Blending philosophy and humor, here are 250 thought-provoking, challenging, and strange questions—from the profound “what is the meaning of life?” to the playful “is a hotdog a sandwich?” and everything in between.
Life is complex, confusing, and weird. But have you ever stopped to think about just how weird the world around you can be?
For Which invention has caused the most fire, the wheel, or the internet? If a werewolf landed on the moon, would it touch down as a man or a wolf? When sitting at a movie theater, which armrest is yours? What’s the most untrustworthy animal? Would you rather kiss a person with jellybeans for teeth or a banana for a tongue?
In Questions for Deep Thinkers , you’ll find 250 thought-provoking, challenging, and sometimes completely ridiculous questions that you (probably) never thought to even ask. Perfect for large group parties, hanging out with friends, or if you just want a moment to ponder some of life’s absurdities, this collection of head-scratching “deep questions” will leave you either in an argument or saying, “hmm, I never thought of that…”
Don’t let the world’s most pressing mysteries pass you by!
What really intrigued me with this book were definitely some of the questions that my sister sent me and so I chose to give it a chance. The only problem with deep questioning books like this is that they aren't meant to be read from cover-to-cover but instead read with a friend or perhaps even a group although there is nothing wrong for the individual who hopes to learn more about their own thinking process.
At the start of my reading with this book I was able to skim some questions and put my husband on trial to see his responses. Unfortunately I did have to complete this book by myself and as intriguing as these questions may be I find that quite a few of them don't hold my interest enough for me to want to explore my own responses to them or some are so apparently obvious to me I don't need to think twice about the answer such as whether I would want to spend the day with Elizabeth I or Beyoncé.
The questions were broken down into sections with each section having a small introduction as to what type of questions may be found there. Furthermore each section was also given a starting question while on the opposite page was an example of some debate points for those who may need an idea on how to get started. To me I wish there had been a few more of these sample types instead of a few of the questions for I found the points intriguing.
All in all most of them are pretty decent questions whether they are actual deep questions or just random pop trivia. And even though I don't find this book inspiring or life-changing, I wouldn't mind having a copy laying around for game night with family and/or friends. Otherwise as a regular reading book it can definitely be passed for more substantial fare.
Full disclaimer: this book was co-written by my husband! I found it funny, insightful, and surprisingly, a page-turner. (I always wanted to see what the next question would be.) A good book for parties, but you can also read it alone, wrapped in a blanket, sitting on a couch, like I did.
It okay. Should be way more questions in this book. I used this book to understand my work colleagues better and my family members. It even great to ask yourself these questions to see, hear and feel how your thought process thinks. Great if your doing impromptu talks or table topics at toastmasters international
