Skye MacKinnon is a USA Today & International Bestselling Author whose books are filled with strong heroines who don't have to choose.
She embraces her Scottishness with fantastical Scottish settings and a dash of mythology, no matter if she's writing about Celtic gods, cat shifters, or the streets of Edinburgh.
When she's not typing away at her favourite cafe, Skye loves dried mango, as much exotic tea as she can squeeze into her cupboards, and being covered in pet hair by her tiny black cat (who's secretly a demon).
This is the 5th and final book in the first set of serials of Winter Princess. The omnibus will release on 10/21 and you can pre-order it now.
Picking up right where we left off in the 4th serial, Wyn and her Guardians have just entered her mothers realm. Boy did they get a surprise with that! Finally the journey to see her mother has ended. What's really going on though? Is her mother really the heartless woman she's always believed? Or did she have her reasons for being so distant?
While we do still have Wyn and her Guardians in this serial, we spend more time focusing on the relationship with Wyn and her mother. I have to say I was surprised by Beira. She was not what I was expecting at all. Wyn also has that tiny problem with her magic going on. She shows great strength and determination in this book. I think she shows a lot of personal growth here.
There are still some questions that need to be answered and I'm counting down for the next set to begin so we can get there. The ending on this one was super intense and will leave you like... What just happened?
With Wyns arrival she has to adapt to a lot of new things, but thankfully she has her awesome guardians for support. Learning more about Wyns new world and her background is more than fascinating and leaves you craving for more! Her struggle with the relationship between her mother and herself is realistic and let's you feel with Wyn. The end was so good that I'm still thinking what could be meant...thanks for that 😱🤔 Now I want the next book even more, it's killin me!
Arrival of Winter...amazing! MacKinnon has taken us on a magical journey in this one. The imagery and awe of her arrival in the Realm is breathtaking. Wyn's story is only just beginning it seems and let me tell you it's shaping up to be a hell of a one! You won't want to miss this installment!
As always Skye writes another amazing book! This is the fifth book in a serial. Wyn has finally made it home and of course more mayhem occurs. I love How easy the relationship is between Wyn & her guardians. Now she just needs to establish one with her mother. Can't wait for the next book!
Um, I'm sorry, is that it? That's all we get for now? That's just ridiculous. The whole episode did not make any sense at all, the main character behaved bratty and childish, nothing was explained (even though I kind of hoped that we'll finally get some sort of answers) and I have no idea what to make of Wyn's "mother". I think I'm done here.
I feel like I have slowly been dying for more of Wyn and her Guardians for ever! Thankfully I was not disappointed when the fifth instalment of this book popped up in my kindle.
The story picks ups literally straight after the end of the last, naked and very confused at a certain appendage. The plot of this fifth Instalment follows Wyn and her Guardians after they've finally made it to her Mothers Castle. I loved this episode of the book, it felt like around every page there was a new price of the puzzle being revealed!
The guardians took a bit of a step back from the story in this episode, I think primarily because a lot of it was about Wyn finding her own strength and about other developing relationships in the book (mainly Beira and Wyn). I loved that her mother wasn't a heinous cow that I thought she would be, and I'm really interested in finding out what made her make the decisions she had to.
As per usual, the book was extremely well written, and you felt everything that the characters felt and saw everything that they felt.
I literally just need more of these amazing characters! Skye gimme!!!!
Picking up where we last left us, Wyn and the guardians are still on their way to the Winter Realm. She is about to meet her mother!!!
I have been waiting for this moment for a while. . . 4 books ago to be exact hehe, and Skye did not fail to deliver a wonderful interaction between her mother and the feelings that she has for her. We have another book that is captivating and Skye does a wonderful job of keeping you intrigued and glued to the story. the only upsetting thing was the ending. . . The fact that I didn't want it to end and WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN!!!!!!
I can't wait for the next instalment because I have to find out how everything is going to play out and how her relationship with her mother will progress, if it does and what other spectacular powers Wyn will possess. Plus I need to know more about Wynter, there is still so much that we don't know and I need answers. NOW
Look I get that these books are serials, but it just doesn't work. And no, it isn't because it's a serial, I've read plenty of other serials and liked them. The problem is that I feel like I'm constantly on the edge of a precipice just waiting to tip on over.
And I'm still waiting.
I feel like a broken record saying this but every installment had been good, the general premise is good, but the way they're structured hampers the overall flow.
Personally I think if the author bashed out the complete story, and worked with a good editor, then the resulting story would be truly excellent.
This is the fifth and last episode of Winter Princess, which will shortly be an Omnibus and be the first book in the Winter Princess series. But dont worry theres more to come!
Wyn has finally arrived to her mothers realm after so so much struggle and pain and heartbreak. But not it all over. The battle with the demons has broken something in Wyn. She can no longer access her magic and no one seems to know how to help her. Not even her mother who Wyn doesn't know how to take with her personality and acting hot and cold towards her. But the Danger isn't over.things are not all safe....
I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review
Wyn, still cursing her luck, has finally arrived beyond the stones. That's the one thing that's gone right so far. Currently she's naked, sporting new wings, unable to access her magic and the crew that was promised to be there on her arrival are AWOL. And it looks like there's even more fun on the horizon with incidents that happen once she reaches the castle. And what is up with Crispin??
Skye does it again! This may be a serial set of novellas but they are packed full of humor, intrigue and interest.
I received a free advanced reader copy of this book and voluntarily decided to review it
Another great instalment of Wyn and her guardians as they reach her mothers land and home. Wyn is nervous about meeting her mother and still a little angry too
Wyn has a lot to deal with, her mother, her feelings, the problem with her magic and trying to integrate within this new magical world
Full of excitement and drama it's a thrilling conclusion to part one. For those who do not like serials the omnibus is available to pre-order for parts one to five as one book
Arrival of Winter is the fifth episode and the last in book one. I have absolutely loved this serial. Skye really takes us on a magical journey in her story. I look forward to what is installed next. The imagery of what the Relm looks like is amazing. Wyn has finally made it home and of course it is not smooth. Wyn has a lot to deal with, her mother, her feelings, the problem with her magic and trying to fit in within a magical world. This episode really is a thrilling conclusion to part one. If you have not read Winter Princess yet grab the omnibus it is a story you shouldn’t miss.
The 5th continuation of the Winter Princess serial is action packed & well-thought of. Finally Wyn meets her mother, the Mother of all Gods & is stuck with a problem with her powers. Beira was an interesting character to say the least. She would go from hot to cold in minutes just depending on who she was speaking too. But i found it almost cliche of how she almost died. Over-all i loved the plot & i cannot wait to see what happens in the next book!!
I received a free ARC copy in an exchange for an honest review!

I love this series and I'm gland there will be an omnibus of the first five books. Wynter, her guardians and even her mother are such amazing characters. The story is so good that you just can't stop reading. But the individual stories are so short, it's just a tease. But I'm addicted and am anxiously waiting for the next book, as the story keeps getting more and more exciting.
I must say that I highly enjoyed this book. It kind of answered some of the questions we had hanging at the end the last one but created even more. We still don’t know certain things that we would all like to know. And I must admit I was happy to find out that her mother was a bit different than I thought she was. All in all I highly enjoyed this book and I cannot wait until the next one
I have loved this whole serial from the beginning. I was hoping for a bit more sexy time between Wyn and her men since we seemed to have crossed that very hot and colorful barrier. I really liked the development between Wyn and her mother. Beira turns out to be different then what we were lead to believe and I’m glad. I need more and seriously can’t wait for Winter Heiress.

This is the last book of a serial. So while it sums up the story it also leaves you wanting the next story.
The characters in this serial has been it's strength and the final instalment is no exception with the development of her mother and the other gods, while still allowing our heroine and her hero's to shine.
