The Two-Night One-Night Stand

Rate this book
A girl. A guy. And a talking peen.

Holly Martin isn't the type to have a one-night stand. But a crushing break up, a sexy blind date, and a few shots of Fireball is about to change all that.

Matthew Daniels is an introverted PA who claims he’s too busy to date. But that doesn’t stop his older brothers from encouraging him to let loose and get out there, because as they put it - the right girl won’t just walk up to you.

But what if she does?

Is it possible for a one-night stand that happens twice, to actually become more? Could two nights of reckless debauchery actually lead to true love? Or is this just another case of a whisky induced disaster?

This Romantic Comedy is sure to have you laughing, cringing, rolling your eyes, shouting at the pages and looking for a shot glass of your own.

Hi, I’m Ryan Ringbloom, a Jersey girl who doesn’t write Alphas. I couldn’t if I tried. Social Media stresses me the frick out, yet I can’t seem to walk away from it. I love to binge watch TV. I think cats are awesome. I’m obsessed with coffee and Fireball. But never together. I am counting down the days until self-driving cars are the norm. And if there is ever a zombie apocalypse, I won’t even try to run. I will let the first one I see eat my brain and get it over with.

2 Sluts Unite! Stars

It hurts a little to give this short and sweet story a 2 star. The writing and overall tone is light hearted and exactly what I was looking for, but there were simply issues I couldn't overlook.

Everything was moving along fine. The author lays out a predictable but utterly cute Halloween meeting between our dumped ten months ago heroine, who still hasn’t managed to get into the swing of dating again, and a sexy yet shy physician’s assistant.

Sounds good so far, right?

Did I mention our gal Holly’s dressed to the nines and she’s playing the role of slutty nurse? Or that she’s waiting for her blind date who’s promised to come dressed as a doctor? Oh, and Matthew, our adorable P.A., happens to be wearing scrubs when Holly suffers her case of mistaken identity. Or that Matthew’s figured out Holly’s supposed to be meeting someone else, but he’s decided he wants her all for himself.

Now, how to admit to Holly he’s not her intended date. Well, maybe later.

You’d think my problem would be with Matthew inserting his special manhood parts into Holly’s special lady parts without being honest about who he is, but I can overlook that. Matthew’s just nerdy and beta enough for me to believe he had no clue how to broach that landmine.

Points for your ineptitude, my good man!

My problems with 2-Night One-Night Stand arise after the inserting of manhood parts when Holly decides to call herself a slut after her first one-night stand. And when her friend implies it after she finds out Holly missed meeting her intended date, friends’ brother, and went home with another guy.

“You had a one-night stand?” Jayne laughs and I cringe at her words. “I didn’t have you pegged as that kind of girl. Looks like my brother missed out.”

'Cause she slept with a guy she connected with after almost a year of celibacy, it means she’d sleep with anything? Sure, I can see where you’d think that.

But what about the sweet, mild mannered nerdy dude she slept with, Matthew. Surly, after getting their mutual rocks off, he doesn’t label her a slut?

“Don’t say that. Last night was amazing. Not slutty.” It was totally slutty, but I loved it.

Says the aforementioned sexing dude to Holly after they’ve figured identity stuff out and she’s regretting her choices.

And on and on we go from there. I wish I could say the slut shaming came to an abrupt and much needed halt, but it just kept going. Whether it be from Holly herself who wonders just what the man who had consensual sex with her would ever see in her.

but a nice guy like Matthew isn’t looking to settle down with a hoochie.

Because that’s what you’ll forever be now, right?

Or from Matthew’s own family who manage to get in a “one night stand” mention the first time she meets them, sending her running away in humiliation.

By this point I was over it! I get a woman feeling uneasy after engaging in a one-night stand when that may not be normal behavior for her, but this story seemed to make slut shaming an actual theme of the book. And believe me, I never forgot it.

Though this one didn't work for me, I'd give this author another shot. I loved the humor and the beta hero. I’m normally not that sensitive to this issue, but in this case I would’ve loved to see the “woman down on herself because she got some” thing take a back seat.

Without a doubt one of the funniest, sexiest, nerdiest and most enjoyable books I've ever read! A series of misunderstandings and screw-ups would normally mean doom for a relationship, but Holly and Matthew are anything but normal and you're going to love it!

This is super cute ONS. My first read by Miss Ringbloom and certainly will not be my last. The two night one night stand is a.. well... a ONS gone wrong.
It started with mistaken identity on a blond date and ended with explosive ONS.

Holly, the heroine being a bitch and Mathhew the hero being indecisive, shy and awkward. But with a lot of sweetnees. Their misunderstanding and miscommunication os just... hilarious.

Sadly it was short. I want more from Matthew and Holly. So much more.

This book was funny and sweet! I really enjoyed it! It was so refreshing to have an attractive, successful, kind and smart hero that WASN'T a manwhore! This man actually kept himself occupied with work and family before meeting the h- he didn't spend his free time picking up strangers for meaningless hookups! And guess what? It made the sex scenes between the H and h seem hotter and more special because he hasn't already done everything under the sun with a bunch of random OW. Just my opinion- no offense to manwhore lovers!

It’s Halloween night and having broken up with her boyfriend the previous Christmas, Holly Martin is in costume at a bar waiting for her blind date. Enter Matthew Daniels, a physician’s assistant, meeting his brothers for drinks after a long day in the ER. In scrubs, Holly mistakes him as her blind date and Mathew, having not had sex in 17 months, 6 days, 11 hours, and 43 minutes, battles with his conscious, or more specifically his peen, over whether to correct this case of mistaken identity or go with the flow. Peen pushes him in the right direction, and it turns out this is Holly’s lucky break. Her real date is a real jerk, and Matty is quite the nerdy prince. For all the ladies sick of the manwhore type, this read’s for you. Matthew is an all round good guy.

Told via Holly and Matthew’s alternating first person POV, The Two-Night One-Night Stand is a cute romantic comedy. The pair have their fair share of mishaps in their journey from a one night stand to a dating relationship. Alcohol is not always Holly’s best friend…

“It’s official, the combination of white wine and Fireball is the equivalent to female Viagra.”

And the “Peen-nut gallery” does not always act in Matty’s best interest.

“I think I hear Peen laugh at me. This is his fault. I blame him for hoarding most of the blood supply, leaving my brain depleted.”

Matty’s conversations with his penis were a humorous addition to this light-hearted tale. If you’re looking for the kind of romantic read that puts a smile on your face, this is definitely one to 1-click.

“Happy HallowPEEN!”

This is the story of Holly and Matthew, a two-night one-night stand!

I really liked this book! It was a fast and light story that deals with a reality that most of the girls have come across. If you sleep with a guy that you really like when you first meet him, are you then a slut? Ms. Ringbloom approached the story with care and a smile! The plot is kind of expected with a couple of nice twists and the story is told by a dual POV.

Holly is a really nice and sweet girl that has been hurt in the past! I like her "dirty" side as much as I like her nice side! My only complaint is that she never actually gave the chance to Matthew to speak his feelings before jumping to decisions and conclusions!

Matthew is a great nerd! I love him! He has a really nerdy side but he is true to his hart! I love also his family! They are so funny all together!

I totally love their interactions and I couldn't have enough of their discussions and one-night stands!

The end of the story was really nice and gave me a big smile to my face! I know that everything will be ok with them and I am really happy!

I definitely recommend this book to everyone to wants to read a funny, love story!

After a breakup with a total douche, Holly gets blindsided by her friend Jayne when she sets her up on an impromptu blind date. The best part is that it’s Halloween and she’s dressed up as a slutty nurse. The only thing that she knows about her blind date is that he is dressed up as a doctor.

Matthew is out with his brothers, fresh from work in his scrubs after a shift as a Physicians Assistant at a hospital. When a tipsy, sexy nurse mistakes him for her blind date he finds himself in a bit of a predicament. On the one hand he hasn’t had a date, sex, etc in a long time and she's hot. On the other hand, she's supposed to be meeting someone else. The backdrop of a case of mistaken identity makes for such a hysterical set-up between two unlikely people totally meant for each other.

Holly was hysterical. She was still mourning the loss of her last relationship and pretty much is the epitome of any girl who’s had her heart broken. She also lacks no filter, at times which made her even more funny. Her inner voice was also endearing and made her completely relatable.

"Come on, Matthew," she says in a breathy voice. "Tell me what dirty things you want to do to me."

"I'm..." Shit. I suck at this. I've never done anything like this before. "I'm...I'm going to have sex with you."

"You can do better than that." She uses a sugary, baby-like voice, urging me to go dirtier. "Say what you really want to do to me."

Peen, a little help.

Say fuck. That's real dirty.

"I'm gonna fuck you." My shirt comes off and she presses her bare breasts against my chest. The dirty talk works.

Say you're gonna fuck her really hard.

"I'm gonna fuck you real hard." She hooks her thumb into her thong, lifts her hips and slides down her last article of clothing. Peen knows his shit."

Matthew was absolutely the heart of this book. He was such an adorable nerd-he’s a bonafide Jeopardy-geek. He’s the youngest of his family and usually picked on, so I think it may have left him with a bit of a complex. He’s also bit clueless or slow on the uptake in certain situations that lead to more awkward scenes, albeit they are laugh out loud situations, it just made me love him more. But he’s also so caring and will have you swooning-even when he carries on conversations with his peen (it sounds strange, I know but it’s executed well). And, he’s probably the most un-sexiest dirty talker, but it’s still so funny that you let it go anyways.

Holly and Matthew are magical together. They are awkward, silly, ridiculous, funny adorable, and hot all at the same time. They give you the first date flutters, the smiles, and the hopes that they find their HEA. I swear, I laughed and smiled throughout this book so much that at one point, I actually woke up my husband.

This was my first read by Ryan Ringbloom and I am totally in “like” (inside book joke) with her writing. This book was so much fun to read that I literally breezed right through it. Also, all the secondary characters just added more fun and hilarity to this book

“One night you walked up to me, thinking I was someone else, and my life changed forever. I was hooked from that very first moment. And the second time I saw you, I knew I didn’t stand a two-night one-night chance.”

My only selfish complaint? I seriously could’ve read a book twice as long as this one with Holly and Matthew and not gotten bored. I wish The Two-Night One-Night Stand was a wee bit longer as I didn’t want it to end! Definitely grab this one if you want a fun, sweet romance. This is a great rom-com!! I can’t wait to read the next one-is it 2017 yet?

Funny read.
Liked both characters. Glad the hero was not your typical arrogant experienced pseudo-alpha. He was a lovely, sweet guy with doubts and flaws.
Finally a book, where they not only laugh at the heroine, but also at the hero.
Amazing!!!
(I hate when the authors put h in many embarrassing situations and H looks calm and collected -> grr).

What I didn't like was direct & indirect slut-shaming.
Women, who have ONSs, are not sluts. Statement!!!

When I started reading this, I thought it would be 5 star read for me. It had all the makings of one. Super cute hero, confident heroine and laugh out loud scenes. Yo, this book is hilarious!
But there is one major problem that ruined this book for me. Okay, aside from the talking peen, which is overused and not even funny anymore, Holly was slutshaming herself so bad, my god, it was unbearable to my gentle, love yourself and fuck what people think of you, feminist heart. She was so hung up on the fact that she had a one night stand, as if it was the worst thing a woman could do. And that was not okay for me. She was just crazy to be honest. Not the good kind either.

Plot: Holly is set up on a blind date for Halloween. She goes to a bar dressed as a slutty nurse and is supposed to meet a guy named, Nick, dressed as a doctor. He was late, and she mistakes another guy, a much more decent one I might add, as her blind date and approaches him. The rest of the story is how both of them come to terms and starting their ‘relationship’ based on lies and casual hookup.

Hero: Mathew lies within minutes of meeting her. It’s a little thing, but saying he likes mushrooms when he doesn’t is indicative of a man who will say what he needs to at the time. I’m not sure I like that. Not to mention, he let her think he was Nick, her yoga friend’s brother.

The way he talked to his penis was disturbing. He called it peen and had full on conversations with it. Don’t know what else I can say about that. To each his own, I guess.

Heroine: Holly created drama for the sake of drama. Honestly, don’t know how she functioned in the real world. At 68% she starts slut shaming herself. Had me shaking my head at her stupidity. Her logic was messed up. How would he be judging her when he behaved the exact same way… with HER.

“A date? Are you kidding me? How am I supposed to go on a date with him? Once I had sex with him the first night, all chances of a relationship went out the window, and then factor in that I did it a second time. No freaking way. Guys do not date sluts.”...

description

Opinion: I was grossed out that our Hero, Mathew, the Physician’s Assistant, went up to a random woman in a bar and touched her bloody finger without gloves. He proceeded to wipe it with an alcohol wipe and bandage it. That’s a first aid no no. Has he never heard of bloodborne pathogens?

description

After wiping the blood without gloves, he doesn’t even go wash his hands. They head out to a pizza joint and I keep waiting for him to excuse himself to go wash his hands, but he never did.

description

Thanks to the author, Ryan Ringbloom, I learned a new word. A Brony is an older teen or adult male who is a fan of My Little Ponies.

description

It brought back memories of the 2017 VMA’s, watching Miley Cyrus twerking. Had to look that one up too. I’m expanding my horizon’s left and right.

Another new word emetophilia: You have to read the book to get this joke, but trust me when I tell you I laughed HARD at this scene. Mathew is so cute.

“Some people actually love vomit. I don’t know if you’ve ever heard of emetophilia, but that’s where a person is sexually aroused by watching someone vomit.” She lifts her head up from the toilet and looks back at me, her mouth drooping into a frown of disgust. Oh, fuck. Back it up. Beep, beep, beep. “Not me, though. I don’t get aroused by watching people throw up. I wasn’t turned on at all watching you puke just now.” I’m making it worse. “You looked disgusting.” Stop talking. “But still pretty.”...

The push/pull: Holly was stupid. All she had to do was have an actual conversation with the man she was having sex with. Novel concept. The man was all in from the beginning. Millennial's complicate everything. Ugh.

Safety/Experience level: Holly has gone 10 months since last sexual encounter with ex-boyfriend who broke up with her from a pregnancy scare. Mathew has gone longer, Seventeen months, six days, eleven hours, and forty-three minutes, to be exact. It was his only sexual experience other than Holly. That was a long time to hold out.

First sex was with condoms, second was without. They made a conscious decision not to use one and there was no talk of STD’s or health status at all. I guess she figured if he was a Physician’s Assistant, he took care of his health, and he probably did, but he never inquired about her status. Not cool.

description

Ending: HEA

Would I read again? Maybe.

This book is hilarious! Lots of misunderstandings, and sexy stuff.
Our heroine agrees to a blind date with her friend’s brother at Halloween. He is supposed to come dressed as a doctor so she wears a nurses uniform. But instead she has a few drinks while waiting and goes home with a hot real doctor. Or, physicians assistant, anyway.
I listened to the audible which was excellent! If you like a light hearted romance brilliantly performed this is a good choice. 😊

This was a pretty funny read. Even though Matthew wasn't an Alpha, he was a bit of a nerd and his nervousness was charming. I loved the way the author had these two meet and I enjoyed the interaction with Matthews family. I didn't love that Holly pushed away so much but I liked how her friend knocked some sense into her. Cute story! ARC provided by NetGalley.

This book was everything a romantic comedy should be - sweet, funny, and just enough heat! The characters were real and likeable and I really enjoyed the element of family that was included. I really found myself rooting for the couple, while groaning (and laughing) at each and every pitfall and misstep on their way to HEA.

The Two-Night One-Night Stand has most definitely confirmed that I need to read more New Adult. Nine times out of ten I love them and this hilarious masterpiece is no different.

The Two-Night One-Night Stand is the story of a guy and girl in their mid-twenties who accidentally have a one-night stand, not once, but twice. This is romantic comedy at it's finest and it was just hilarious from start to finish. I was in absolute hysterics. It's a very fun and quick read, and definitely for mature readers only.

Both the main characters, Holly and Matthew, were just fantastic and I loved them. Holly is just plain hilarious. I could not get enough of her. I felt I could relate to her too as I also lack any form of a brain-to-mouth filter when I've had a drink. And, also like Holly, I'm pretty sure I'm in the process of being set up with a guy and, like Holly, I'm fairly reluctant. I just found Holly so fun and sassy and I want to be her friend in real life!

Matthew is just so... cute and sexy and adorable and hot. I love, love, love him and his nerdiness. He is just so adorably awkward too. Best of all, he isn't an asshole like so many men in New Adult fiction. And his "talking peen" had me in complete stitches. I so want someone like Matthew in my life. He is definitely a new book boyfriend for me.

The Two-Night One-Night Stand is told from the alternating perspectives of Holly and Matthew and each of their inner monologues are hysterical. I did feel that their story is slightly predictable, but I didn't care! Their story was just so hilarious that it kept my attention easily and I wish it was longer. Plus, there are a few twists along the way that did leave me questioning how it would all end. But, the ending is just perfection.

I would definitely recommend The Two-Night One-Night Stand to fans of hilariously funny new adult fiction. If you are a fan of Alice Clayton's Wallbanger, I can definitely see you enjoying this. I cannot wait to read more by Ryan Ringbloom also.

I received a copy of The Two-night One-Night Stand via Netgalley.

Romantic comedy at its best!

This was my first time reading Ryan Ringbloom and it definitely will not be my last! This story was not only a sweet take on the one-night stand trope it was also hilarious!

I really enjoyed the voice of the female MC, Holly, and the male MC. Matthew talking to his not so little friend was more than funny! This is OBVIOUSLY an insta-lust since there is a one night stand, but it's surprisingly a slow burn romance in some ways as well. It's fun watching these characters work their way back to each other.

Also I think I absolutely cried laughing during half the scenes in this book. The date with Nick. Oh good lord. I also never thought that pizza kisses could be so romantic. Swoon, these two had it all.

Ryan Ringbloom gave me romantic comedy realness, and I can't wait to see what happens in the next book!

PSS- can Jeremy and a certain Uber driver get a novella? Was that not hinted at? Anyone else?!?!

I'm making it worse.
"You looked disgusting."
Stop Talking.
"But still pretty."
Just shut the fuck up.

The Two-Night One-Night Stand was a hilarious, romantic, read in one sitting book. Holly was dumped by her long-time boyfriend and her friend insisted she go on a blind date. Matthew's Physicians Assistant job is taking over his social life and his brothers want him to live a little. With one misunderstanding and a couple shots of Fireball, one thing leads to another and bowchikawowow. One-night stands have a stigma but could this be something more?

If you have three hours to spare, I definitely recommend The Two-Night One-Night Stand. When I read the description "A girl. A guy. And a talking peen", I had no idea that it meant his literal peen so when those scenes happened I was howling with laughter. This whole entire book was awkwardly cute, I loved it. Can't wait for book two!!

I received this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

I liked this one. I liked Holly and Matt. Holly was a bit insecure about dating because of her douchebag ex boyfriend. He broke up with her because he couldnt see a future with her. Holly gets set up on a blind date with her friend's brother who she thinks is Matt. Matt is a bit introverted and hasn't been on a date in a while. He is encouraged by his brothers to go along with the miscommunication. As you know love, heartbreak and humor ensues. I think these two were such a good couple.I was glad when all the mess was out of the way for them to get an HEA. I was cracking up on so many parts of this book. Like when Matt went on the accidental date, Matt's dirty talk and his babbling nonsense when nervous. 4 stars for the story

The narration was pretty good. I have listened to this pair a few times. I like Charley Ongel well enough. I'm not a fan of some of Thor Tom's narration. There was a scene in a Chinese restaurant and the narration with those characters could have been done better. It was borderline offensive to me. His narration for the main character was good but others need a little work. 3 stars for the narration

Overall I enjoyed this one. The last book by this author I listened to was cute and funny and this book didn't disappoint.

Jesus fucking christ. This heroine was soooo concerned that she was a slut. I'd hate to see what she thought of me. Slut shaming in a book is always a downer for me. Ladies, embrace your sensuality. Embrace your SEXuality. Don't beat yourself up unless you're out there screwing undeserving randos to make yourself feel better. THEN you can shame yourself.

This was a cute, fun, fast book, with a HEA, but will also have a follow up in 2017, that I am looking so forward to!
This is definitely a young adult romance, with hopes and lessons learned!

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review. I was intrigued by the teaser for this book and just had to read it. Ryan Ringbloom some how managed to take a very sad, emotional topic and by adding a touch of humor created a story that has become dear to my heart. I began reading it last night and binged all day today. I just could not put it down. Holly is suffering from a broken heart. On Halloween night she is set up by a friend on a blind date with her friends brother Nick. In a strange twist of fate, Holly ends up with the lovable Matthew, sexy nerd with a "talking penis". (Yes you read that correctly.) Through the book Ryan takes you on an emotional but humorous journey that Holly and Matthew must travel battling insecurities and exes to find out if they can have more than a two night - one night stand.

This book was an easy read. Holly and Matthew meet in a weird situation and from their weird meeting, they continue to end up together and apart from one another. The two of them just can’t seem to get it right. I liked this but at the same time, it was kind of annoying. I was getting annoyed that the two of them would not just hurry up and get it right.

I liked Matthew’s character. He seemed like he was really sweet and romantic and Holly just kept making me mad because she would not see how great Matthew was. Although, if I were Holly, I would be very cautious of him too.

There was also weird parts of this book. Like the fact that Matthew kept talking to his penis, and also, the fact that he calls his penis “peen”. It was very weird and I honestly tried to skip over those parts. Other than that, the book was okay.

I laughed so hard while reading this book! I needed this book cause I have been reading some heavy stuff, and this one made me laugh until there was tears in my eyes!!

Nerdy Matthew Daniel, is a sweet guy with little people skills. He hits the jackpot when Holly Martin walks up to him thinking he is her blind date. Matthew goes along with it, because she is hot and he doesn't want to run her off. Well, one thing leads to another and they end up back at her place. (she still thinks he is her blind date). All hilarity ensues when she finds out the truth.

This is a cute story. I loved every second of it and it left me wanting more. I was so excited when I read their story is going to be continued in another book!! Can't wait!

This journey between these two is different from what this author has ever written before. At least for me it was. I wanted to pull them both out of the book and give them a time out. Let's face it you will think the same after you read this awesomeness. It brought me to the old but still favorite saying "how many licks does it take to get to the center of the tootsie pop?" The world may never know but in the book let's see a little licking action goes a long way.

Happy Reading

I really enjoyed this book, it was fun and entertaining. Matthew and Holly were like a mess made in heaven. They had me giggling on how they dirty talked each other. So much mishap pointed them in so many wrong direction, but in the end they figured it all out. So much fun, sweet and a real quick read. Would definitely read from this author again.
