***MISADVENTURES ARE STANDALONE ROMANCES THAT CAN BE READ IN ANY ORDER***

Straitlaced freshman Zooey Cartwright has arrived at UCLA determined to have a heck of a lot more fun in college than she did in high school. What’s the first item on Zooey’s agenda before classes start in two days? Losing her pesky V card. She’s definitely not looking for a boyfriend, so where can Zooey find the right guy to do the deed and move along without a backward glance? At a party thrown by a bunch of football players, of course.

Enter Tyler Caldwell. A beast on the field and off, cocky as heck, and often wearing T-shirts with sayings like “God’s Gift to Womankind,” Tyler is most definitely not boyfriend material.

After a make-out session with Tyler leaves Zooey entirely unsatisfied, she is determined never to see him again. But her schedule lands her in not one but two of his classes, and it doesn’t take long before Tyler is giving Zooey exactly what she wants—and a whole lot more she never bargained for. Can Zooey surrender her body to this bad boy without giving him her heart, too?

I don’t want to give away too much but this was surprisingly delightful and heartfelt albeit the ending felt a bit rushed, or maybe i just shamelessly wanted more of Tyler and Zooey 🤷🏻‍♀️👉🏻👈🏻

this is random but when Tyler took charge in bed but not in an alpha, testosterone-concentrated, typa way:
“Excellent. Lie back, baby. You don’t need to do a thing. Just relax and I’ll handle everything.”
me:

how refreshing✨

This will probably be the only Lauren Rowe book i’ll ever love bc her other works are meh imo :/

Note:
- Hero has a ‘player’ reputation and heroine’s a virgin

Misadventures of a College Girl was my first Lauren Rowe book and I’m pretty sure I’m a fan already! This was such a fun book that left a smile on my face the entire time I listened!

Zooey is an inexperienced college freshman and decides on her first night there, she’s going to find someone who knows what they’re doing and get the deed over with. She finds Tyler Caldwell, a notorious player, on and off the football field.

These two end up making out at a party, but it doesn’t go farther. Then they get paired up as partners in a class and have to start spending more and more time together. It’s decided that for a few weeks, Tyler will teach Zooey everything he knows and she won’t be so inexperienced anymore.

Tyler and Zooey’s chemistry is insane! Even though both of them agree this relationship can’t really go anywhere due to their future careers, these two can’t seem to stay away from one another. They have such a connection. I loved them both but Tyler… Tyler was the absolute best.

I listened to the audiobook and it was narrated by the author herself. Lauren Rowe did an amazing job narrating. I hope she narrates more of her books because she’s so talented! I had a blast listening to this book. It made me smile, laugh, and swoon. I can’t wait to get to more from Ms. Rowe.

If you’re looking for a new adult sports romance that’s sweet, swoony, steamy, and will have you laughing out loud, pick up Misadventures of a College Girl. Tyler and Zooey’s story was fantastic.

Misadventures of a College Girl is full of cheesy lines and cliche tropes, but it was fun, I read it in one sitting and had a blast. That's all I need sometimes.

I smile broadly. "Does that mean I'm a lifelong memory now?" Tyler strokes my hair for a moment, looking deep in thought. He gently stretches a coiled strand of my hair taut, releases it, and watches it go boing. "You already were."

Did I say that this book is full of cliche tropes? Well, Zooey Cartwright (h) is a virgin and goes to a party to find the most douchebag of a guy to lose her virginity too, because with them she knows she's not going to fall in love with & they can make her first time pleasurable. Cue, Tyler Caldwell (H), he enters the room with a "God's Gift to Womankind" shirt and their fate was sealed.

But once Zooey and Tyler reach his bedroom, it's not going as planned, since Tyler finds out that Zooey is still a virgin and they start a debate about the sanctity of virginity. They have a whole ass conversation about cartoon elephants and it's safe to say that the mood is ruined. LOL.

To Zooey's mortification it's not the last time she sees Tyler. They have two classes together and lucky for her in both classes they have to do assignments together. With every day, the attraction is getting worse and they agree to sleep together for 5 weeks where Tyler will teach Zooey everything she needs to learn, but after that they go their separate ways.

•⋅⋅•⋅⋅•⋅ LOVE •⋅⋅•⋅⋅•⋅

➵ Zooey. She knows what she wants and she's going after that and that's a girl after my own heart. <3

➵ Tyler. He was a genuine guy with a good heart who always wanted the best for Zooey. Tyler is also super annoying, but the kind of annoying that I stan. 😂

"One thing you should know about me is I'm always striving to improve myself as a human being. Not just as a football player or athlete, but also as a man. So I apprciate you giving me something to meditate on. Oh, I meditate. Did I mention that? Helps me clear my rambling mind."
"Great. Glad to hear it. You're the freaking Dalai Lama. Maybe next time you meditate, you should think about being less of a dick to 'nerds'."
"Yeah, that's definitely the take-away from this life lesson, for sure."

➵ the romance. I love it when the couple is bickering like an married couple and there is plenty of that with Tyler and Zooey. They were so cute together ahhhh I just want to squish their cheeks!!

➵ the conflict. that's something that I liked and disliked at the same time. What I liked about it was that Zooey and Tyler broke up, because of external circumstances (both were going to different ways in different states) and I feel like it was handled in a realistic way, because most sport college romances end up with the couples working in the same city and everything is easy peasy and that's not how life is. So I liked that Tyler and Zooey spend time apart, while still pining for each other. Boy, did that make my heart ache for them.

"I love you, Zooey. Okay? I love you. But the thing is, I've come to realize that doesn't matter."

➵ the epilogue ahahahdlfdjkf so cute!!! Kids are adorable. ✨

•⋅⋅•⋅⋅•⋅ DISLIKE •⋅⋅•⋅⋅•⋅

➵ the endearment "beaver". I don't want to hear/read/see/feel "You're my beaver. My adorable, weird, sexy, talented, funny, sexpot of an eager beaver." EVER again. Periodt.

➵ the conflict. Because of it, there were so many time-jumps in the second half of the book. One time jump is fine, but several one chapter after another is annoying. What was even more annoying is that I had to figure out, within the text, how much time has passed, why can't the author just say that at the beginning of a chapter like "1,5 years later" instead of trying to hide it within the chapter and we have to figure it out. It's irritating me (maybe that's just my pet peeve). I have enough problems as it is, I don't have time to figure out the timeline and how everything fits together. 🙃

➵ I hated Tyler's knee injury, why do bad things keep happening to good people. 😤 can you shatter knees of rapists and serial killer out there please, and leave the Tyler Cardwells of this world in peace to play football. 🤚

"It's all going to work out for us, pretty baby. And you know why? Because we're written in the stars."

Would recommend Misadventures of a College girl if:
→ you like Lauren Layne's kind of books
→ you like easy banter
→ you want a sweet, easy and quick read

“Gosh, when the universe works this hard to put two ridiculously good-looking people together, it’d be downright arrogant of them not to have sex, don’t you think?”

“I’m not going to have sex with you, Tyler.”

“Oh, yes you are. You know it. I know it. The universe knows it.”

I’m absolutely SMITTEN! I’m a SMITTEN KITTEN over this freaking book! I just realized how much I’ve missed Lauren Rowe’s writing! She put the swoon in swoon-worthy with her latest romance, MISADVENTURES OF A COLLEGE GIRL! In it, we meet Zooey and Tyler. A freaking ADORABLE couple from two very different sides of the campus! After a disaster of a failed attempt to lose her V-Card to the sexy hung of man, a sort of beautiful friendship blossoms between the two. Tyler wants to try again, of that we are well aware of, but Zooey is no longer capable of feeling indifferent towards Tyler, so sex is OFF the table. If Tyler is anything, he is persistent and day by day he breaks down Zooey’s walls. Will she be able to leave her heart out of it? A relationship was so far out of Tyler’s mind it is ridiculous, but something about his feisty freshman turns him on in all ways. He is determined to be her first, but will he also be her last?

“It’s all going to work out for us, pretty baby. And you know why? Because we’re written in the stars.”

I mean…COME ON! This man has ruined me for all other men! He’s a sweet talker, definitely a dirty talker, and he will make you swoon from head to toe! I loved this coupling SO MUCH. I loved their story and I crave more of this author’s writing! Lauren Rowe, oh how I’ve missed you! Thank you for bringing me to my happy place over and over again!

I loved this book so much!

Tyler is so amazing! He’s an incredible football player with a great sense of humor and big heart. He’s kind, loyal, smart and so sexy!

Zooey, was great too! She’s sassy and knows what she wants. I loved seeing her grow as a women. She’s perfect for Tyler.

The chemistry between Tyler and Zooey was off the charts! From the first moment they met sparks were flying. They are so perfect for each other. I love them so much as a couple and how they support each others dreams.

This book was so fun! I had a blast reading it and never felt bored. In fact I couldn’t stop reading and when I finished it I realized 4 hours had passed and I hadn’t even noticed! I was that into the story. I love it when that happens!

If you can’t tell by now this book rocked my world! I highly recommend it to all romance fans. This book is going straight to my 2018 favorites.

❤~🌟~❤ 5 FANTABULOUS CHERRY-POPPER STARS!❤~🌟~❤

Wowwwww... just wow! MISADVENTURES OF A COLLEGE GIRL was AMAZEBALLS!!

I promised a strictly spoiler free review so, in a nutshell, Zooey Cartwright is a freshman theater major at UCLA, looking to lose her V card, and her heart goes into overdrive when she catches the eye of hunky football player Tyler Caldwell at her first college party. Since there is a mutual sizzling attraction, and neither is looking for a relationship, she thinks the arrogant yet UTTERLY DELISH jock with the heart-stopping smile will fit the “cherry-popper” bill quite nicely. And the best part? He’s GAME! So they head on upstairs to his room and…well, if you want to find out what happens next you gotta read cause MY LIPS ARE SEALED!

MY MUSINGS:
I will preface my thoughts by saying that I make ZERO apologies for my shameless gushing! The utterly brilliant Lauren Rowe scored a MAJOR TOUCHDOWN with this hearttuggimg tale, and I just fell so hard in love with MISADVENTURES OF A COLLEGE GIRL I can hardly contain my excitement!! It's love and laugher, sizzling hotness and swoony sweetness, silly shenanigans and warm, mushy feels all rolled up into one UBER TANTALIZING package!!

As other reviewers have said, MISADVENTURES OF A COLLEGE GIRL is trademark LR. Once again, she crafts a wildly innovative plot that’s brimming with heartwarming emotion, witty banter, outrageously clever catchphrases, pitch perfect comedic timing and endearingly memorable characters that just SHINE!

Gah! This author can write lickable heroes like NO ONE’S BUSINESS, and can I say how darn SCRUMPTIOUS Tyler is? On the surface, this big, dark haired, gloriously muscled and gorgeously tatted hottie may appear to be your stereotypical jock. Yet there is so much more to this brazenly sexy stud than meets the eye!

Tyler may be a savage beast on the football field but “Mr. God’s Gift to Womankind” most definitely earned himself his rightful place in my MVP BBF Hall of Fame! He’s loyal. Thoughtful. Gentle. Kind. Funny. Sweet. Chivalrous. Charming. Protective. Hot in the sack. Bottom line? He just OWNED my heart! And as it turns out a sweetly besotted Zooey’s too!

And for the record, this heroine was bff material too. I JUST LOVED ZOOEY TO PIECES! I relished her sass and spirit, her smart, fun-loving nature, her quirky sense of humor, her adorable dorky personality and her big, beautiful heart. Plus, this spunky Broadway wannabe has got tons of talent and an amazing set up pipes! I totally rooted for her to fulfill her every aspiration AND land the football hottie of her dreams!

Talk about a couple that clicks from page one and OOZES chemistry! Ty and Zooey were so vibrant and real, charming and charismatic, and so darn LOVABLE they leapt off the page and firmly implanted themselves in my heart!! This dynamic duo just totally ticked off all my boxes! Their rapid fire banter was a total riot, their sweet, soul deep connection gave me with giddy butterflies, and I was so swept up in their passionate youthful exuberance and shared dreams of achieving greatness it made my toes curl!

I literally could not get enough of Tyler and his naughty little “eager beaver” as they supported each other through thick and thin while navigating their challenging college course load…and each other! Their collaborative class projects AKA the “halo effect” experiment, and penning a modern day Romeo and Juliet for their theater class were PURE FREAKING GENIUS. And HOLY SMOKES did this horny duo melt my undies—and my kindle--as they meticulously worked their way through Tyler’s devilishly devised “Miseducation of Zooey Cartwright” syllabus!

Bottom line? If any couple was "written in the stars,” it's these two darling oddballs!

As for the side characters …they were equally colorful and flamboyant, and not only helped flesh out the central romance but added OODLES of comic relief! And, finally, I thought Ms. Rowe did a stellar job of immersing us in the exciting world of college football –in fact, some of the action sequences were so thrillingly choreographed , I felt like I was right there in the stadium, cheering Tyler and his teammates on during game day!

FINAL IMPRESSIONS:
Ultimately, MISADVENTURES OF A COLLEGE GIRL scored a MEGA WIN! It’s perfectly paced and flawlessly executed, chock full of breathtaking romance, witty humor, wickedly wanton interludes and bittersweet emotion , finally culminating in a deeply moving HEA that’s guaranteed to make you a TRUE BELIEVER in fate and destiny !

So thank you, Lauren Rowe, for penning this exhilarating, REFRESHINGLY UNIQUE confection that made me laugh and cry, shiver and swoon....and sigh in rapturous delight!

for some reason this book cracked me up. zooey actively looking for the guy with the least honorable intentions to take her virginity in a one night stand was just funny af. the fact that tyler would say the douchiest things and the heroines reaction would be,

I look at Clarissa, flashing her a look that says, Ding, ding, ding! We’ve found ourselves a cherry-popper, folks!

its been a long time since ive read anything this corny (to anyone who's read this, you know what I mean when I say 'we both giggled'👀) but honestly it was the type of cringe/corn I was looking for. zooey and tyler were cute af, had such easy chemistry that the speed they struck up their friendship didn't seem weird to me at all, and overall they were just so easy to root for.

why did i love how whenever tyler would call zooey a condescending nickname like sweetheart or cupcake, she'd just call him that same thing back? and when he called her his little hunk of clay? the man was so goddamn ridiculous sometimes i just couldn't with him. these two were total lovable idiots i rly had a great time w this

the reason I can't give this a full 5 stars tho is the ending. the anticipated 'i love you' scene/'tbd' had me wanting to throw my kindle. all my warm feelings suddenly turned homicidal. the last 30-ish% of this book had angst that didn't hit quite right for me, but other than that, loved this 🥰

Favorite Quotes:

If you really want to be traumatized, then consider this: Why the hell isn’t Pooh wearing pants? He’s a bear who lives in a house and sleeps in a bed. He drinks tea out of a cup. And yet he wears no pants with his polo shirt? I mean, is Pooh fully anthropomorphized or not? Because, if he is, then he’s a ‘public lewdness’ charge waiting to happen.

Gosh, when the universe works this hard to put two ridiculously good-looking people together, it’d be downright arrogant of them not to have sex, don’t you think?

I saw you two walking through South Campus the other day holding hands. You looked good together. Like Beauty and the… Beauty.

My Review:

Written from the first person POV of a virginal female college freshman, this delightfully entertaining book was a breezy, naughty, and fun read. This Misadventure was jam-packed with clever humor, salacious sizzle, enticing characters, and a sweet romance that wasn't supposed to happen as it was not part of the project plan or on the syllabus. I adored the characters and thoroughly enjoyed Ms. Rowe’s witty, amusing, and engaging storylines. I fell hard and fast for this cute couple.

This was an easy, short, funny read without much drama. Did it have a lot of clichés? yeah, but I liked it bc I'm a sucker for sports romances.

Mi only issue was the end, felt too rushed.

Overall Opinion: This was actually better than I was expecting! I don't think we got all that deep into the characterizations, but I still enjoyed both of the mcs. I usually enjoy the theme of f-buddies to more, so this worked well for me. I even got an actual HEA! Because I'm greedy, I would've still enjoyed more of experiencing their HEA -- but I thought it was enough to make me feel content in the end. Overall, a fun, sexy, sweet read with very little drama.

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Zooey and Tyler's story. They meet at Zooey's first college party where she is trying to find some manwhore guy to take her v-card. Once Tyler realizes she is a virgin he puts a stop to things. They soon realize they have two classes together and Tyler uses that to his advantage and pursues a no-strings-attached relationship with Zooey until their midterm projects are done. Some hot sexy times commence, stronger feelings are developed, and some obstacles stand in their way...but they do get a HEA ending.

POV: This was told in Zooey’s POV.

Overall Pace of Story: Good. I never skimmed and I thought it flowed well.

Instalove: No, they take a little bit to develop stronger feelings.

H rating: 4.5 stars. Tyler. I really liked him. Yes, he was a manho when we meet him -- but he was a one woman man once he met the h. I also appreciated his outlook on life in general and how he pushed the h to pursue her dreams.

h rating: 4 stars. Zooey. I liked her. I appreciated how she trusted and cared for the H.

Sadness level: Low/moderate. I teared up a little bit, but I never needed any tissue.

Push/Pull: Not really. Circumstances more than one of the mcs push them apart.

Heat level: Hot. They have some hot tension, chemistry, and scenes -- but not so much it takes away from the story.

Descriptive sex: Yes

OW/OM drama: No

Sex scene with OW or OM: No

Cheating: No

Separation: Yes

Possible Triggers: Yes

Closure: This had a cute epilogue and what I would call a HEA ending .

Safety: This one should be Safe for most safety gang readers

Misadventures of a College Girl is only my second book from Lauren Rowe but I already consider myself a fan. I really enjoyed these characters, especially Zooey, which was a little surprising. I'm not a huge fan of the heroine-trying-to-lose-her-virginity thing but in this book it worked well with the characters and it wasn't an overly dramatic part of the story.

Tyler was very likable as well, even when he was being majorly cocky, and I thought his loud personality was the perfect match for Zooey's more demure one. Seeing them together had me smiling like crazy as I swooned over Tyler, and laughing along with their hilarity. The book is a recommendation from me and if you're looking for a fun college romance to read this is the one you want to choose.

Unfortunately - or fortunately depends on how you look at it - Tyler and Zooey's story was addicting as fuck. As others have said, this book was cheesy, goofy, endearing as hell, and almost tooth-achingly sweet.

Yet, it's because of those qualities that this book was practically a five star read for me. This book made me nostalgic for something that I never even had, it was that good.

My goodness… I am such a procrastinator… ugh. I really need to work on that… because wow, it has been a minute since I've worked on this review.

That said, MISADVENTURES is a book that knocked my freaking socks off, so… I just - I wouldn't feel right about never reviewing it. But… I'm kinda lazy, so instead this review is gonna be less detailed as hell and more light outline.

Before that though, check out these phenomenal reviews if you want a more in-depth summation of MISADVENTURES 😉

As for my thoughts? Well… I pretty much loved everything about this book, except… the last twenty something percent of the book. It just… dropped the ball (yes pun definitely intended). It honestly pissed me off, because this was about to be a pure five star read, but alas… I think my main "issue" with the ending was how tonally different // anticlimactic it ended up being.

That said, it wasn't that bad, because as you can - sorta - see I really loved MISADVENTURES. At the heart of this book was the adorable romance between Tyler and Zooey. It’s official. I have a new favorite Lauren Rowe book.

After reading a few mediocre books, it’s always nice to read one that hits it out of the park. I sometimes tend to blame myself if I get into a reading slump and am not enjoying recently read books. But then… a book like this comes along and reminds me that, yes, I can fall in love with a book again.

I guess it’s kind of like going on a bunch of spark-less dates, then suddenly going on a date with someone with immediate fireworks.

This book was that date.

Like every book I’ve read by LR, I was all in with Tyler and Zooey. I bought their relationship from the start.

LR is quite possibly the best of any romance author I’ve read (and I’ve read a lot) at developing relationships. She has pulled off insta-love (quite a feat), slow burn, and even romance between two people that never met.

Like I mentioned earlier, this was my favorite of all her books that I’ve read so far. I didn’t think any could top Ball Peen Hammer, but my God she did it.

I have to say, this isn’t a book that I’d normally be drawn to, however in a recent livestream chat, she gushed over this book and how it’s the virgin trope that people who don’t like virgin tropes will love… and I happen to be one of those people… and I loved it.

In LR I trust.

“Promise me something, Zooey Cartwright.(..) Promise me you’ll never give up on chasing your big dreams.”

I picked up this book looking for a fun, light and easy reading. But it turned out to be so much more.
The book begins with Zooey, a freshman determined to lose her virginity. To accomplish it, she goes to a party with her roommate, where she meets Tyler. They are instantly attracted to each other but, when he discovers that Zooey is a virgin, he explains to her the importance of having someone she trusts for her first time. After talking with him, Zooey realizes that Tyler is not a douchebag football player as she initially thought and she will get attached if they have sex. Since Tyler doesn´t want a relationship, she leaves the party alone, V-card intact.
BUT Tyler doesn´t want to let her go.

“Gosh, when the universe works this hard to put two ridiculously good-looking people together, it’d be downright arrogant of them not to have sex, don’t you think?”
“I’m not going to have sex with you, Tyler.”
“Oh, yes you are. You know it. I know it. The universe knows it. (...)”. He slides his hand into mine like he’s been doing it for years, and my skin electrifies at his touch. “Come on, Zooey Cartwright. If we’re late, we might not be able to find two seats together”.

Taking advantage of being a football star player, Tyler manages to have Zooey as his partner in the classes they have together. He also manages to make a deal with her: for five weeks, he will teach her everything she needs to know about sex. After that, they will return to being friends, and she can date any man she wants. Easy, isn't it?

Even though I struggled with the writing style at first, I really enjoyed this book. Tyler is a wonderful character: self-confident, witty and caring, and they have a lot of chemistry together.
Misadventures of a College Girl is a funny and light reading, with a lot of sex and a bit of sweetness. And the epilogue is the cutest! So, if you´re looking for this kind of reading, I recommend you to give it a try.

This was such an easy read. For real, so light and easy and so funny sometimes I read it in one go and had me smiling for most of the time.

It was not a deep or heavy story, a simple romance in college and with a football star. It had some absurd situations and don’t get me started on that 5week syllabus and everything they do in those 5 weeks because it wasn’t credible, or at least, healthy for (of course, shocking!) a virgin to begin with... but I turned my mind off a bit and I enjoyed this ride, I didn’t stop and think or questioned, just continued reading and I ended up with what I needed, something sweet and simple, some steamy scenes and two main characters that were very cute and lovable.

I typically refrain from the new-adult genre these days but Misadventures of a College Girl was actually one of the rare ones that isn't jam packed with eye roll-worthy dysfunction. Yes, it's a virgin/sports jock romance which normally would warrant plenty of eye rolls even from fans of the genre but it was actually a pretty cute story. After DNF'ing a good half of the Misadventures series so far, I can say this one is a winner.

College romance is my favorite genre for escapism, and this one was super quick (the audiobook has only 6 hours).

Zooey just got into UCLA, leaving her very conservative father, and she's a girl on a mission: losing her virginity on the first party away from home. That's how she meets Tyler, and things do not go as planned.

This was exactly what I expected: a fun but very forgettable story. I liked the writing, but the conflict (or lack of it) wasn't great. It was pretty lacking, but I guess they didn't have much of a reason to fight anyways. I did enjoy reading it, but I liked Ball Peen Hammer better.

Misadventures of a College Girl by Lauren Rowe was the eighth book in the Misadventures series by various popular best selling romance authors. Although within the series, they each can be read as a stand-alone. This was my first book by Rowe.

Tyler Caldwell was a junior football star that was going Pro after this season. He was highly sought after by girls but he made it clear that he was too focused on football and that he would gladly give a night, but nothing beyond that.

Zooey Cartwright was a freshman at UCLA. Her mother died when she was two and she was raised in a small town by her single father. Although they were close, he was strict and she didn’t have many opportunities to date in high school. She was focused on school and wanted to lose her virginity before school started but wanted it without the entanglements of a boyfriend. Tyler was the perfect choice.

I enjoyed the beginning. It drew me in from the first page and kept me interested until the end. It was told from a singular POV, Zooey’s, and the plot progressed as expected. Additionally, I really liked both characters, they were humorous and Rowe created a fun plot. All in all, it was a quick and entertaining read.

My first TOP READ of 2018! Man how I LOVED THIS book! It's Lauren Rowe's best book to date. I just loved it.

It's trademark Lauren. Packed full of heart, hope, humour, love, steam and sweetness. There are just enough angsty feels and emotions to really make this book OUTSTANDING!

Tyler is without doubt my top book boyfriend ever! I LOVE everything about him. He has the perfect amount of cocky, arrogance and devilish good looks. He's sexy and sweet and just GUH. EVERY-DAMN-THING. I'm still zinging and zapping inside!

Zooey is a DREAM. She's a heroine you can just connect to, relate with and just LOVE. She's beautiful and sassy and sexy and so much fun.

Together they are DYNAMITE and they EXPLODE in the most spectacular way. This book doesn't just flow well, it surges. It's captivating and compelling and all consuming. You MUST bypass the cover, because it DOES NOT do the book justice. I urge you to just dive in, ignore everything else bar the words on the screen/paper inbetween the pages. GET IT. I beg you! I want EVERYONE to read this so badly! It's a top read of 2018 EASY. Any yes, I'm aware we've only just started this year but something about THIS BOOK will stay embedded deep within me for YEARS to come! Misadventures of a College Girl gets ALL THE STARS!

STORY:
I found this cute and amusing, sprinkled with a little cheesy as it was just ok for me in the beginning. The scene where they first met at the college party and had that whole conversation in the bedroom was cute but produced an eye roll. However, I don’t know what happen along the way, but I found myself loving this story. It was ridiculous, cute, adorable, sweet, so funny and sexy (in a college way) all together. For me, it wasn’t so much Zooey, as much as I love her, but, Tyler. Seeing the way he starts falling for Zooey without trying to not look like he is falling for Zooey did it for me. Secretly, I think a lot of things where a first for Tyler as well haha.

CHEMISTRY:
As much as this book was funny, it’s still appealing sexually. Zooey’s reaction and eagerness to learn was extremely entertaining.

SECONDARY CHARACTERS
I love Zooey’s roommate and Dimitry. They actually brought appeal to story even though their roles aren’t that big.

Overall, I fell in love with both Zooey’s and Tyler’s relationship and story. I still think it’s a little cheesy but I can’t help liking this story.

***I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read and hope this review was helpful.

College football star and a sheltered theatre loving girl who wants to find an experienced man to pop her cherry, and get it over with. Of course she needs a manwhore so he knows what the heck he’s doing. Yes the plot sounds roll your eyes corny, BUT it is done SO SO WELL. I love the hero. I love the heroine. Their banter is sweet. Their connection is so good.

This was a good friends with benefits to lovers read. I loved that this was virtually low angst. The hardest part for this couple were reasonable things. Like distance and their career! If you’re looking for sweet and steamy new adult with a HEA, then you’ve found it!

Free on audible romance package :)

Misadventures of a College Girl was short, cute, and sweet. Of course it had it's hot moments but it was also adorable. In it, you will meet Tyler and Zooey. Now these two, and I feel like every potential couple in this series, had amazing chemistry. You couldn't help but root for them - I know because that's how it was for me. They definitely completed each other and were adorable from start to finish.

I'm always skeptical when the MC is a virgin because the route the book takes after that little known fact is out in public is a bit predictable. Which in some ways, this book did have that. Yet, it was still cute. I obviously knew that these two were going to have a HEA because it seemed to be a popular theme in all the other books I've read in this series. Still enjoyed it though so can't wait for more of these books to be available on my audible romance package.

awww

usually, it creeps me out reading these kind of sweet stuff LOL BUT somehow this wasn't as cliche-ed as the usual "girl meets boy (football player)" kinda trope and all the cheesy stuff that follows...

Inspite the fact that the heroine Zooey Cartwright is a virgin/freshman at the UCLA college with a task of finding a "douche" for a de-virginizing project in a one-night stand operation.

BUT who she encounters is an "obvious douche" according to the appearance alone BUT in fact, she is met with a different side of Tyler Caldwell, a star football player and a truly inspiring person concerning his vision, goals and thrives in his life and expectances of his future...and he's nothing what Zooey expects...

and as they start a new "project" of a five weeks miseducation of Zooey Cartwright, cause that's how long they have been asigned with classes' projects, they not only sexually explore each other BUT they seem to bond over a deeper notion of existence and love only heightens the feel...

but when the five weeks, the notion of what they feel transcends the words they say out loud, cause in fact their paths are way on different roads...and they have to move in diffeernt directions, inspite of it.
I'll love you as long as I live. Always know that.
But, sweetheart, we both know love isn't going to be enough for us...

cause they are also aware that they are destined for greatness...even if they have to split their ways...until the distance is too hard to bear...
I understand that to make this work, Tyler and I are going to have to take matters into our own hands. That it's not going to be easy. It's going to be hard. And that's okay. Screw waiting for the stars to uncross themselves. Fuck the stars. Tyler and I love each other. And that's all that matters. Easy. Hard. It doesnt't matter. We're meant to be.

and yeah, that's actually to point, it's defying gravity, it's living to the fullest, it's carpe diem with sacrifices worth making.

And just like those famous starcrossed lovers Romeo & Juliet whose love, unfortunately ended badly, Tyler's and Zooey's defied the stars...
It's all going to work out for us, pretty baby. And you know why? Because we're written in the stars.

My overall opinion:
yes, it was romantic & sweet...
but it was also insightful, sexy and brilliantly smart funny.
Surprisingly intriguing NA read.

Re-read 4/2018:
Just as amazing as the first time! Gah! I love this book so damn much! For my re-read, I actually listened to the audiobook, which is narrated by the amazing Lauren Rowe (Yes! She narrates her own books!!) Listening to this gave me all the feels again and I don't think I will ever get enough of Tyler and Zooey! Everyone needs to read or listen to this one!

*****

I am literally bursting with LOVE for this book! It was like the merging of all of my favorite things into one story. From the songs/music highlighted (Harvey Danger, George Michael, to the musical Wicked), the pop culture references, and to the fantastic location at UCLA - it was pure perfection from start to finish. There were times while reading that I thought that the author was inside my head. Lauren Rowe and I are clearly twinsies.

Misadventures of a College Girl was such an awesome new adult/college sports romance. It was fun, sweet, and so sexy. Tyler may have come across initially as a cocky douchebag, but it was his vulnerability, drive, and thoughtfulness that won me over. I really enjoyed the playful banter and innuendo between him and Zooey and that she didn't let his charm turn her into a swooning fangirl - well, at least not all the time. ;)

description

Their meet cute may have leaned more to the lust driven side than cute, but what ended up developing between them was organic and natural. I loved that there wasn't any unnecessary drama and that the story focused on Tyler and Zooey. The obstacles they face are realistic and honest. I respected both characters immensely for not letting their dreams fall by the wayside and for being true to themselves.

This modern day Romeo and Juliet story will have you laughing and swooning. I could not have had a bigger smile on my face and a happier heart when I finished. Can't recommend this book enough!

ps - ABSOLUTELY LOVED the author's note at the end! #BruinsForever
A Trojan is only good once, but a Bruin is FOREVER!!

LADIES! LADIES! LADIES! Listen to me please. This book, the characters, the feels, the banter, the heat, the laughs, the love, the heartbreak…the list goes on and on. You will get everything you didn’t realize you needed with Zooey and Tyler in this sexy romance.

Zooey is heading off to college and can’t wait to “start her life.” I truly adored her zest for life and sassy personality. She was naïve in many ways, but yet adventurous in a fun and flirty way. I remember what it felt like to be away from home for the first time, to have no adult supervision and finally be on your own. You felt ready to conquer the world. It’s an exciting new journey and Lauren captures the thrill of it all beautifully. I don’t know how she does it, but Lauren transports you into the story and you feel like you’re being reunited with your long-lost friends. And in this case, you’re back at college.

Tyler is just…WOW! This man-child is hot, sexy, swoony and funny as all get out. He’s the quintessential football player in the sense that he is a player, big time. However, he doesn’t make excuses for being a lady’s man and is honest about what he wants out of a relationship. What he wants out of a relationship is to NOT to have one! Sure, maybe that makes him cocky, but his drive and determination to do something big in his life is a real turn-on. Since we're talking about turn-ons, rest assured his swoony, sexy talk will make you combust in the most delicious way. He’s smart and while he takes life seriously, he still manages to have fun.

Needless to say, when Zooey and Tyler get together there are fireworks, lots of chemistry and goofy smiles. It’s virtually impossible not to fall in the love with them both. They’re young and have so much life to live, so it goes without saying that some very adult-like decisions need to be made where their future is concerned. As much as my heart broke for them as they struggled to do the right thing, I admired how they always tried to put each other’s ambitions first.

Bottom line, this was a great read. Lauren’s writing is clever and witty, smart and fresh. She does not disappoint at all in this fun, hot and sexy romance. You will swoon, laugh and maybe shed a few tears. Despite that, I can guarantee you will be smiling like a fool by the time to get done with Zooey and Tyler’s journey!
