Prophecy, destiny and a war that entangles two ancient gods…

Eighteen-year-old Jewel finds herself suddenly thrust into the past living among mortals. Only this life, and this version of herself is different. Yet, one thing stays the same, she finds herself in the path of Anubis, an Egyptian god. She needs him even though it could cost her everything. But Anubis just sees her as an annoying complication to his quiet life he just can’t have- at least that’s what he tells himself. Even as he is drawn to the beautiful, dangerous goddess.

With Jewel's impending activation and Zeus trying to find them, Jewel and Anubis find themselves needing each other more than they care to admit. Only someone is about to betray the other.

Can Jewel save all of humanity from her own family in time?

Awoken, the 2nd book in the Jewel trilogy, is enlightening. If you are like me, you had tons of questions, after finishing the first book. Lucky for us, Awoken provides us with answers to alot of those questions.
Prior to the fates revealing the prophecy, there was just Jewel. Follow along and find out how a young Jewel became the sassy badass she is today. This book is full of surprises and even more wonderful and new characters.

This was given to me by the author for an honest review, thank you so much Trish Beninato!

I am a big fan of this series, I love the characters, the plot, the originality, the love line. I love how the story is intertwined with Greek and Egyptian mythology. These books always make me feel something: love, hate, sadness (I actually cried a few times)... I just had all the feels!
Can't stop saying this - I love these books and the author! I am so happy that we found each other, books like that make life so much better! That's the stories I live for!
Again, huge thanks to the author Trish Beninato, not just for the ARC, but for creating such an emotionally perfectly balanced out story!

Book 2 in the Jewel Trilogy picks up right after the events of the first book, where Jewel was attacked at her school dance and her best friend Teddy was kidnapped. Jewel will do anything to get back her friend, even if it means facing her past. Jewel was once a very powerful Greek "God" but due to circumstances she does not know, she has been secretly reborn in the future. Her future depends on understanding her past, even if it is painful. Jewel makes a choice that may destroy what she has started to know...

Both books in the series are really fast reads- I sat down one weekend day and was able to read both of them that same afternoon. Book one was mostly a set up for what was to come, introducing the characters and the world, hinting at the turns that book two would take. And once I started book 2, I was so hooked! Not only do these books have aliens with science fiction elements and technology, fantasy and mythology, mystery, action and a big dollop of romance (which was epic, swoon-worthy and fated!). It also doesn't hurt that both book covers are gorgeous (hey, I like my pretties!). I highly recommend this series for anyone looking for a new take on mythology because this was so different!

Trish was able to create such a cool world for her story, where what we know as "the Gods" (Greek and Egyptian- maybe more, but that is what we focus on) are really alien species that came to earth back when man was still evolving and made themselves a place of honor, using humans as they saw fit and receiving worship in return. Oh and by the way, Atlantis is a real place under the water where the aliens lived. Yeah, way to take all these mismatched ideas, legends and conspiracy theories and mesh them into one cohesive very cool story. The world building alone would be enough to make me want to read more.

Book 2 is told in a completely different way than Acceptance was, instead of the present world and issues, we instead experience Jewel's memories right along with her as she relearns who she is. I really enjoyed the fact that this was actually the backstory, more like a prequel to the trilogy, but it is set up in such a way to complement the first book. In the first book, Jewel had no idea who she was or what she was capable of, but in Awoken she is a complete person and we see her fully as well as the events that led for her to have a rebirth. This story perfectly set up what will very obviously be an epic conclusion to the trilogy. I have my heart set on a happily ever after for the love of Anubis and Jewel, but after such a turbulent past, I have no idea if I will get my way.

This is the second book in the Jewel Trilogy and we get to see Jewel live through the memories that she was getting back at the end of the first book. I loved how through those memories we get a better understanding of her backstory and those that supported her. I really hope we get to see a few of those support people in the third book as well as find out just what that twist at the end has in store for us. Wow! I am simply in love with this series! This is a prequel so to speak. Jewel is reaching her activation, and we are brought back into Jewel's memories. Her beginning, the start of her long journey, her family history, how her & Anubis' story is brought together by fate!
Trish has a brilliant mind and I love following Jewel in this journey of self discovery! I'm looking forward to the last book in this trilogy!

An epic book 2!

This time, we journey to the past with Jewel. We watch her grow up and come into her own.

It was a lot of fun reading about Past Jewel. Her origin story is fascinating. Ms. Beninato’s take on mythology is engrossing and I’d love to see more in this world of fantasy, aliens, and time travel. I especially want to learn more about the fae in this world! They’re just touched upon, but if you know me, you know I like exploring all the what if’s!

There’s lots more Anubis in this one, & his struggles with his inner darkness (you can’t be the god of death with out some darkness). The choices he makes, & the struggle it is to make them make him a fascinating character to get to know.

There are lots of new side characters (I don’t want to call them minor, because they’re not. Perhaps supporting characters?) to fall in love with. I hope some (if not all) show up in book 3!

The next installment of the Jewel Trilogy....

This book focuses on Jewel's first life as her memories come flooding back in. We find out about Jewel's childhood, the prophecy, her relationship with Anubis, and her downfall.

The reader is introduced to many new supporting characters and a better understanding of her backstory.and how the Evols came into existence.

Very well detailed and filled with vivid scenes that kept me interested tge whole way through. The twist at the end was great! Can't wait to read the final installment!

This book had all the things I loved. Ancient Egyptian Gods. Ancient Greek Gods. Kick ass lead and sexy as heck Anubis. I loved everything about this book, it was even more gripping then the first book! I loved reading about Jewel’s life pre Acceptance and I could not put it down! Definitely a page turning and now I’m just hanging out for the third instalment! If you loved all those things, go get onto the first book! I guarantee you’ll fall in love with the characters!

I loved the first book, and I wasn't disappointed with the second. Throwing you into the story from where the first book left off, you're taken right back to the past with Jewel and led through the story of her finally meeting Anubis and the relationship that developed from there. It was beautifully told and great to see the back story of the characters we'd met in the first book. I enjoyed it immensely, and am now anxiously awaiting the third in the trilogy! Highly recommended!

Picks up after book one and just drags you right into the thick of things. More time is spent in the past as Jewel is remembering more and more of what lead to where she is now. I laughed and cried and did them both again. I really love this series so far, and can't wait to find out where it goes next. I need to know what happens with everyone: Teddy, Hathor, Izzat, Nikon, Jewel and Anubis!!

WOW! What a mix, Greek pantheon of gods, Egyptian pantheon of gods, Atlantis. After reading the first book I went right to the second (so many books, so little time). Outstanding book, even better than the first now that you know the players, captivating characters, wonderful storyline. A must-read for fantasy fans, I can't wait for book 3!

It really didn’t take me so long to finish I just didn’t update my progress, as always I was impressed with Trish’s storytelling. I love that we get to be inside the thoughts of Jewel and Anubis. I noticed some editing errors but this was in no way a deal breaker for me. I loved learning more about our characters and can’t wait for the third installment of this trilogy.

I didn’t read the first book in the series but after reading the second one, I will definitely go back and read it. The main character, Jewel, is a fierce, beautiful and loving woman. You couldn’t help but applaud her on her journey. Seems so many want her dead, so the action is ongoing. I really read it fast as it will hold your attention. I need book #1 and 3 in my hands right now.

I thoroughly enjoyed learning more about what happen to Jewel and what lead up to where we are now. I loved how the author also included Anubis’ point of view as well!

This continues to follow Jewel as she comes to term with who she was and starts to prepare she to have both her lives combined. It was an engaging story and made me love Jewel as a character. I look forward to the next installment.

Amazing Book. It picks up right where book one of this trilogy leaves off at. I thoroughly enjoyed getting a better look at the life of Jewel as she relived her memories. I can't to read more about Jewel. It introduces us to more characters from Jewels life.

This is the second of the three books in the Jewel and Anubis trilogy and is just as good as the first. Cannot wait for the final instalment. These sort of books are right up my street. If you enjoyed the first you will definitely enjoy this one. Highly recommended.

Why do things the easy way? Jewel stole my heart. She realizes the virtue of learning by living and not hiding. Impatiently waiting for the next part of her story.

The actual story was good and interesting but the writing and mistakes were distracting. If the book was edited, this would be a great book.

Needs editing

This is a great story, but there are so many errors that it was hard to figure out some of the sentences. Please have a good editor fix it.

This story is from the point of view of the earlier Jewel and tells the back story of her life, how she met Anubis and how the prophecy changed her life. It also explained where the Evols come from and also adds a few more characters to the mix, some on Jewels side and some not. I loved this book and am looking forward to reading the next book.

This was an ok sequel to Acceptance since we actually learn everything that happened to bring Jewel, Anubis, Thoth, and everyone to the first book. It wasn't a series of short flashbacks but the entire previous story. There were parts of it that captivated me but I have trouble with the writing style. It needs refinement. It's just too simple. It screams "first time author" but the problem is this isn't a first book. I enjoyed Acceptance but hoped that extreme simple writing style would evolve a bit as the series continued. Unfortunately it seems like this book was maybe a bit rushed and didn't have an editor. There were typos like mixing robed with robbed ect. There was also misplaced and random punctuation. There were sentences and scenes that we're just lacking in depth: "I walked over to him." There is so much that could be done with a sentence like that but for some reason it seemed acceptable.
I found this book much harder to read than the first book and can unfortunately say that I wouldn't read it again.
