A collection of stories where you'll get a glimpse into a shadowy world of monsters and psychopaths, of demons and ghosts, of horrors and thrills, where nothing is what it seems. Inside you'll find:
Two boys perform a ritual to invite a spirit into their home . . . but how do they get it back out?
A man wakes up to find that he's the last person on Earth . . . or are there others out there waiting for him?
When the zombie apocalypse happens, maybe the person you're shacked up with is more dangerous than the zombies.
How far would a father go to bring his child back from death?
A woman is stalked by a psychic in her nightmares . . . until she learns to fight back.
You'll find these stories and more in this collection.

This might be the best collection of horror short stories that I have ever read. This book is at a Twilight Zone level of expertise. Almost every story ended with a sometimes cryptic twist that you'll never see coming. Filled with shocks and imagery that won't soon be forgotten. Bravo Mark Likens! You are my new hero. P.s. I can lucid dream, so I might see you sooner than later. Wink wink
Well written horror that can make you stop and think. I really enjoyed the little bulbs after each story that gave a little insight into what the author was thinking or how he was inspired.
This book is a collection of interesting short stories. Usually among the collection of stories, a few are boring but in this collection I found all of the pieces to be very well written and the concepts are quite interesting. Indeed some of the ideas are not quite new but overall its a nice book.
I wished longer version of: 1. Downloaded to hell 2. The wrong feet & 3. Killing Tammy.
‘Razor blade Dreams’ is derivative (apologies are owed to King and Koontz) and repetitious. And if a beloved pet appears in the story, you can bet that the author will kill it in some horrible way by the end of the chapter. I gave it one star only because I couldn’t give it zero stars.
It has been quite awhile since I have read a book of short stories but wanted a short break from my normal readings. I enjoyed the majority of these stories but there were a couple I struggled to get through, I didn’t have that “I’ve gotta know what happens next” feeling. Until the last story that is. I was only going to give this 3 stars but the last story alone is worth 5 stars. I think the last story “Razorblade Dreams” would make a great movie!
I usually do not perfect short stories over novel length books. However, Mark Lukens catches you and drags you. One of his short stories. Safe Haven, still obsesses me. All of these stories were good. A couple of them made me glad to stop reading for the night. I hope you'll read and enjoy them too. Happy Reading!
Mark Lukens proves once again that he can scare the bejesus out of you in this collection of short stories. Some of them seem too short, though; for example, “Zombie House “ would make a good novel. A good read.
Sometimes it's nice to take a break from novels and read some short stories. This collection had a great mix and I found each story to be quite interesting, I liked it very much.
