Elinor, my granddaughter loves watching Octonauts. I have never watched them, but I bought this book to read to her. The illustrations are very colorful and enjoyable to look at . It teaches children about prehistoric animals. I learned the names of prehistoric animals that I didn't know before. After reading this book she announced that she wants to be a Octonaut ballerina when she grows up !

Octonauts are great kids science learning, what else do you need? Part of a series that I wish had more entries because they are all good, but there’s also a tv show.

March 3, 2026We are so proud of you for reading this wonderful book! You learned something very special - that everyone grows and changes, just like Dunkie did. Sometimes we might feel different from others, but that makes us special and unique. When your friends feel different or don't fit in, you can help them find where they belong, just like the Octonauts helped Dunkie. You are becoming such a great reader. Keep going, sweetheart!

My youngest loves the Octonauts show and books. Each episode or story teaches about a sea creature and/or sea plant life. They are interesting and informative.
This one had to throw in a "millions of years ago" bit which I just didn't read.
This one wasn't our favorite of the Octonaut books.

The octonauts do a great job of educating about aquatic life for children. The book format provides a different way to learn and gives new perspectives on the characters. This book makes great use of colour and reading format.

M loves Octonauts, so when I found out the series was based on books, of course I had to check them out.
This book seems more whimsical and fantastical than the show and the books written since the show was created. The art is beautiful, and the story is fun.
