Librarian Note: There is more than one author by this name in the Goodreads database.
James Hunt's passion for writing began at an early age. While his journal of yesteryear may never be the work of great fiction, he's been working hard every day since then to bring pages to life. James has well over a decade of writing under his belt, but his professional career in literature didn't take off until 2014.
James currently lives in Orlando, FL and when he's not pounding away at the keyboard you can find him at the theater or somewhere outside enjoying the beautiful Florida weather.
I judt finished it and have to say all were great stories. Creepy and full of suspense. Thats the sign of a good book lol and all of them fit that to a tee

So, the contents were a little odd at first. There are several versions of some of the stories, after I read the first story and felt like it ended abruptly - possibly for a sequel - I read the next. Some of it was the same as the first, but definitely a different version. So I stopped wondering what the sequence/version was, and just read all the stories.
There are stories by Alexandria Cross, James Hunt, and Roger Hayden. Each story is different, but all center around haunted houses, hence the title. I was a bit concerned that there might be editing issues due to the low price of this boxset, but happily it didn't appear to be an issue. The stories were well written with descriptions that allowed you to envision the places and events taking place. The 1st set of stories take place in Louisiana and of course there is voodoo and swamp creatures involved. The 2nd stories are centered around the massacre of an entire family and their guests at a fancy party years earlier, and the 3rd stories feature a dysfunctional house flipping couple who help bring justice to a family murdered in a beautiful coastal town on the West Coast. There was some colorful language, and light sex scenes, but I think horror genre readers will find this group of stories entertaining.
All of the stories in this box set were awesome but I think my favorite would have to be the last one, The Winchester Mansion. For those of you who love to read about ghosts and haunted mansions, this box set is for you. Three individual series about ghosts and the paranormal along with innocent people who get caught up in the hauntings and they solve mysteries involving the reasons behind the hauntings. I highly recommend this series to you.
This is a brilliant read. Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believeable. Great suspense and action with wonderful world building. Can't wait to read what the author brings out next. Recommend reading.

I have submitted reviews for each title contained within this series set box after listening to the audiobook of this title. (Audible) Each review can be found under the individual title's pages.
I must say how much I have enjoyed these stories. Each is hauntingly different from each other but still griveting in the sinister aspect of human depravity.
Brother and sister ghosts who want to go to Heaven.
Every time a chapter ended I had to quick turn the page to read more. I didn’t want it to end. I very much enjoyed these stories all about the same house throughout different years.

This set of stories kept me entertained for hours. 3 authors, 3 different chilling tales. A must read. I enjoyed it during the weeks prior to Halloween. The perfect precursor to that holiday.
