Chivalrous? Nah.

Virtuous? Not since…well, none of your business.

The difference between me and the Knights of the Round Table? I make medieval look good.

Loren Van Alst is an independent, twenty-first-century woman, an accused forger, a suspected thief, and the last descendant of Sir Galahad of the Arthurian court. To claim her seat at the Round Table and protect her newly found family of modern-day witches, she’ll need to convince the current Arthur and his knights to let a woman take the knights’ trials. But things go sideways when a crazed wizard goes on the loose with a magical spear that can strip a witch of her powers. As if that weren’t enough, the clique of mean girls from middle school arrives in Camelot and turn out to be witch hunters.

To safeguard a future she never knew she wanted, Loren will have to evade the hunters, defeat the wizard, capture the spear, and pass her trials. No one ever said becoming a kick-ass heroine would be easy!

As a whole I enjoyed the book. As I read I felt I was missing some things. Come to find out there is another series with Loren in it not as a main character though. Yes, this can be read without those but I kinda felt confused sometimes about her dying and stuff. I'm like huh? So, that explained it. I liked the funny little lines but sometimes I thought the author tried a little too hard to make it funny and it ended up falling a little flat at the jokes. Loren is an acquired taste. Her personality is different. She has a HUGE ego and thinks she doesnt need to do the work to make it to be a knight. She thought because she can fight and and kick butt, and who her parents were that it was just automatic. She was a bit bratty about that. However, there came a time where she was knocked down a few notches when her cousin got her because of her stupidity and said ego. Oh and another thing...she pretty much thought she was God's gift to men. It was funny a time or two at the beginning but it started to grate after that. This book is missing something though. I mean there was character development which I think there needed to be a smidgen more about the other characters. The world building was interesting but kinda not always clear. I wanted more of a story line though. There really wasnt much to it. There was a lot of detail but not a lot of action which is what I expect from an Urban Fantasy. Its okay but I doubt I'll read more.

I absolutely adored this book and I simply can't wait to get my hands on the next book to find out what happens next!!!

I have always loved stories of King Arthur , the Knights of the round table and Camelot. I have always believed that legends are based on some truth and that truth can be misconstrued to form legends so I loved the fact that in this book you are told what the legends are and also what really happened, the truth. The other thing I loved about this story was that there was a lot of modernisation in it mixing the past and the present together. This book is so imaginative and creative, having visited Tintagel I loved the details of the descriptions, it took me right back to the magical place! It is such a vivid story that will draw the readers right into the heart of the story and trust me, you won't want to leave!!!!

Loren is such an amazing character, I loved her fiery and stubborn nature that undoubtedly gets her into trouble, I understood her inability to trust others and make herself vulnerable. She has so much passion in he and when she cares, she does so deeply and unreservedly. I loved the fact that the Knights of the Round Table are from different walks of life, different places and different times. This makes them so unique and each one has a completely different personality, sometimes causing clashing but they are still family to each other and I think that this was one of the things that I really loved and appreciated about this book, the fact that family doesn't have to be blood related.

I completely and utterly adored this book and can't recommend it highly enough! It is well worth the 5* rating and I am excited to read all of this author's other work!!!!

Great read!

Ines has written a wonderful continuation of Loren Van Alst's story after meeting her in the Nia Rivers series. This book had me laughing and crying from page one to the end. The story continued kind of where the last Nia Rivers story ended with Loren staying behind in the castle with her new found family. The humor and heartbreak throughout the book kept me reading, laughing and crying. I loved the ending and made me want do a fistpump and shout for a fitting happy ending and lead into the next book in the series. Looking forward to it!

Loren cracks me up! Like the accidental badass! She really gets into it by the end though! Family like she’s never had. I can’t say too much or it will ruin it for others, but definitely a story to read.

I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. I have been reading a lot of books lately with an Arthurian tone to them. I am not complaining it just that I have been taking notice of it more and more. There is a lot she has to go through to be able to claim her right place at the Round Table. She will do anything to protect those that she cares about and that includes the witches that she calls family, Witch hunters come to town and force to step up her game and there is a lot in her way that could cause her to fail. Does she give up? Does she save those she cares about? Does she get her seat at the Round Table? You will get the answer to all those question when you read it for yourself. Enjoy.

I love a good Arthurian fantasy so when I read the description of this book, I picked it up right away. I didn’t realize at the time that this is a spin off to the Nia Rivers series I I feel like I missed some references throughout the book. Having said that, this was still an enjoyable tale, written with snarky wit. This is an interesting take on a modern Camelot and I appreciated that the premise was unique to me. Loren is a strong, loyal, and brave main character and I cheered her on as I followed her journey and her resulting personal growth. I’ll definitely pick up the second book but will probably go back and read the Nia Rivers books first, just for context.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout in exchange for an honest review.

If you enjoyed the Nia Rivers books, you are going to love this off shoot of the series. This one follows the journey of Loren, the fashion loving, tomb raiding, sword swinging side kick! It's her tale of being at Camelot. She wants that Knight's seat of Galahad at the round table. The Arthur thinks she is not ready for it and makes her a squire to work her way up to knight just as the rest of them. Things don't quite work out the way either of them want when her nemesis from boarding school shows up and turns out to be the nemesis of all witches in general. Loved the story, and can't wait to see her go after her ex in book two. Watch out Spartan, Loren's coming to get you!

A woman heroine who loves to go clothes shopping loves shoes and she has to find the Spear of Destiny to take her place in Camelot to be worthy of being a knight , what more could you ask for?. Loren is a sassy stubborn heroine who gets into all kinds of trouble and I loved it. It’s an emotional kind of read it had me laughing and shedding a few tears, a fantastic story and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book from this author. I love the knights of the round table and this is a modern version of the story and I enjoyed it immensely. A fantastic read and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

Snarky, fun, and witty dialog keep this book whipping along at a quick pace. I didn't always care for Loren (she has a tendency to leap before she looks- and I can't relate to the shopping/clothes thing), but the story kept me reading and I grew to like her better over time. This is an offshoot of the Nia Rivers series, which I've never read, and I found the worldbuilding interesting and well-explained. Not a series I'll continue with, but I can see the charm and many other readers will probably appreciate Loren more than I do.

Loren isn't a sidekick any more! I loved this book! I love Loren and her snarky, fly-by-the-seat-of-her-pants kind of attitude. There was so much laughter happening while I was reading this, and my kids kept looking at me like I had finally lost it, but I loved every minute of it. Having the story revolve around the King Arthur and Knights of the Round Table tale was genius. I really enjoy the myth mixed with reality idea, and the blending was wonderful. This is one series that I hope to see a lot more books in.

Loren - Nia Rivers' sidekick has stayed behind in Camelot after they found the Templar Scrolls.
She has her own adventure with her Spear of Destiny and the characters that turn up in the Scrolls book.
And learns what it is to be a Knight of the Round Table - which is turns out she is - hereditarily.
So far so good. I enjoyed this as Loren is a fun character - prone to trouble. But I am worried that her stories will become as formulaic as Nia's. We shall see.

Enjoyable tale of modern Camelot. Loren is the great-granddaughter of Sir Galahad and as such, needs to prove herself before she can claim her seat at the round table. Mischief and mayhem abound as she tries to control her magic and retrieve the Spear of Destiny. Can she succeed, or will Camelot fall? This is a lovely story with a moral to it. I liked the ending.

Dame Galahad, a Knight of the Round Table? Oh most definitely a high five to that! This is her story and the start of her misadventures. Trying to fit into a world ruled by chivalrous immortals means proving she's got what it takes, no matter what they throw her way! Loren is sassy, smart, strong willed and sexy. How can she not succeed? I loved reading this book!

Power to All Women!

I absolutely loved this well written book! Wonderful characters, each and every one. The mixture of current and medieval times is fabulously seamless. The strength and clumsiness work well to make the various scenes humorously side-splitting. I can't wait to see what happens next to the first female knight in Arthur's court! This book is a MUST READ that is great for YA and most other people, some mature "talk" but still a clean novel.

What a great start

Loren is just back from the dead and of course the discovery she descends from Galahad's lineage. She is so trying to make a place for herself in Camelot but the boys are just so old fashioned. Then comes a new threat and Loren wants to show everyone her worth but she ends up learning something herself.

Epic twist on an Arthurian tale in Camelot. I found out after reading this book that it is an offshoot from a different series which makes a little sense since there were several places that I was completely lost. There was plenty of snarky and witty dialog that kept this book moving at a quick pace.

A knight of the round table?

Last in the Galahad line, Loren must prove her worth, to Arthur and the rest of the knights, in order to take her grandfather's seat at the round table. Based on modern times, tied to the past, including witches and witch hunters, with a great setting and characters, this is a wonderful read!

Loren vs. The Clique

Yeah there is a spear & a sword and a sea monster...oh and shoes!

But really you will cheer her own because those chicks need to be taken down a peg or two.

Loren is a good and loving and loyal.

Can she find a way to get as good as she gives?

Loren is awesome

She's a magical knight who has never belonged anywhere and has no idea how to be a member of a family. In this book she must come into her own and earn trust and respect. She also must learn how to trust and respect.
