Thank you, thank you, thank you to the previous reviewers of this book! The blurb didn’t interest me and I was about to pass on these books. But the reviews were so positive and enthusiastic and each one promised a funny and engaging read so I gave them a try and I’m so glad I did! Two things I can’t resist are a good joke and a good mystery and I certainly got both. I also got something else I love - a set of unique and crazy characters who drew you in right away. In fact there was a town full of them! I enjoyed every word of this trilogy and y’all will have to excuse me now because I can’t wait to get to the next set!
Rose Hill Mystery series is a winner. Don’t miss it!
This is a book I would recommend to anyone who loves a steady dose of mystery, suspense and a surprisingly realistic storyline. Never boring or lagging, perfect timing in storyline changes to keep readers interested. And so many directions it can go. I didn’t realize when I started reading book one that I wouldn’t be able to put it down until I was finished book three! Now I will be looking forward to the next books in the series. Well done!
I highly recommend these books to all lovers of this genre and to all who enjoy a good read..
Pamela Grandstaff is an excellent crafter of intriguing characters and places.. Her stories keep you guessing as she weaves twists and turns into her stories that are worthy of the most intricate web of an orb spider.. Her lovable and whacky characters are sure to warm the cockles of your heart.. They are just like the folks next door and the cousins are like Nancy Drew quadrupled..
I’ve enjoyed getting to know the twisted, lovely, quirky residents of Rose Hill. I would very much like to continue the series but alas! I cannot. The first three books are golden. I loved them.
I really enjoyed this book. The characters were interesting and kind of believable. No one is all good or all bad, just a lot of mixed up people trying to do their best! Some are badder than others though!
ROSE HILL Ed going to check on the stray he found and now finds a dead body behind the vet clinic. Going into the station where Scott and Maggie were playing gin rummy. Realizing their are asking questions as if he was a suspect. The dead guy Theo wasn’t well liked by anyone in town. He was running a scam with his dogs and the breeding, in which he had no females. Good beginning to get to know the characters in the series. The plot was not believe able about the dogs. MORNING GLORY CIRCLE This follows the Fitzpatrick family in this town, their friends, and neighbors. This has to do with poison pen pals, embezzlement, and Margie disappearing. A lot is a retelling of the murder in the first book. Good characters, and noisy neighbors to enjoy knowing. IRIS AVENUE We meet Ray, bartender is a front for selling illegal drugs, and his habit. Scott is busy returning 20 years of stolen mail that Margie had in her attic. Giving .Mandy hers, and also wanting those for a Melissa Wright, she still won’t contact her mother that she is alive. Maggie and Gabe her first love, mysteriously left seven years ago,are having problems. More about the life in this town then a mystery series.
I thought these books would never end. They went on and on. It could have been interesting but I just didn't care about any of the characters. They were all flawed and generally unlikeable. The only reason that I read these is because they was so boring I was able to easily fall asleep at night. Thank goodness these were free. I never would have paid for them.
The main character, Maggie, was so annoying, hemming and hawing about the men in her life. And for no real good reason other than she didn't want to get married. Get real. She pretty much treats her boyfriend like crap but love struck as he is, he keeps going back for more abuse. Her whole family was unlikeable except for the gay brother, who generally just submits to everyone's whims when anyone calls him from his high powered job in the big city. Able to drop everything at a moment's notice, he is Johnny on the spot.
I left feeling like the author generally dislikes people and, in particular, men.
Having read books One through Three, now, I can say Pamela Grandstaff can be added to my list of go-to authors. I have found her writing to be well-paced and her characters entirely realistic. The situations in these three books flowed well and at times were so intense I was totally lost to my surroundings, even when spoken to. Lots of possible romances going, but it looks like only the contrary one will get her man and the conniving sister-in-law will get her chance at a good man. The men keep getting killed, arrested, or in some way removed from the scene. And familiar looking red-headed children keep popping up in unlikely families. Now, it's on the books Four, Five, and Six...
First I want to Thank Sister Melinda Miles...for my Kindle...an adding books for me to read...she hooked me up with all 12 books...I never read such great writing an Reading...it kept my interest..I could not think about reading anything else till I finish this complete series... I felt the Folks from Rosehill...The Family...were a extension of my own Family...I am from Wva ...Va...an currently live in Fla...What a Fantastic Read...All the Characters were like Family to me considering I came from a very very Large Family ...where your cousins were your Best Friends...Thank you...Ms.Pamela Granstaff...for such fun..reading ...❤ I would give 5 stars for every book...Simply Awesome❤
I come from a large family of Irish descendants. Pamala Grandstaff has it down to a T. She immerses you in the goings on in Rose Hill, a small town where everyone but the tourists are related to each other—or are considering a match to be so. This 3-volume set features well-rounded engaging characters and lots of loving-kindness between friends.
I was hooked from the first book, and now I have to buy the second set of three books. The characters are drawn beautifully, warts and all. Everything I thought would happen didn't, and that is always good. The mysteries are solid and the lives of the people of Rose Hill are very interesting. I recommend the series. They are a cross between a cozy mystery and a psychological thriller.
I enjoyed the mystery aspect of the story. However,I did not like the way Maggie (the lead female character) treated the police chief Scott who is in love with her. The character acts like a spoiled brat. She needs to grow up and get over her past. I hope eventually she and Scott do get together.
I honestly didn't think that I would get us caught up in this series as I did. I was determined that I would only read the free books, no more. Unfortunately, I got caught up in this small towns intrigues and now I can't seem to stop.
And I just want to say, damn you Maggie, you're an idiot.
I thoroughly enjoyed this trilogy! It was very exciting plowing through all of the murders in the three books. The only thing I could find wrong with the stories was the large number of sub-characters by the time we got to the third story! It was difficult sometimes to keep them all straight. All in all, it was well written and I'm glad I read the stories.
This book did not interest me at all, the author should have made it more exciting for her readers. Maybe other readers liked the novel but a book must have a good plot and excitement sorry.
Actually, it was an excellent ending for a series. At one point it seemed as if there were too many characters. I had to think about who it was when a name was mentioned . Very good mystery, and entertaining.
Gosh I have stayed up many nights reading and I am up again at 3am purchasing the next series. The entire time I’ve been reading this series I have been hoping that there would be more.
None of these books stand alone. The people in this small town have myriad secrets, partners, mysteries—and there is never any real conclusion. Very frustrating. Even after book 3 there are so many loose ends—I give up.
Really enjoyed reading this three book collection. The main reason I only rated it a four instead of a five was I hated the ending. I really wanted Scott and Maggie to get together.
These are actually the first three books in the Rose Hill Mystery Series. They are great reads, good character development, great plots, but they are "cliff-hangers."
Though you think the book is unending, you realize you can’t put the book down. What tangled lives they have and watching them live together is intriguing and holds you until the end. A good read.
I chose this rating because of the many errors...and because I didn't like the way it ended. I prefer the HEA books, and in my opinion Scott and Maggie belonged together.
Makes me wonder what’s been happening to my mail. Do I have a mail thief? I really like stories that have a continuation of characters and I’m glad to know there are more books.
The characters are complex and the drama is nonstop. You’ll find yourself rooting for your favorite characters and trying to figure out the various mysteries.
These are really well written with strong characters. The first two books did have a mystery element to them, but that changes in book 3. They do read much more like a life drama series rather than a mystery series, which won't be for some mystery fans.
... as fast as I can. So glad there are 3 more. The first 3 were fun, well written, had interesting characters and leave you wanting more. Thank good there are more.
I enjoyed all three of the Rose Hill Mysteries. Masterful story telling and weaving several stories together. She could keep on going (maybe has?) with the unexpected finish to the third in the series.
The three books in this series are well written. I was disappointed that each book ended with lots of information still up in the air. I prefer books with a beginning, middle and an END.
