Nothing like a Sequel to a Best Seller!

First let me say that Dina Rae always writes the most thought provoking novels ever! This follow up novel to her book “The Best Seller” will intrigue those minds that crave a great conspiracy theory mixed with some Scifi magic.

Take note to read the book “The Best Seller” before diving into this one in order to have a better understanding of Maya and her past story.

Now for my review, all I can say is WOW! Dina’s imagination and conspiracy creativity transforms into a visionary world on the pages where there is a questionable real world theory and a possible connection with the unimaginable fantasy world our favorite authors create.

Imagine if you will, what if it was possible to time travel back to WWII – the Nazi area, with the intention to gather Intel and possibly kill or stop Hitler from his evilness. But instead you come upon secrets like an Alien invasion that has teamed up with Hitler and given him the sick envision to kill all the dark haired individuals etc… and learn that even our own government officials are really out to destroy us by creating their own Alien babies:

“The world would eventually operate as one. New World Order was the term some of the elite began to use behind closed doors.”

AND to think the government is keeping all this info from us. To top it off you learn that you yourself are a species created from an ancestor that is alien as well thanks to Government DNA tampering between the captured Aliens from Area 51 etc…

Then add in the equation of your current situation back home in the real world where you have major problems with the loss of a family member and the shocker of the soon to be ex-husband attempt on trying to kill you – Yes, all this and more goes into this awesome story.

Oh the characters! Dina doesn’t disappoint with creating characters that win your heart (Eric & Maya) and characters to hate where you wish they would just go ahead and die or get killed (Claude, his brother Sam, and slutty girlfriend) – LOL. The drama is spell binding and will have you glued to the pages if the Aliens haven’t already. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough to get to what happens next kind of thing. Totally addictive writing. The revenge is bitter sweet and I loved it!

The reader gets to see the human side of the scientist and see the determination to live by the right creed but at the same time in the name of science (changing Eric’s DNA to Alien so he can time travel) and in the name of righteous humane punishments (putting a murderous woman in a time machine knowing it will kill her just to get answers from another bad guy), Science becomes a wonderful thing in the end – like I said – Bitter Sweet.

The structure of the story was brilliantly done. In the first book “The Best Seller” you learn about Maya’s Alien DNA and her Alien brother Jay McCallister, Paula, Mercedes, Doctor Chuck Wu, Attorney Glenn who all work at T.A.H. Institute. You also learn about military officer Andreas from Operation Chrome, however, In this book the author ties all of these individuals together into present day by visiting their past and how their past circumstances ended up leading them into the now and why the WWII area plays a significant role in this story. It was interesting getting the background on each individual because when the new character Dr. Lori was introduced it all made sense.

So many things I can go on to talk about, the ending was brilliant – I loved the Alien Underground World beneath Hitler’s Lair. The colorful fantasy creatures and the shape shifting reptilian Aliens gave the story a great visual world. Thanks for a happy ending Dina and for leaving it open for another chapter of Sequels. A special “Thank you” for using Devon Newberry as head of security at T.A.H. – Love ya!

I highly recommend this awesome novel to all those who love a mixture of Scifi magic and conspiracy theories. I look forward of reading more of this awesome author’s work. Her writing is totally addicting.

Excellent Read!

After almost dying Maya Smock climbs into a time traveling machine with no clue as to where she may find herself when she gets out. Deep down is probably concerned if she will make it out alive or in one piece. When the time machine stops Maya finds herself in Germany during WWII.

Maya is taken to Hitler’s Eagle’s Nest where he studies her in a lab like a rat and introduces her to these alien creatures that are called Reptilians. The Reptilians try to play nice with Maya telling her all about the home they have made for themselves in hallow earth and about their involvement with Hitler.

It doesn’t take Maya long to figure out that the aliens are not as nice as they are making out to be and she must figure a way out before it is too late. Even if she does manage to escape the Reptilians then she still has to find a way back to the time machine and then she will have to figure out how to operate it. Can Maya figure out how to operate the time machine? Will Maya get back home?

The Sequel takes us from 1944 Germany to 1970 to 1980 and into present day but not all of it is through time travel some or most is through time lines telling each characters story and how they all intertwine.

I really and truly love reading Dina’s books they make you think. I am a big conspiracy theorist so when I read Dina’s books it puts my little brain in over drive and expands my thinking process and opens it to a whole new world. The worlds that she creates are over the top and the code as I am calling it that is woven into each one is astronomical. All I am saying is that if you read between the lines so to speak you might just find that her stories are not too far from the truth. Who knows, right?

We have The Best Seller and The Sequel so what is next Dina? I have loved traveling with Maya, Jay, The General, Lori and the aliens from one time to another and can’t wait to read more of their traveling adventures and the aliens. Who is Maya?

If you aliens, time traveling then let me suggest that you give The B

Dina Rae’s newest novel is “The Sequel.” It is published by Solstice Publishing, and is indeed a “sequel” to her well received previous novel “The Best Seller.”
The setting for her book moves around from WWII Germany to modern USA with side trips to the late 70’s and early eighties- much as you’d expect from a story about the initial discovery of time travel! The characters are followed through each timeline, and the author makes appropriately subtle changes to their personalities reflecting their age and experiences as we meet them later in time.
Mrs. Rae does a wonderful job of weaving together science fiction and conspiracy theories (several of which are represented here). I particularly enjoyed her character development. There are no black and white good guy/bad guy characters here. This is very clear when some of the folks on the “good guy” team are perfectly willing to do human experimentation to save one of their own and to further their science! Not much different than the Nazi era that Maya finds herself trapped in. The image of Allie in the time capsule is one that will be with me for a while!
I would highly recommend this novel for all fans of both science fiction and conspiracy theories with one caveat. For me, the book began slowly, as there were many characters to learn and it took me awhile to catch up. I do not fault Mrs. Rae for this, as Science fiction is not my normal genre to read, and I regret I did so out of order. For readers already familiar with the series, this wouldn’t be an issue, so read them both!

The Sequel by Dina Rae is exactly that. It's the sequel to her The Bestseller, novel. A series that is most interesting. A combination of both science fiction and conspiracies are formed here. While I have read several sci-fi books, this series still stands on top. The characters are unique. Take the leading protagonist...she is a writer and gets sucked into worlds that I haven't even dreamed of...

Dina Rae is a talented writer. Her words create visual images of the scenes and sends me spiraling into her world of fiction. Creative, intriguing, and most of all entertaining. I love anything that involves WWII stuff. And this book has that. Elements of fantasy are shown on the pages as well. Time travel and human experimentation just to name a few. The Sequel has left me waiting to see what Dina Rae plans for next time. As always I'm guaranteed a lifetime of adventure, excitement, and suspense. Overall, I would recommend The Sequel to readers everywhere.

I received this copy from the publisher. This, is my voluntary review.

Another great installment in Dina Rae’s Sci-Fi series.
I was particularly happy that everything was taken up another notch in this novel, Rae wasn’t messing around when she wrote this.

At the beginning we are are given just enough information to get us caught up. Then you are back into the action and there is plenty of new drama unfolding.

Overall a great addition to the Sci-Fi series world.

I definitely love this series. Definitely pick up the first one before starting this one.

The plot was very well paced and while some parts were easy to predict, there were also plenty of surprises along the way and ultimately it led to a great read overall.

You will not be disappointed by the world Dina Rae has created and the action and adventure that has come from her imagination.

Like I said in my review of the first book (The Best Seller) I loved the show Ancient Aliens and this book series tread the same waters. Nazi, Roswell, the Greys, the Reptilians, Hollow Earth, etc. Plus the actual story around those familiar (conspiracy) theories is very interesting with great writing, great pacing and genuine character depth. The ending to the series is somewhat open-ended and I would really like to have more from Dina Rae in the near future. To summarize, we get: time travel, many Ancient Aliens tropes, nazi supernatural history, genetic manipulation and a hell of a good story in general. Highly recommended.

There is a lot going on and be prepared to be caught up in a whirlwind and dive right in.

Dina Rae does not disappoint her readers in The Sequel to The Best Seller. The novel has three strands. The first is that of Maya telling about her trip back in time. The second takes place at Broom Lake, Nevada during the early 1970s. The final strand of the novel takes place in present day Nevada as we uncover betrayal and murder at Broom Lake.

Maya Smock is back telling her story in the first person. We soon learn she has a very special ability. Within her DNA there is the genetic code for time travel. Glenn Lucasek, the head of T.A.H. (They Are Here) Institute sends his partner, Jay McCallister, back in time successfully. When Maya takes the trip back to World War II Germany, something goes wrong and Maya doesn’t return.

At Broom Lake septuagenarian General Robert Andreas is about to retire from the base that created babies with human and alien DNA. But before he does, he must get in touch with his old flame, Kate, who informs him by letter about a child at her daughter Lori’s orphanage in London that could be an alien half-breed. He flies to London to find out that Lori is actually his daughter and Kate’s life is at risk.

The final strand is the springboard for the other three subplots. This is the anchor for Maya’s trip back in time and a point of reference to the development of the Dr. Lori character, the fates of Claude Kazinsky and the Nazi scientists from the first book.

Many of the characters from the first novel are aged and returned to the present. Geneticist Dr. Lori Blacksmith has figured out the time travel gene and her two subjects, Jay and Maya, are successful in its implementation. Of course she has help, but a few of the source of that help could best be described as paranormal.

Throughout the novel there are high stakes tensions as conspiracy theories are opened raw to a gaping reader—flying saucers, government conspiracies, Roswell, and Area 51, to name a few. There are several murders, sanctioned torture, a few alien races, a world beneath the Earth, and the historical figures we meet don’t disappoint. Rae does a wonderful job of developing her characters, describing the settings, and moving the plot along like a staccato beat.

To enjoy The Best Seller Series start with book one, The Best Seller before reading The Sequel, otherwise you may feel lost. Happy reading.

Continuing right where The Best Seller left off The Sequel sees Maya Smock back in 1944.She is taken to Eagle's Nest where she comes face to face with Hitler and Boorman. While there she is introduced to another alien race The Reptilians and as she taken down into the hollow earth where they live the question soon  becomes can Maya return to the present day or is she trapped forever with no way out.

Now as you know I loved The Best Seller and Dina didn't fail with The Sequel.
All the characters from the first book return and all the separate story lines from both books fall into place. No loose ends are left for you to wonder how did that end.
This time I think the book asked two questions.
If aliens and time travel both existed and a select few knew and made it work how would that knowledge impact on the world. Would it be used for good or bad?
Secondly if someone could time travel what would the consequences be. Would someone travel back in an attempt to change world history?
Just like The Best Seller I highly recommend this to you. Oh and if you get the chance try and read both books back to back as I did.
You won't regret it.

All things considered, I loved this book. Although the novel began with slow retelling of the plot from The Best Seller, the riveting contents soon sucked me into a world of fantasy where two timelines converged to reveal the common connection. The main characters held a certain charm, whereas the large cast of bit-players remained unremarkable.

The story fascinated me more than the passive sentence construction, which was let down by poor editing. Some of the explanations rushed at such a pace that they were more of an author telling her ideas than part of a real scene. Nevertheless, the pace and events in this exciting tale warrant my 4* rating.

I really enjoyed the pacing and how it was steady throughout. It is fast paced and doesn't let up and didn't have moments that dragged. It made for a fast and furious read.

It really shined light on to the characters and world in general.

I liked that this was sci-fi but also had many other qualities that made it lovable to readers of suspense, historical, paranormal, and fiction in general.

There are a lot of moving parts to this novel and a good amount of drama and action without being action packed. The Sci-Fi aspect is very well done and the imagery and setting is amazing. The Author really brings the world to life through words. Get ready to be immersed in the world and captivated by the characters she has created.

Nice romp

Quick read and a good sequel. Can’t shake the feeling the author ran out of gas and mailed in the same ending.
