Museossa Maisa ystävineen pääsee perehtymään vanhan ajan esineisiin kuten kaksitasolentokoneeseen ja nukkekotiin ja toisaalta raketteihin ja satelliitteihin, jotka edustavat huipputekniikkaa. Lucy Cousins, BA Honours in Graphic Design from The Faculty of Arts and Architecture, Brighton Polytechnic, postgraduate degree from Royal College of Art, is an author-illustrator of children's books. She is best known for her books featuring Maisy Mouse but she has also published other children's books including one about Noah's Ark. She is a mother of four and lives in Hampshire, England. Her own children are the inspiration for her books whose age range is 2-8.

A fun little book about a trip to the Museum. My daughter didn't enjoy this one as much as the other Maisy books we have read, I think that may be because of the words used. Many of the words were long and complicated for a toddler so she lost interest. Also, the sentences were quite disjointed. Another thing that could be a problem is that not all Museums will offer your child everything that is in this book which may lead to disappointment. Other than the above issues, the book is nice and bright and has some really good illustrations.

It is a cute book about a Maisy and her friends visiting the Museum on a rainy day. They visit various sections like dinosaurs, transportation, Air and Space, toys and different kind of animals. They also do fun activities like reading a book, drawing, playing with Puppets and musical instruments and finally they dress up in the costume room. After these, they visit the cafeteria and help themselves with some snacks. This is a fun book for kids, especially for those who love to visit a museum and can remind them about their visit to one.

Copyrighted in 2008 this Maisy title holds up well as an accurate introduction to the various collections children would enjoy in a museum. Of course it begins with dinosaurs. It was cute that Maisy’s elephant friend, Eddie, was checking out the woolly mammoth.

I didn't read these books for the longest time because I had heard one person say that they were really annoying. I enjoyed this one, even if my son's attention wasn't completely there when I was reading it to him. Maisy the mouse goes to the museum on a rainy day with her friends Charly, Tallulah, Eddie and Cyril. They see dinosaur bones, and old cars, toys, bikes, planes and a double decker bus. They see brightly colored stuffed birds, a bug exhibit, and a woolly mammoth. I like that they have so much fun at the museum because there is so much to do there. Recommended for ages 1-5, 5 stars.

The more I read the Maisy books, the more I find the writing to be lacking. There are never any real transitions. And the language is simplistic. Even a toddler audience can enjoy interesting language.

The format of this one is basically:
Maisy likes this exhibit!
Her friend likes this other exhibit!
Another friend likes a different exhibit!
etc, etc.

I like that they are celebrating being at a museum, but I just wished there was a little more narrative and a little less disjointed list.

In this Maisy adventure, Maisy and her friends visit the museum on a rainy day. They see dinosaur fossils, different types of transportation, various space items, and a natural animals exhibit. They have a fun time playing with the toys and costumes in the children's part of the museum and end the day with a visit to the museum restaurant. The illustrations are classic Maisy--colorful and simple. This book is an AR 2.3 level.

Museums are so much fun!! This has to be my favorite Maisy book so far. Museums are wonderful places of REAL learning and I absolutely love that they are getting their chance to shine. Maisy and her friends spend a nice rainy day at the museum and have lots of fun experiencing many different things. This book makes me want to head on down to the museum and spend hours filling my mind with wonderful knowledge. =)

My problem with this book was it talked about dress up happening at the museum as though all museums have an interactive play area exhibit for kids to explore. Many of the museums in my area do but not all and it could set an expectation for kids that your museum doesn't fulfill. Also, they eat at the museum and I just felt like it made kids expect to buy food and eat at a museum and do interactive fun things that not all museums will have.

A great book about the museum. It explores many different types of exhibits found in most children's or science museums. It gives just enough information to hold a toddler's attention. A great book to precursor or review a trip to the museum. The only downside I see is disappointment if your local museum is missing something in the book your child was excited to see.

This book is GREAT fun. Maisy's friends go through the museum and have a great time. This would be a good book to read prior to taking Emerson to the museum. On the inside flap, one learns that there is a HUGE collection of Maisy books! I think we should read them all. It was the little Maisy stroller book that started the whole truck love affair, after all!!

It is interesting that Maisy goes to the café and dresses up so clearly this in an interactive museum with collections. Maybe a children's museum with collections or a traditional museum with a hands on room or maybe like the V&A in the UK (exhibition about Britain) a museum that has all of the above in one place. Nice to see.
