Beautifully illustrated, very abstract story. Basically Kull is on his death bed struggling with Death (personified as a beautiful woman offering him the peace of death). We get some flashbacks going through his life. I'd say it's really just to Kull fans only, this wouldn't be a good first comic to read.
Quite interesting story with some weird-ass art. Essentially Kull f'd Death - both ways - and survived a mortal wound by sheer willpower and bravado pledges. Pretty cool.
This is a story of REH's other barbarian hero - Kull of Atlantis - who is not as well known as Conan, even though their lives have striking parallels. This graphic novel seems to be an attempt by Marvel to rectify this (although Kull had appeared often in the second story in the Savage Sword of Conan magazine), as it provides a potted summary of Kull's life.
Kull has been wounded in battle and lies, near death, in his recovery bed - his dreams give us the main points of his life. The artwork is lovely but the story is just not up to scratch.
While I love the Conan comic stories I rarely get to see any of Robert E. Howard's other character's in comic form. This King Kull story was a nice treat. Good art and story. Very recommended
