Humans. You're not just stupid, you've got gross insides too.

Earth, 1957: Earth receives visitors.

Earth, 2007: Humans discover a number of alien artifacts, buried beneath the ground 4 billion years ago. Project IX scientists find that the artifacts are actually sarcophagi. The people who buried the sarcophagi were not counting on life evolving on Earth.

If arranged in a perfect circle - as they were when first buried but shifted as Pangaea split into the continents - the sarcophagi can provide the earth with a phenomenal energy source.

Three of the sarcophagi have been moved to the moon. The rest remain on earth, awaiting transport.

Moon Base, February 2017:
A sarcophagi opens. Contact between the Moon and Earth is unexpectedly lost.

Adesh Khan, our protagonist, realises that the inscriptions on the sarcophagi are not instructions, but a warning. His realisation comes too late. Adesh Khan shouldn't play with things he doesn't understand.

Helius, a humanoid, has lived on Earth for 4 billion years guarding and protecting the sarcophagi. Helius wasn't expecting the sarcophagi to be opened quite so soon.

And so unfolds a fun little story about an epic alien invasion and the possible end of the world.

The final panel left me wondering if there could be more World War X. It would be interesting to see what happens next. There are a number of places I can see the story going, but considering the title is (as far as I can tell) from 2015 and nothing more has been released, I don't think more is coming *sad face*

World War X is fast, fun, and full of baddies. Just the thing for a tea and biscuit break.

My rating: 4 magical stones out of 5

I read this a very long time ago and I found its premise to be fascinating. The artwork , dialogue and action was great and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole series.

This comic was very pretty - I really liked the art and the extraterrestrials in their many shapes. But the story overall was too trope-y for me and the conflict too easily solved in the end.
