René Goscinny (1926 - 1977) was a French author, editor and humorist, who is best known for the comic book Asterix, which he created with illustrator Albert Uderzo, and for his work on the comic series Lucky Luke with Morris (considered the series' golden age).
Judulnya kayaknya plesetan dari 'Is no good'.
This Arabian Nights comedy was a creation of Rene Goscinny, also responsible for Asterix, Lucky Luke and the Petit Nicolas books. The basic premise is that the Vizier Iznogoud works for a rather bored and lazy Caliph, and is constantly plotting the Caliph's overthrow. This never quite works, but the plots are pretty spectacular. There is only the occasional bit of magic, usually for humorous intent, but it is still a fantasy, with the occasion wizard, djinn and so on. In this volume, the Caliph has finally realized that some [i.e., all] of the people seem to be afraid of Iznogoud, and think he is disturbingly evil. And so, being too good for his own good, instead of beheading or firing the evil Vizier, he sets out on a quest for something to cure him of being evil. Sadly, the Caliph is no better at these things than his Vizier... That is only one of the stories in this volume, which also includes Martian "invasion," an onset of sleeping sickness, and a woman whose face has a truly unusual curse on it. Chock full of gags and puns.
Di buku yang satu ini pengarang memasukkan Bajak Laut "Asterix" dan masukkan kisah mitos Yunani, mungkin Odiseus, saya kira2 aja, maklum belum baca Odiseus :) Dannn... khalifah keluar istana boww... biasanya cuma molor aja kerjanya XD
