Loved this book, couldn't put it down. I loved how Chase just stepped in to help Billie Jo and bring Rose some peace of mind. All through the book Lorhainne has given the reader a sense of suspense. Great job Lorhainne and looking forward to the next book in the series.

This is book 2 of the series and is about the second McCabe brother, Chase. He is a lawyer and the brother who took care of his brothers. He had a need to fix everything for everybody. He gets a welcome surprise after dealing with chaos when he stops for gas. I liked Rose and Billy- Jean. The McCabe family is functionally dysfunctional.

This is the second book in the McCabe series. It can be read as a stand alone book since the book barely even references Vic who was the focus of book one. However, reading the whole series would make for a better understanding of the McCabe family. Chase McCabe is known as the fixer in the family. Even though he is on his way to fix yet another problem between his parents and a previously unknown sister, Chase finds himself involved in a situation he just can't walk away from. By staying and getting involved, he chases everyone's life forever. Once again Lorhainne Eckhart has created a family saga that simply pulls the reader in and keeps you reading right up until the end. I'm looking forward to more of the McCabe family, particularly Aaron who we met in this novel.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novel.

Eckhart has a new series that is definitely worth the read. The queen of the family saga started this series with a spin off of her wildly successful Friessen series. This one doesn't disappoint.

The characters are such everyday people with real life problems. High emotion in the story will keep you turning the pages.

I highly recommend this book to fans of the contemporary romance genre.

Lorhainne Eckhart had really written a touching story about not just family, but of belonging.

Chase McCabe is a fixer. If there's a problem, he just can't let it go.

Chase had three other brother's and they were all adopted. Even though they found their forever home, their parents marriage didn't last and their mother left them with their father, without a word of explanation to them.

On his way to reunite with his mother, father and brothers, he interrupted what he thought was a robbery. Chase soon found himself involved with helping a teen age girl, an illegal woman and a woman scarred by spousal abuse.

Journey with Chase as he tries to solve everyone's problem and manages to come to a heart warming ending. I loved this story and was sorry it came to an end. (sigh).

Another good book in this series!

This is a review of the audiobook,

Overall – 5
Performance – 3
Story – 5

Don't Catch Me is the second book in the McCabe Brothers series but can easily be enjoyed as a standalone story.

Chase is on his way to meet with his family when he walks in on what appears to be a robbery. His career as an aid to a congressman is over and he hasn't yet decided what he wants to do next. When he discovers that the robber is really a young girl he can't just walk away and decides to stay and help.

Rose was a witness to what happened but she is reluctant to help. Due to things in her past she needs to stay out of the spotlight but Chase is having none of that; he needs her to talk about what she saw so he can help the girl.

This is a relatively short book so things happen quickly with the romance between Chase and Rose but that doesn't bother me like it does some readers. I actually love this length of audiobook because it's one that I can usually finish in one day while doing household chores. The story is an interesting one and kept my attention throughout. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

About the narration: This is the second book I've listened to by Jaclynn Elfring (aka Jaclynn Michelle Elfring) and I have sort of a love/hate relationship with her narration. She does some of the best voices, especially the male ones, that I've heard in an audio book. The problem is that her phrasing/vocal inflections kind of drive me nuts. The sample on Audible is from the beginning of the book and doesn't really give a good example of what I'm talking about. I'm not bothered enough by her phrasing to not listen to more books she narrates but I just can't raise my rating above 3 stars yet. I'm hoping she gets better as she narrates more books.

A review copy of this audiobook was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author.

Reviewed for Reader's Favorite.

Of all the McCabe brothers, Chase is the one who has always felt the need to fix things, to take care of problems and people ad deal with them. So when Chase stops for gas in a remote little place, walking into what looks like an armed robbery, he immediately takes action and takes control of the situation. Things get more confusing for chase when he realizes that it's just a young kid, and then that there is a whole lot more going on in this sleepy little town than meets the eye. It will take all of Chase's smooth-talking and handsomeness to build any trust with Billy Jo, but in her, Chase sees his own brother Aaron, and he is bound and determined to make things right. Don't Catch Me is the second book in the McCabe Brother's series, written by author Lorhainne Eckhart.

Although Don't Catch Me is the second book in the McCabe Brother's series, it can easily stand on it's own. The oldest brother Vic, who was the subject of the first book, is mentioned in this book, but you don't need to know any of his story to completely understand this book. The reader is introduced to Aaron and Luc, in fact we meet the whole McCabe family in this book, and you start really understanding the family more in this book, they play a slightly bigger role, as they were almost non-existent in the first book. Author Lorhainne Eckhart has written a captivating tale of family, especially a dysfunctional family that has managed to create some amazing men, that have their flaws, but at the same time those flaws are what make them that much more interesting and relatable. This is a great book for any reader, there is very mild references to a couple of intimate moments, but it is easy for me to say those are so mild, any age reader would enjoy this book.

I was surprised that with both the audiobook and the ebook, you get the bonus of "A McCabe Reunion". I both read and listened to this book.

I could not help but feel for Billie Jo. I can't imagine, especially as a child, being in a position where untrustworthy adults have complete control over you and your life. I thought the writer did an excellent incumbent the mistrust, the fear, and anger of Bilie Jo.

I was so glad that Chase stuck with her. The entire situation, while suspenseful, left me feeling hopeful. I had to admire his commitment.

Some aspects of the situation with Billie Jo and Rose were somewhat implausible. Not because they could never happen, but just with the speed the incidents occurred. I wish there had been more detail about the sheriff's interaction with the foster father, what happened with Ross's ex, some information about Billie Jo's issues with the foster family, etc. In all honesty, I don't know if Chase ever got Billie Jo's full story.

Chase and Ross's relationship happened ridiculously fast. It didn't even feel like instalove. It was we are strangers. The court thing happened. The house thing happened. Suddenly, a relationship. I don't feel like there was enough interaction for them to know if they liked one another.

I still felt like the story was not finished in that there were things left unanswered. Although there was no definitive cliffhanger, it still feels like I was left hanging a little.

The narration was ok. It didn't particularly stand out. I believe I would have liked it better if there had been a male and female narrator. I bought the ebook, but I voluntarily listened to and reviewed the audiobook provided by the author.

Chase McCabe and Rose Wilcox, two strangers who happen to stop at the same rundown gas station, step into the middle of something that will change their lives. It’s a matter of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, or is it? Their story touches on the shortcomings of our child welfare system when Chase and Rose decide to join together to help save a foster child who is drowning in the CPS system. But what they ultimately do is so much more.

It’s a tale of a strong, compassionate man who has a knack for fixing everyone’s problems, a damaged woman who is finally ready to overcome her fears and risk it all, and a troubled teen who has been abused and mistreated her whole life and is reluctant but willing to take a chance. The emotions run high in this compelling romance. The characters are well-drawn and charming, and the storyline is intriguing and engaging. It’s another one in this series you’ll find hard to put down. I highly recommend this entertaining and captivating read.

This series is about four foster brothers who are still dealing with feelings of abandonment when their foster mother left them with a father that was struggling with his own demons. Now as adults, we are introduced to each of them.
Since I really enjoyed the audiobook of the first book in this series, Don’t Stop Me, I decided to give this one a try. This one is just as good.
Chase has always been the “fixer” and when he stops at a gas station on his way to Nevada for a family reunion, he comes upon what appears to be a robbery. One involving a teenager with a gun. But it isn’t what it seems, and when Chase realizes the girl is a foster child in a bad situation, he is determined to help her. Little did he know that that action would change his life forever.
The engaging plot with complex characters will keep your interest from the beginning .
Another winner by this talented author.

Chase McCabe is on his way to a reunion with his parents, brothers and sister the brothers knew nothing about. He pulls in for petrol after stopping off to see his brother who is not going to the reunion. When he gets in side he saw a hold up in progress and tackles the robber and gets the gun away. When he knocked the hat off he discovered a young girl. She is arrested and Chase goes as her Attorney he tries to get her out of jail but she is locked up for the night. The next day she is classed as a high risk as she has a habit of running away from foster parents. With the help of Rose who witnessed the hold up Chase decides to apply to foster Billy Jo. There new life starts then The rest is not straight forward but at least it’s a start. This is a good story that has you not wanting to put the book down

Lorhainne Eckhart once again delivers an interesting story that allows the reader to feel like they are there. I always feel "comfortable" reading her stories - like I'm with a good friend.

We find out enough about Chase McCabe - and what he feels he needs to morally do during his life, without feeling like we are being preached to. It was a quick read for me - as most all of her books are - but an enjoyable one nonetheless. Her interesting story telling ability, and splitting up the various members of a family into different books, leaves me feeling satisfied at the end, like I've seen a beginning, middle and end, succinctly done!

I received an advance copy of this book for an honest review.

4 out of 5 stars Kindle Copy for Review

Chase McCabe is a lawyer and politician who is a problem solver. He passes through a small town on his way to meet up with his family but his stop for gas ends up more than he could ever imagined.

What seems like a robbery ends up getting him bitten literally. A young teenager foster girl is charged and he finds himself defending her despite her reluctance to talk to him. He feels there is more to this than a robbery.

Chase meets another eye witness who does not want to get involved since she has her own problems and do not need the publicity. What just a passing through might end up becoming a permanent place. Three strangers might just become a family. Nice story.

You know that whenever you read a book by Lorhainne Eckhart that you are going to read a beautifully, well written story that will tear at your heart strings. This book is another captivating read about Chase McCabe who happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and he is caught up in some extreme life changing events when he walks in on an armed robbery and ultimately finds his love in Rose, but happens to foster the robber, Billy Jo. A series of events that start a new adventure for them all and a change in life for Chase. I would love to read more about them and how life has settled for them. Highly recommend this wonderful series with strong and somewhat flawed characters.

I received an ebook copy and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Another wonderful story by Ms. Eckhart! If you like family sagas then Ms. Eckhart is the author for you. She does them wonderfully and makes you fall in love with all of the families. There are always hot men, strong women, adorable children and loads of love. The McCabe Brothers are no exception. These are men that you wish could be cloned over and over again because not only are they HOT, they are also very GOOD men. Men you trust, men you lust after, men you think you must have! Chase is Mr. Fix Everybody and Everything and I for one need fixing! LOL!! Can't wait to meet the rest of the family.

I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

Chase McCabe has had enough with a politics life. He is on his way to meet with his brothers to help out with a family situation. He stopped at a gas station and there his life completely turns around. He stops Billy Jo, a teenager from robbing a store. Billy Jo has no trust in anyone due to the fact that she is in the foster care system and has been treated unfairly over the years. Chase defense the girl.
Rose is a character witness for Billy Jo. She has a past. She invites Chase to live with her so they can become foster parents of Billy Jo. I would recommend this book! The McCabe Brothers series is awesome!

Chase McCabe and Rose meet at a robbery. Yep, a robbery. Unfortunately, they are both in the wrong place at the wrong time. But who is the thief? And who is Billy Jo? Kind and caring Chase takes them both under his wing after finding out that Billy Jo is mistreated at home. Rose is running from her violent ex who is a very powerful man. Once again Chase is trying to help everyone. He and Rose get very close. Very close. And what happens with his mother and father after his father's gambling tore their family apart. Can Chase ever forgive his mother for leaving them? What a fabulous Friessen story.

Rose and Chase story is so realistic. I experience several emotions while I read this book. The story is absolutely brilliant, and the author did a great job, making the story really came alive. Especially problems in the foster care system and how poorly the police handled the situation with young girl.
Many children in foster care could do well with more people that are as caring and persistent as Chase.

Through out the story, strong emphasis is placed on the importance of family, whather they are blood related or not.
The book is well written with wonderful characters and a good story line. Brilliant narrators. I definitely recommend it.

Don't Catch Me: Chase (The McCabe Brothers #2) was another great read by Lorhainne Eckhart. Chase Mcabe is a lawyer who left his life in politics. He is on his way to meet his brothers to sort out family matters. He stops for has and walks in on a robbery in progress. He discovers that the culprit is a kid and her situation isn't as it seems. He feels like he needs to fix everyone's problems and it kicks in when finding out that authorities have written the girl off. This leads him to meeting a mysterious girl with her own secrets. I enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to read more by the author.

I read this in a day and although it covers some difficult themes it is basically a story of empathy and love.
This is the story of a man who is compelled to fix situations who meets a teenage girl who is child in the system who Is in the foster care of a couple who should never have been foster parents and a woman who was married to an abuser. You Don't really get an in-depth into their back stories just a hint of what they went through.
Chance and circumstances is what binds this together, a story of what ifs and how the path you were on can change to an infinitely happier course.
