bit of a rehash of the previous two-I love the characters, I'm reading this for the characters and the plot is a little subpar, etc. but I do have to comment that every single plot device is a kidnap and it is getting really frustrating! We're now on book 3 and that literally seems to be the only thing that happens in this series-someone is held against their will and saved. The magic system is a little more explained in this one, with the Ban Dia and some of them finding their powers. Kit is frustrating af though, why run off into danger without telling anyone? River and Cole seem to have lost some of the attention-they're so well established with Kit now, so they seem a little...boring? Not quite boring, but they're not exciting anymore. I am especially loving Austin and Wesley though, as I said!
This series just keeps getting better I hope the author can keep that up. We are slowly learning more about kit and her boys but there are still some surprises to come. River is hiding something big from kit and the team, I can't wait to find out what it will be. Wesley still continues to be a favourite for me but they are all pretty good. Austin really cam into his own in the book, the pent up attraction that he and Kit had been dancing around finally got addressed and Austin did not let us down, he has always been the one to throw caution to the wind and be there when Kit needed him.
