This is a raw gritty book that I simply fell in love with. Now be warned this is a hard core chick who won't back down but who loves harder than anyone can, and who will do anything for those she loves. Ginger had me at word one for many reasons. She is different she isn't a wall flower who can be pushed around, she's strong opinionated and smart. But Ginger is also loving and protective, she is tough, she loves and when you mean something to her you mean the world to her. I always am on the lookout for a great hero. One who is strong and possessive and who falls madly in love with his heroine and Oz fits that to a T. And I loved Oz he is the perfect hero for Ginger. He gives her a safe place to be Ginger. A place to feel loved and maybe most impersonally a place she doesn't have to carry all the load and a future she never knew she could have.

But Ginger is something else in this book. I love a tough heroine though to be very fair I love a venerable or broken heroine if written right. But I think a tough heroine may be the hardest to write, and the reason I say that is because with a woman their is a fine line. You want her tough but you don't want her the man in the romance book. Bijou Hunter found that balance we see Ginger as this unstoppable force who does what she needs to to get things done and for the people she loves and then we see her with Oz and we see she is in fact still vulnerable and soft and she loves so ferociously.

I will also say to please heed the warning on this book. It is an amazing romance and like all Bijou Hunter books has great characters and perfect epilogues but this one has some tough subject lines that some may not be able to read about. Now having said that Ms. Hunter does an amazing job showing us the ugly(and wiring it well and taking care with that) but more importantly showing us the exquisite strength Ginger has to not only live through her past but the beauty that is Ginger who not only comes out of her past but who thrives.

Another thing about Ms. Hunters books is they have unconventional things in them and this book is no exception but thats another thing that makes these books so special what Ginger does is different and I don't think I have read another book with a heroine like this. Now lets not skimp on Oz, he's amazing, has he made mistakes yes. The man is far from perfect but his family means everything to him and when Ginger comes into his life she is all he see's, like a horse with blinders on Ginger is it his one focus.

Ginger and her crew were sent to Rawlins, Arkansas to help out Oz the new leader to the local MC, and to keep an eye on him. Ginger and her crew aren't like others, it's an all girl crew who have made a name for themselves among the toughest of the tough of men who aren't afraid to do what needs to be done even if it's ugly. When Ginger and her crew walk into the Rusty Cage Oz is sure he has it all figured out till he lays eyes on her.

Oz is handsome but Ginger has a job to do and having Oz in her life as anything but a job isn't in the cards. But Oz can be just as stubborn if not more than Ginger and now that he has set his sights on her he is determined to not only get her but keep her. The more time these two misfits spend together the more Ginger finds herself falling in love with this man who gives her everything she never knew she needed. And Oz is determined to be all the things Ginger needs no matter what.

This was a fun story it stands out and that for me is something I really appreciate the more books I read. I had so much fun in this world Bijou Hunter created. There is definite funny moments like only Ms. Hunter can do and though it's different in some ways from her other books it's defiantly feels like a Bijou Hunter book, in fact when reading this book (and this isn't the first time I have thought this) I though that if I was given a book from her that I didn't know was hers I still would know because her writing voice is so unique. I can't recommend this book enough. Like all of her other books this book is safe and like all her other books this book is beautifully written and an amazing read.

*Thank you Bijou Hunter for this Beta book!

4.5 ⭐️ I wasn’t too sure about this when I read the blurb or when I started the book but as with all of this author’s books, I ended up loving it.

I thought Ginger would be too alpha for my tastes and in the beginning she was. Meeting and learning to love Oz and his kids softened her up a bit though. I wasn’t sure how she’d do with Oz’s kids but she is great with them.

I adored Oz. He has sex on the brain pretty much constantly in the beginning but he very quickly realizes that Ginger is the one for him. I loved how dedicated he was to Ginger and how sure he was about them.

With a funny and eclectic cast of secondary characters, this is a great start to a new series by Bijou Hunter.

I enjoy most of Bijou Hunter's books, but unfortunately this book is not one of them. I honestly just did not like this one. I found myself having a problem connecting to the characters and the story itself. I just did not warm up to the main characters in this story. I cannot explain why exactly, but they just rubbed me the wrong way. I enjoyed her other MC series, so I was quite excited to see her writing another one. The book was written well, it just didn't work for me. My review is only my opinion. Even though this book wasn't for me, it doesn't mean it won't be a good read for you.

I wanted to love this one, it started so well. Maybe I'm weird (no maybe about it) but I needed more ass whooping and nut stomping. Ginger could have been my favorite BH heroine, taking the spot from Tawny, if I could have read about her violent temper, not just in past tense. Oz was funny but he didn't seem much like a leader. I wanted to read about him putting at least one member in their place. There were some amazing side characters in this book, looking forward to the next books in the series.

Oz Savo has just taken over as president for the Heretics MC when he is told to welcome a female MC called ENC. Ginger is the head of ENC and she takes no prisoners for anyone in her wake. Oz is looking at the woman of his dreams with lust in his eyes but Ginger has a past and a huge chip on her shoulder that tells Oz he has to take his time where Ginger is concerned.

Moving to Rawlins, Arkansas is a fresh start for Ginger and her crew. Ginger doesn't trust easily and she is weary of Oz, she is attracted to him no doubt about it but she has baggage that could house a state. Can Ginger learn to trust Oz and can she accept all that he is about without given up too much of herself in the process?

This has a some triggers readers might not be comfortable for some readers. There was one thing about Ginger I was worried about how I would feel about her but I thought Bijou Hunter handled her story brilliantly. Loved everything about this book, it caused a few tears but I thought Ginger was a fighter who made the best with a bad situation. I marveled at her strength. Oz, sigh, he is just page reading yumminess. If you liked Rawkfist and Serrated Brotherhood MC series, you will love this.

Bijiu Hunter's books are a hit or miss for me. Some I love and others I don't really care about.

It's not the writing style. The main problem with this book were the characters. I didn't care for them. Found them to be boring. Didn't like how the hero talked. Didn't feel the connection between the main MC's. And I didn't like the female MC, or whatever they were. Not one interesting character. They were odd.

I had to put the book up several times, but I just couldn't finish it.

I received an arc of this book from the author for honest review.

This is a new MC series by Bijou Hunter and once again I enjoyed it the interaction between the two MC of this story. Bijou always manages to balance the idea of what is considered "broken" with empowerment, which I find quite enjoyable. In this story we have someone like Ginger that in most peoples minds would be considered "broken" but she completely turns it around for herself, but this doesn't mean she doesn't have issues. I like how the author balance humour, raunchiness, and just plain sweet at times to make an overall good feeling story. I loved how much Oz was into Candy and how willing he was to chase her, and keep chasing her because he knew she was it for him. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens with the rest Ginger's family, I wonder who's up next?

It’s been awhile since I treated myself to a Bijou Hunter book. I love her characters because they are down to earth and rough around the edges. Their eyes are open to their individual flaws, but they don’t let that stop them from trying to make the best of what life has handed to them. Rusty Cage is a spin-off of the Little Memphis series which is my absolute favorite of Ms. Hunter’s books. They are gritty and raw and they are set in Arkansas which is where I call home.
“Rumor has it criminals whisper my name, fearing I’ll hear them and appear like the bogeyman to punish their evil deeds.”

I loved everything about Ginger. She knew she had issues and didn’t apologize for it. She embraced her flaws and I’d go so far as saying she used her hangups and idiosyncrasies to her advantage. She’s a violent woman in a violent world. In order to survive, she let the monster within take over and she’s now feared far and wide. She is the head of the Everything Nice Crew, a group of former whores who you quickly realize are the exact opposite of what their name implies.

Although the ENC has made their mark and earned their place in Little Memphis, the MC President sends several of them to Rawlins, Arkansas as muscle to help out an allied MC. For the members who made the trip, this is a chance to make a new home for themselves and a somewhat clean slate… if they can keep from killing the remaining alpha-holes of the Heretics that is.
“We could make a deal.”
“Yes, to whatever it is.”
“That’s your dick talking.”
Leaning down he smirks. “Ginger, ninety-nine percent of the time, it’s my dick talking.”

Osirus, aka Oz, is the new President of the Heretics which is now down to six members. Without the infusion of money and muscle from Little Memphis, his MC would be in huge trouble and he knows it. The minute he sets eyes on Ginger, his favorite body part takes notice. Everything about her does it for him. Oz was the perfect alpha hero for Ginger. He knew it would take everything he had to net him this little ball buster, and he also knew he’d be playing for keeps. The fact Ginger had no desire to be snared by a man just made him want her more.
No first kiss had ever scared me as much as this one. Despite her gentle gaze, she’s looking for any flaw to shut me down. Fortunately, my lips are a treasure to womankind.

There wasn’t a lot of action in Rusty Cage but Oz’s pursuit of Ginger made up for it. The grit and rawness factor I love so much in these books wasn’t missing since it came through as the couple got to know each other and shared their pasts. Ginger’s story is hard to hear, but her triumph over the hardships she’s endured helped to soothe the pain. Their snarky banter and Ginger’s struggle to keep down her violent tendencies had me smirking throughout the book. Their chemistry was just as violent and gritty as their personalities.

I thoroughly enjoyed Rusty Cage and look forward to more from the Rawlins Heretics. It was sexy, raw, gritty and down to earth which is just how I like my MC books.

DNF @ 43% because I just couldn’t make myself care very much about either main character. I didn’t feel connected to them. At all. I was excited to find out Ginger Snaps was getting her own book, so this is disappointing to me. When a book doesn’t make me feel anxious to get back to it, I begin to wonder why I’m even putting in the effort. I am wondering no more.

This book was a really refreshing change from the usual MC books I read. I loved that the Alpha male Oz, the President of the Rawlings Heretics MC met his match in Ginger, the President of the Everything Nice Crew, and it made him want her more. He loved her feistiness right from the start and didn’t shy away from this very challenging woman.

Oz is a single father of two raising his kids with his very strong mother, who raised him alone. He had a pretty happy childhood and knows how lucky he is to have a great mother and two fantastic kids, despite them coming from two different mothers, who abandoned them soon after birth.

His MC is pretty small, after a huge chunk of it got either killed or imprisoned and he looks outside town to another MC for assistance. He gets some money loaned to him and in exchange he lets a crew of women move to town who have money to invest and while support him as his MC grows back to full strength.

The Everthing Nice Crew is a band of women who had to fight for everything they got, fand had to fight dirty and ruthless to break free of very bad situations. None of these women had much good in their lives, until they joined together. Ginger, as their president is the most ruthless. She finds it hard to trust anyone, let alone a very alpha male who wants to break down her barriers.

I loved how these two alphas banter and argue, from their very first meeting, fighting to see who will come out on top of the heap. The book has very little plot other than Ginger and Oz working their way under each other’s skin, but it’s a very fun ride. I didn’t care there wasn’t much plot because their relationship evolving was enough for me.

There are a lot of very dark and unpleasant things discussed in this book. It isn’t for people who like easy romances, but I think it’s worth it, provided you like banter between two alphas.

I received an Arc from the author for an honest review.

I just love the way Bijou Hunter writes, she paces the story perfectly she makes it very easy to read this book triggering your imagination as if you are in the story with them.

Two strong alpha characters my heart went out to Ginger with her turmoil teenage years and how she had no choice but to be a strong minded bad ass female I respected her more for it. Oz also is the typical alpha male who wants to control Ginger but deep down he is a softy with a huge heart. I love the banter between the two and how the girl crew don't take no rubbish from anyone. Ginger is one strong minded female who does what she likes when she likes and no one tell's her what to do unless she wants to. She does have emotional problems from her past but with OZ she over comes her fears that she hides really well.
I really loved this story and how two people with troubled past with very dominant characters can give in to one another, each taking into consideration of the other person feelings.

If you like strong minded females with bad ass attitude and stand up to what they believe in this is the book for you.

Cant wait to read more from Ms Hunter and looking forward to this series, all the females in the crew have a story, she gives you a glimpse into each one of them throughout this book.

I'm a fan of Bijou Hunter so I'm not going to write a bad review unless she writes absolute gibberish.
That said, I thoroughly enjoyed this first book in a new series.
I understand some readers expect goriness and violence in an MC book but this isn't really the case with this book. I personally appreciated the focus on the love story between Ginger, leader of the Everything nice crew, and Oz, prez of the Heretics.
Yes, it's gentler than others in the genre but sometimes graphic descriptions of bloodshed, violence and debauchery aren't what's needed.
Ginger, has had a difficult life and is attempting to start again in a new place, Rawlins, building a legitimate property development business. Previously an enforcer and gun for hire, she has been tasked with keeping an eye the local MC Heretics.
Oz the sort of accidental president of the Heretics is trying to rebuild an MC decimated by death and jail. He has a tiny crew and is rebuilding in a new and improved way.
When they meet, it's an instalove situation for Oz. He recognises his future is Ginger so sets out to win her heart.
Ginger attempts to evade but also recognises destiny has come for her.
I loved them as a couple and was cheering on each little victory and breaking of barriers.
4 and a half stars from me.

Carla's Five Star Review

In this great new book, we meet Ginger and Oz. They are by no means the perfect couple, and their lives often mirror that. I tell ya, I fell in love with Ginger, and her crew from the very start. Each of these women suffered abuse and neglect, but what made them so inspiring is the fact that the rounded up their little circle of misfits and somehow became a family. Ginger is the leader of the Everything Nice Crew, and let me tell you these women aren't afraid to stand up for themselves. Now, I know most of us who read this particular genre are pretty used to reading about rape, murder, and gore. However, this book isn't like that. This book focuses on Ginger and Oz and their budding relationship.

I thought the story flowed effortlessly, and it kept my attention from beginning to end. I fell hard for both Ginger and Oz, and I kept my fingers crossed that they would end up together! I can't wait to read Devil's Run which is going to be Blackjack and Yarrow's story.

Rusty cage is book one in the Rawlins heretics MC series. I have mixed feelings on this book. It didn’t grip me but I also couldn’t put it down, so I guess in a way, it did kind of grip me. I liked parts of this story more than others. I found the writing style easy to follow but the pace slow. I had a love hate relationship with Osiris. I liked how determined he was to make Ginger his but his snarky comments at times irritated me. I wanted to tell him to back the hell off and let Ginger decide if she wanted him or not.
My heart went out to Ginger and all she had been through. That being said, I liked that she became a badass and was one to be feared. I liked the other women/ Ginger’s friends. I liked how protective and violent they were when it came to protecting their best friend and leader.
Overall I liked this story. I cannot wait to read more books from this series

It's just a weird mash-up how can you be a "bad-ass" leader of a biker club but hate ruffing up and/or killing and be super sensitive that doesn't work for me and h was no better how can you be an aggressive killer that doesn't trust easily but goes stalker psycho cutting dicks off if the relationship doesn't work. When see always think the worst case scenario is always going to happen, to what to live with your boyfriend and his two kids when you never wanted any or to even meet them. I get that she had a fucked up pass but her transition in character was just to big a jump in what a three to six month period that her and the H were together.

Loved it!!!
Ginger is a kick-ass heroine. She had a rough start in life, grew up way too quickly into a woman who took care of herself and those she held dear. She made mistakes but she owned them. And would do anything for those she considered family. Oz was perfect for her. He was accepting of Ginger, just as she was. He loved her strength, accepted her quirks and her girls, and didn’t ask questions of or judge her past. He was such a sweetie. The moments with his mom and kids and the cats. Adorable. Together they completed each other. I can’t wait for more books in this series and learning more about the Everything Nice Crew and the Heretics.

Everything Nice Club

I love this author's wit in naming the ENC members after spices in reference to the "Sugar and Spice..." nursery rhyme. Ginger was first introduced in the Little Memphis series. Bijou Hunter normally creates funny and quirky female characters. Ginger, however is more of the bad€$$ variety. Oz is the perfect match up for a character and there is lots of chemistry between them. She has a soft side too though and it's reflected through her interactions with Alani and Makoa. As usual with Bijou's books, there are lots of LOLs and I'm looking forward to reading more from this series!

Badass gone soft

This is a good book. It was my first venture into the motorcycle gang genre. It just didn’t get 5 stars because the start of the book is so chaotic. So many characters introduced all at once that, unless there’s something really hard hitting about them later in the book they just remain names, rather than attaching them to a character. Plus the first few chapters seem to be a dick swinging collection of insults and sexual innuendos. This does slow down though and a good romance story pans out. I like the brevity of the chapters too. Perfect for night time reading.

I love this author. Her novels never disappoint and this novel was no exception. I have read all of her previous novels and I love how Ginger gets her own novel. Ginger just about broke my heart, she is a survivor and she came out the other side. I loved her character in Little Memphis series. I love that she was able to have her happy ever after with Oz, but was still a strong badass. I love love love the dialogue and the banter. I pretty much was up all night reading this novel but it was so worth no sleep. I loved this novel. I can't wait to see what this author does next.

Rawlings Heretics MC New Series

I love Bijou’s books/series and have read them all. Her books have a way of getting you so involved in the characters you just can’t put them down until you’ve finished them.

Great start to a new series Oz and his crew and Ginger and her (Everything Nice) crew start off like oil and water but they seem to slowly work together. Oz and Ginger are sort of at odds but the attraction is undeniable and after some bumpy interactions they begin to find their way to HEA. I can’t wait for Clove’s book.

Love a good romance, and this one didn’t disappoint.
Ginger and Oz were a great couple, but I thought Ginger was more Alpha than Oz and I liked that for a change it was refreshing. I loved the push and pull of the relationship between them. I’m hoping we get the stories of the girls club as they have very colourful backgrounds. Drama wise I found it non existent really as Ginger and Oz had enough in the past so I wasn’t missing it.
As always I love this author and read all of her work can’t wait for her next book.

Great book

This isn't your typical motorcycle romance story. This book has it all motorcycle clubs, feisty strong independent young women, alpha biker males, a child with a disability, a father who lives for his children and club, a woman whose life was less than desirable but who made it work for her, plenty of twists and, intense attraction, romance, and a HEA. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters and their story, I can't wait to read the next installment in this series. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Just okay

Not bad but kinda boring. A little silly but not a terribly bad book just somewhat dull. A lot of repeated dialogue or comments from Ginger that I understood but her actions were complete opposite without pause or hesitation. So a lot of whiplash with her saying one thing and in the same breath doing something completely opposite. Plus their declaration of love was so freaking quick for these alpha personalities that it leaves you shaking your head. But all-in-all the book was okay I guess...can’t decide if three stars is to generous.

Another great read!!! I get so excited when this author releases a book, I'm never disappointed, and the wit and fun characters are always so refreshing. Oz and gingers story was fantastic, I'm a huge fan of strong women characters in the books I read, and the alpha men that become obsessed with them. I really can't wait to read more to this series, hoping my favorite yorrew gets a book.

Bijou Hunter is da bomb-diggity!!!

She never disappoints...ever! Finally a book with a bad a@# bit*×! This story works because of the characters. With the perfect amount of give and take nobody gets annoying. I also appreciated that the women's history didn't take over the love story of Oz and Ginger. I really hope that Yarrow gets a story written only the way Bijou Hunter can write!👍💕

I’m looking forward to seeing more in this series because book 1 has sure kicked it into gear with a bang. Great work Bijou!!!
