Quincy Harker #3.4

Running with the Devil

Rate this book
Quincy Harker's Quest for Glory is going straight to Hell, and now he's got to make it through Purgatory to get Glory's wings back!

Glory gave up her wings to save the world, now Harker and the Shadow Council are working to get them back. To do that, they have to locate eight AWOL Archangels and convince them to go back to work. But not all these angels want to get back to the business of Heaven, and not all of them even remember who they are.

Everyone's favorite demon hunter is looking for a kidnapped Archangel, and he's got to do something completely out of character to do it - go to church. It seems there's a band of extreme religious zealots running around North Carolina, and their current target is a local event promoter who just happens the be the Archangel Uriel in disguise. When Harker follows the evidence to the extremists, he uncovers a lot more than a stuffed offering plate.

Corrupt cops, drunken demons, unholy ministers, and a LOT of leather and spandex make Running with the Devil one of the darkest Harker novellas yet!

Devil Inside is the fourth installment in the Quest for Glory serial featuring Quincy Harker and the Shadow Council.
Part 1 - Calling All Angels
Part 2 - Devil Inside
Part 3 - Angel Dance
Part 4 - Running with the Devil
The Quest for Glory will traverse eight novellas in total over 2017 & 2018

This is book 12 in the Quincy Harker Demon Hunter series by John G. Hartness. It’s also part 4 of a four part story arc spanning books 9-12. As such, there may be spoilers to earlier books in my review. This is also the last book in the Omnibus Volume 1.

Another Archangel, another wild adventure. Harker and the gang continue to be a lot of fun mixed with supernatural lore, mysteries, suspense, and maniacal adversaries. This time searching for Uriel leads to a fetish club where Harker, despite having seen pretty much everything, is completely out of place. When zealots crash the club, the investigation takes an interesting turn.

This one ends on a definite cliffhanger and next up is She Talks to Angels.

Narration:
What can I say that hasn't already been said over the last 11 books? James Anderson Foster has been the masterful captain of this wild ride and he continues to be perfect for Harker and Hartness's writing.

Even more cringe worthy inconsistencies than normal.
Total contradictory nonsense to be more exact.
Now dragons exist something which was vehemently denied in the books prior, now they are generic apparently. The excessive mythomania is getting absurd.
The world building in this series is so utterly crap that its disgraceful tbh.

Running with the Devil throws you meteorically into John Hartness’s kickass vision of the multiverse.

Mind-blowing,
My favorite to date,
And the most amazing read you will probably experience for a long time to come.

I've missed Quincy! This is one of my favorites, if not my favorite, of the series. Quincy is snarky and loves his colorful language, but he is just so funny and lovable! Non-stop action in this edition, with Quincy getting beat up and his butt handed to him, for the most part. Quick/fun read!

The search continues for the Archangels, as year three comes to an end. Harker again takes centre stage, as a mysterious Pastor seems to be more than he appears. Good book as Harker goes toe to toe with the Pastor, who is more than just another demon!!

The fourth installment of year 3 for Quincy Harker (with the entire season available group together in Damnation).

Harker continues the Quest for Glory's wings by hunting down Uriel, who ... has taken up a fetish lifestyle. The story starts in Purgatory, goes to church, and continues from there.

Action packed and doesn't skimp on Harker facing harder and harder battles with less and less backup.
