After learning from the Goddess of Water that Haruno and her party are in jeopardy, our hero Touya sets sail to an underwater city to save them. They finally reunite after a monstrous encounter along the way, only to be met with yet another shocking revelation. Meanwhile, Haruno hasn't forgotten the promise she made long ago—to take a bath together with everyone. Touya's Unlimited Bath can hardly be called just a bath anymore, but this time it'll be filled with more bare skin than ever before!
I gotta go back through this one. Snoozed a bit towards the end.
In terms of just overall structure, it's ok, though I didn't really understand the point of the "fruit of healing" part of the story. Just really seemed thrown in there. Maybe we'll see the new characters that introduced later and that'll have more payoff?
I'm curious if they'll end up going anywhere with these relationships in future volumes. Despite this focusing on him meeting back up with his girlfriend's group, he doesn't get to have too much alone time with her because of their situation, so there's no real advancement of the romance.
The story this time was more about how Haruno became the Goddess of Wind's physical form kinda and Touya went to the capital of Water to rescue her. By the end the battle at the end kinda felt like it was rushed after a big build up then the Goddess of Water just came out of no where and hit the enemies once and all of them went away. The thing leading into a volume 6 of going to find the Price of darkness or the demon lord to find out of Clena is the princess will be interesting if it ever comes out. .... oh yeah they kinda made Clena into Touya's wife in this one.
I really loved this volume more than I was expecting. There are some somewhat big reveals of what happened 500 years ago as well as more adorable side quests with another dragon, but most importantly a few certain characters got their wish. Lots of cool progression this volume, but the main event was the bath. Loooooved the bathing scene this time around.
In many ways, this volume felt like filler, but the second chapter exceptionally so. Still, the characters remain enjoyable, and it was good to finally see everyone together. Now for the last city!
After getting the request for help for Haruno through the Water Goddess, Touya wants to rush out immediately. Calmer minds prevail, and at least he prepares before setting out for the Underwater Capital and deals with whatever threatens Haruno.
Volume 5 continues the story of Touya and his companions along the same lines as the previous parts. It is a light-hearted story with likeable characters, decent (if simple) world building and some wholesome ecchi thrown into the mix. All in all, for its genre it is an enjoyable read.
