Fitzwilliam Darcy finds himself in a very compromised position after the Netherfield ball. This is a very short drabble I wrote while I was a little jet-lagged. It just appeared in my head and I had to write it.

This is a short window of time... the Netherfield Ball... and centers around Lizzy going toe-to-toe with Darcy while they argue all night long. It was so well written that the trip through the arguments, chased with the punch, whiskey, and brandy, will make you smile. You can read this in just a few minutes. I must warn you regarding the end… it is a killer of a hoot. I nearly howled with laughter the first time I read it. It is a bit risqué and I wouldn’t think Darcy and Lizzy would take the route WadeH chose for them; however, it was so funny. I simply adored this Darcy, as he was so swoon-worthy.

1st read: 8-3-17 2nd read: 10-13-17: Revised rating to 5-stars. Sometimes you just need a laugh and have to re-read something. I simply adore this one-shot story and the OOC [out-of-character] behavior. The staccato style of writing was so effective and moved the action quickly toward that amazing ending. That was what made the shock so funny. I had to read it again this morning. I needed a laugh with my coffee. 3rd read: 3-20-18: I still think this is funny. 4th read: 11-2-18: OK, I needed a giggle and a Darcy fix. I just love this guy. 5th read: 1-6-19: Start the year the way you want to go. This is still fun to read. I needed a sigh. 6th read: 7-19-19 I love this Darcy… whew! 7th read: 9-16-19 I appear to be on a WadeH bender… so sue me! 8th read: 12-25-19 still funny. I love this Darcy 9th read: 2-19-20 Love this story. There are times you just need a Darcy Fix. Heavy sigh. 10th read: 2-27-22 I couldn’t resist. It has been forever since I last read this. 11th read: 12-3-22 You’re judging me 12th read: 4-8-23 I don’t care 13th read: 6-20-23 Yeah, yeah, so sue me, still funny
I don't rate based on length but on quality, and this is really high on that meter. It's a very well constructed short story. Actually, it's only one scene. It's the morning after the Netherfield ball, and Darcy is laying there thinking about how he got into this compromising position, as there is a lady sharing his bed.
The kicker when the lady awakens and the two discuss what will happen next is priceless!
This is barely a blurb at 886 words. Yet it communicates a complete story. I don't have anything else to say. It is free, it is short, you don't have an excuse.
Very short but entirely amusing as are many of this author's offerings. Dawn reveals a compromise; discussion reveals each other's part. Not what you expect but fun.
Very amusing Pride and Prejudice fan fiction day-after-the-Netherfield-Ball scene. Technically clean, but definitely mature in subject matter. Needs a bit of editing to get a few words right, and could be just a tad longer, I think. As J.W. says, takes just a few minutes to read. Worth reading.
In this Pride and Prejudice short story, our happy couple learns that letting down your inhibitions takes you to where you planned to go a bit earlier. This story is fun with a great surprise at the end.
the lower rating is due to the length. I had to chuckle at the end. It reads as a joke. You have a gentleman from Derbyshire and a fine eyed gentleman's daughter from hertfordshire. They are standing at a punch bowl when one says something the other disagreed with... LOL. light and funny.
