Have you ever felt like you don't belong with your own kind? Been scared to be yourself? Well, join the club.
I'm a werewolf, forbidden to shift by my father, the Alpha. My beast locked away in a cage that weakens every day. A confrontation at training forces my beast to the surface and sends me on the run for my life. It turns out I'm not all werewolf, but part vampire too. My mortal enemy.
Does this mean my whole life has been a lie? How do I move forward with my truth, when my blood is nothing but false.
*This book is 50k long and contains coarse language, sexual situations and is a Reverse Harem (meaning one girl and multiple guys).
Hi Everyone. If you're reading this, it means you want to know more about me, which is good because I like to share. Let's see, I'm a 24 year old writer who started writing because the voices in my head told me to. I would have dream after dream that would play on repeat until I would write them out. And that's how most of my books are born. It all starts with a dream. um what else? I'm a big dog lover. I have a little shih Tzu called Mikey who likes to pop up on my Facebook page during giveaways. I have a beautiful little girl, Allison who has started her first year of school this year. She loves reading just as much as I do and seems to enjoy paranormal too. Feel free to Facebook stalk me to find out anything and everything about me
It was meh. The storyline and characters were very underdeveloped; it read like a rough first draft. I like the premise. I just think it needs to be worked on more.
This started off good and I was interested to see how this young lady will tackle the harsh truths of her origins. I love my vampires, so despite appreciating all other supernatural creatures, when I come across those particular species, somethings calls to me instantly. Here though, the FMC is the hybrid combination of a vampire and wolf, who technically was not supposed to exist, due to the ongoing tension between the vampires and the wolves. As engaging as the premise was, I did find the characters lacking in terms of depth and development. The dialogues felt very immature to me and the direct pull between the FMC and the MMCs was rather instant, which kind of made the romance nonexistent to me. I will not be continuing the series, but I do hope other readers enjoy the story.
paranormal reverse harem story between hybrid wolf/vampire female and three male vampires.
Appreciated the superficial story line but would have enjoyed more depth and attention to details. Too many voids left me with a Swiss cheese aftertaste.
All of white's books are like book crack for me. It's not like they're the best written books or the most unique stories, but they fill something in my soul and I eat them up :). This was no exception. However, I couldn't quite give it four stars because of emeralds reaction to the other woman drama. I hate when female characters give all the power up the the men to decide whether to be with them or not. Hmmm. It's not even that, but when a guy initially chooses the other woman and the MFC doesn't get mad at him at all?? I'm not explaining it well . I guess if you know, you will know what I mean.
Another fantastic book by author Tamara White! I loved everything about this series. Emerald and her sexy guys! Such a badass ending too! I can’t wait to read more of this world. So happy to hear what the author planned for a certain best friend! Five glittery stars!
OMG! What a fantastic adventure! You get sucked in and refuse to put it down from the first to the last word! You feel like you are right beside the characters experiencing their anguish, betrayal, fear, pain, and desperation! Your emotions are so tied to them you suffer right along with them! Outstanding author, a new favorite!
I really enjoyed this story. The characters are fun and sassy. The world the author created as interesting and different. On top of that, the romance was smoking hot. All and all it was a great book.
I believe this will be a series, butt for now this book does not end on a cliff hanger. The main female lead is funny and kicks but and the story line is at a great pace.
This book scored a whopping 12.64 on the "Extremely" Scale. Sophomoric writing but an interesting premise. Too much telling and not showing. Much of the telling either didn't make sense or defied any sort of logic. Despite these issues, I started to like the men toward the end of the book. I think that this writer has potential, but could stand a workshop or some buddy writers to help her out. As published, this is nowhere near polished work. I found myself muttering, "for fucks sake", quite a lot.
Extremely Scale = the number of pages/# of times "extremely" (or other overused adverb) appears = score
Can be a good indicator of a book that's gonna piss you off.
So this was totally unbelievably amazing, in such a sneaky way! I was not expecting it to affect me this much!
False blood is a story based around Emerald, a wolf who has never quite been accepted, never quite been like everybody else, and never quite been welcomed in her family by anyone but her dad. She always put it down to being half human and learnt to survive. Emerald has never been allowed to shift, but one unfortunate situation has led to her being on the run, trying to find two people she never even knew existed. On the run, she encounters some not so pleasant people and needs to call in a favour, the favour comes in the form of 3 very sexy Vampire men. As you can imagine, the fun only starts there.
Emerald, damn i love this character. She just cant catch a break but she doesnt let that stop her and i love her so much for that. She is full of spirit, knows when to pull back and when to get her back up. Her whole life she has had to hide a huge part of herself, and i love that she is finally starting to open up. I have to say, im deeply curious about what is so scary about her wolf that even her dad is scared of it; its so interesting! I also cannot wait to see how she develops this whole new side of herself. Now for the lovely men of her group, lets start with Dev. Dev was so lovely a character, as soon as he realised what was going on with his relationship with Emerald, he went all in, no hesitations. I loved that about him, he just threw his carefree personality in and hoped for the best. It was a really nice thing to read, just the blatant acceptance of it. As for Nik; i really liked him, but i feel like we didnt get to learn a lot about him. He was the one that took a bit of a backseat to it all, but once he made the decision, he too was all in. I cannot wait to learn more about him. Now there is Talon, my god i wanted to punch and hug him with equal measure. I totally understand his reasoning, i even respect them, but that doesnt mean i liked them. But by the end of the book, he was my favourite. Everything about him was amazing.
The one character i will mention that isnt part of the immediate group is Britt. She was hilariously awesome and exactly what Em needed to get through all the crap in her life. I cannot wait to read more about Britt and her history.
Tamara, this book was freaking amazing!!! i flew through every single page and did not want it to end. I need the next one now please!!
Emerald has never been like the rest of the pack. Raised by the Alpha, the man she always called father, she didn't fit in with the other werewolves. They are thin and tall, she's curvy. They all have black hair and blue eyes, she's a strawberry blond with green eyes. She's so different her father has forbidden her to shift. She keeps "her beast" locked away. An incident at training forces her beast to the surface and her father has to send her away in order to save her life. He also reveals her big secret. Emmy is half werewolf / half vampire.. Now she's on the run to her real parents. Will they accept her or will she be cast out? Her journey to meet her parents changes her life in ways that she couldn't even begin to imagine. This is an outstanding book!
This is the third series from Tamara White. I am a fan of both her Evelyn Storm series and her Wolf Trial series, but False Blood may be my favorite book of her's yet. It grabs you from page one and you cannot put it down until the final word. Emerald is a beautiful, insecure girl who wants to fit in, to find a home, and to be accepted and loved. She's so easy to identify with. The vampires in her life are YUMMY! Dev is perfect from the start and Nik joins him soon after. I never really forgave Talon for his actions despite his reasons, but if he makes Emmy happy, she can keep him. Her parents and dear friend Britt are wonderful, while Xander, Brendon, and Heather are equally horrible. It makes for a fun read having the characters firmly established as good or bad.
This is a book full of 'feels'. There's danger, pain, rejection, jealousy, hurt; there's hope, acceptance, passion, and love. There's werewolves, vampires, one very special hybrid, and witches. There's sexy times. Whatever you want, this book has it! Like I said, outstanding! I loved it!
First off let me say that I need the next book like yesterday! I love Tamara White and everything she writes and this was no exception.
false blood is a story based around Emerald, a wolf that has never quite been accepted in the pack and has been targeted by all except her dad, and there is only so much he can do to protect her. She always put it down to being half human and learnt to survive. After her first shift her dad never wanted her to shift again especially in front of of other, this was to protect her. of course her not shifting didn't help things in the pack. She is so strong but has to hide it, when she shifts the amount of power her beast projects would frighten most and make them want to kill her.
I want to go into more details about the story and all the characters in it, but I think you should read and find out how amazing it is for yourself.
Emerald is both cute and kickass and I'm already I love with some of the other characters already. I also want to punch some and want another to have her own spin off series about her story.
I feel the best stories draw you in and attach you to them sometimes with you even knowing it, and this story definitely did that to me. This story has twist and turns, excitement, danger and drama, humour and of course some romance. This book is the whole package a fabulous start to a new series. I will be waiting on the edge of my seat for the next one. Everyone should give this book a go.
I loved this book, honestly as much as I enjoyed the first Wolf Trial book, I preferred this book ten fold!!! I love Emerald, and her three guys are awesome!! Each guy has a distinctive personality and I enjoyed seeing the relationships progress slowly. My only complaint (and it's not even a big one) is that I would have enjoyed a little more "sexy time" between Emerald, Dev, Nik, and Talon. i.e. I wish they'd had sex in this book, lol. The slow burn was awesome but then I felt a little cheated that it didn't "go anywhere," I also would have enjoyed a "throw down" between Emerald and Heather where Emerald effectively trounced the beyotchy she wolf's butt!!! Heather deserved a solid smack down for her behavior and I didn't think that ending was satisfying enough, not after putting Talon through 5 years of H-E-double hockey sticks!!! But overall I was THOROUGHLY entertained and CANNOT WAIT FOR THE SECOND IN THIS SERIES!!! Frankly I'd like the sequel to come out before anything else, I'm REALLY eager to see Emeralds relationships firmly cemented! Not to mention she and Talon have a lot of lost time to make up for 😊😉
This book centers primarily around a character named Emerald who grew up in a wolf pack, but never felt like she fit in. The one time she shifted, something so bizarre occurred, and her father, seeing the said occurrence, told her never to shift again. Want to know about her shift? Well you got to read False Blood. After an unusual series of events, she leaves the pack and comes across three hot people (no spoilers from me) and from there, her whole life shifts on to a whole new track. I had no complaints about the book. I am most definitely ready for the next book. The steam level in False Blood is a 5 and for me that means ,hot and sexy times perfectly balanced with a big twist in the story along with characters that come alive in the book. This story encompasses what I want in the perfect Reverse Harem story. Loved it and want more Tamara. Editing was great and the story line grabbed you and wouldn't let go. Reading this book made the time fly by and I never wanted it to end.
Such a great beginning to a new series. Emerald is a great combination of sweet and strong. Despite the prejudice she has grown up with she maintains an optimistic outlook on life and a moral compass most we envy.
She meets her men on the 3rd night she's on the run from her pack to meet her birth parents when her safety is threatened. Talan is all alpha male, broody and sometimes you just want to throat punch him because he's a jerk. Nik is the goofball with a big personality and mischievous twinkle. Dev is the reliable one who stands beside her from the very beginning.
There is insta-attraction, but some major obstacles have to be overcome. Her parents are amazing and nothing but accepting and supportive of her differences. Long lost friends are reunited and of course the ----- that happens at the end. (Sorry can't say or it will spoil the story.)
Another amazing book by the very talented Tamara White. Emerald is picked on by the pack because she looks different to everyone else, putting it down to being half wolf shifter and half human. She is also the strongest after her pack leader, if not stronger. The pack leader being her father.
However, in a training fight something happens and Emerald loses control, the next thing she knows she is on the run, under her fathers Instructions to look for the vampire queen of all people, having to call in a favour owed to her father she meets three gorgeous guys and that is where all the excitement starts.
This story has twists and turns, excitement, drama and danger. There is also humour and romance.
This book is a complete and utter page turner, a fabulous start to a new series and I highly recommend you pick up this awesome book.
This book was awesome! I gave it 5 stars cuz it really deserves it. It's well written and well edited so there werent any spelling or grammar mistakes that make it hard for you to get lost in a book. The author used humor pretty well, and her writing is great in a way that draws you right into the story, making you feel like you're in the world she created. There's some sexy times, and what there is, is hot. There's drama but not excessive amounts, and there's a bit of fighting to keep it interesting. I love that it's not all angsty, a lot of angst in a book has never been my thing, personally. I really can't wait to read the next book in the series! If you like paranormal romance, or paranormal reverse harem romance, i definitely recommend reading this book!
Just a bit of a fun adventure. Also fairly predictable but so are a lot of very popular sitcoms.
4 stars for no cliffhanger but almost dropped to 3 stars because Xander and Brendan just disappeared. Can't imagine killing Brendan would be okay with Emerald, solely for her father's sake. Of course that'd leave him as the next alpha. Oh, joy... Incarceration at least, pending whatever? Surely, the vampires, witches, and local packs wouldn't just let the incursion go without a strong response? Especially considering the perceived crime? Maybe in the next book?
I have had this book in my library for a while, and decided to give it a try. Honestly, I was disappointed only that it had taken me so long to get to this story. I truly enjoyed this book. The premise was interesting, and the characters were fun. I really liked Emerald. I'm looking forward to seeing how her relationships with her men develop. I will say that Talon was sort of a challenge for me. I understand that he was this good guy trying to do the right thing, but it felt sort of immature in the way that he went about it. He just sort of rubbed me wrong. I hope that he matures as the story progresses. Overall, I loved this story, and I cannot wait for book 2.
I enjoyed this book. There were some places where I struggled with certain scenes as I felt they were a bit too unrealistic or rushed, however it still has a good story base running throughout and that was kept up and was what I enjoyed. I think that there may be a book two in this series, although not 100% sure, however I would read it and hopefully the author may change my mind on one of the males as even by the end of this book I did not warm up to him at all. I did like the main female character though and would like to see more of her development in future books.
How does Ms. White keep doing it!? She's an amazingly intuitive and imaginative writer! I seriously doubt I'll ever get enough of her work. I never know what to expect when I begin one of her books, but I always know I'll end up loving her characters and her story ♡ I cannot wait until the second book releases!! Em is just so fun and feisty! Who wouldn't adore her? Her three vamps are literally a dream come true for Em and for the reader too!! Loved the chemistry, the dynamics of the relationships and this was one killer plot! More please ♡♡♡♡
Some of the plot moved too quickly and relied on too much telling. For example the animosity between Emerald, Xander and Brendan (anyone else catch the Buffy reference in the latter two names?) wasn't really shown. Emerald mentions there was some bad blood and then crazy weird climax occurs. It just felt like the animosity between characters needed more time and scenes to develop organically. Overall I liked it, but it was definitely one of those books that feels too rushed.
This paranormal RH is first in the Blood Series by Tamara White. It features a sassy hybrid Wolf/Vamp and her 3 vamp soul-ties. Through this book we follow Emeralds budding relationship with her soul ties, Em reconnecting with family and friends from her past, prejudices against vamps and specifically Em because she is a hybrid, and cattiness from the girlfriends of her soul ties mates. All in all this is a fun, exciting book which I couldn’t put down once I started it.
I wasn't sure I'd be able to get into this story, not sure how a short story would make me feel connected to characters. It was a unique and great storyline idea, and silly inner monologue that made me pause and laugh, but I was left wanting more from the characters! There's no sexy time necessarily in this story, which makes sense for how short it was. I can't wait to read more. I only wish I had more time to learn about the characters before their union, I hope to see more of that in the next book!

Emerald thought she was the daughter of the Alpha but apparently she is actually an orphaned hybrid. Because of this she has to go on the run to find her mom's family. She finds them, along with a few males that she becomes supernaturally tied to.
I didn't mind the start of this book. Seemed pretty interesting, then it took a complete dive for me. It completely left the story of a werewolf/vampire hybrid behind to basically discuss how and when Emerald would be sleeping with several guys. Which I'm generally not opposed to but I also enjoy the story to tie in.
