This is a very well written book and that’s why I gave it 3 Stars. I hope it was written as a spoof because I thought it was down right silly. This is second book by Rossi and I found them both well written but not what I was looking for.

Fantastic.. I knew this was a great book from the start.. Yah Rossi does it again as a great storyteller and research going into this one.
A story set in the 1720s from Virginia to the Islands of Tortuga to London. Charlie crosses pirates, the wild seas of shipping life to find love and danger with his Capt Kells.
I loved the scene with a brave Charlie and the jars of blackberry jam and a sword. Charlie and Kells are both running from something but things are definitely going to catch up with them. Scenes in London had me glued to the story as turns of events were forever changing for Kells and Charlie. The secret for Kell is reveled in London was a WOW moment for me and a good one I didn't expect.
Charlie dreamed of a better life when he was singing in a grungy pub. The night before his 18th birthday he took matters into his own hands by sneaking on-board the Royal Fortune ship. Well it turns not to be his fortune but a pirate ship luckily Captain Kells takes a liking to him.  They grow closer but life has a plan for them which you'll have to read all about. A story I really enjoyed as being an historian researcher myself i could appreciate and connect too. A recommended read..loved it..

What an adventure!

I can not say enough good things about this book! Charlie finds himself looking for adventure on a pirate ship and Captain Kells finds a cabin boy he did not realize he was looking for.

You will find rough seas, rouge pirates, crazy Londoners and most importantly true love in these pages!

Joshua Erik Rossi certainly has a way with words and The Captain and his Cabin Boy have found a place in my heart for many many more reads to come.

Such a fun read!

This book was so fun! It was cheesy and silly, but heartfelt and emotional. I laughed out loud a lot and was smiling so much towards the end. There are some sad moments with how hard Charlie's life was and some during their time in England, but by the end, it's a dream come true. This was a first for me from this author and I quite enjoyed the writing style and pacing.

I enjoyed this book quite a bit, I usually avoid them because I don’t handle the writing of books in the old day like when they say you it is written yer or some other way. It just drives me a little crazy but it wasn’t bad in this one. You understand everything that is going on and get a few laughs in the process.

Slogged thru until 46% when I gave up.

Awful. I kept thinking it would improve. It didn’t.
