Caramels with a Side of Murder
Daley Buzz Cozy Mystery, Book 2
By: Meredith Potts
Narrated by: Lisa Beacom
This is an audible book I requested and the review is voluntary.
It is a fun book, a murder mystery of a psychic...bet she didn't see that coming! Her sister is seen running from the scene. There are a lot of suspects, including another psychic and she didn't see it coming either she says... There of course is our busy body Sabrina that thinks she has to solve the crime. I don't know how she isn't the next victim! He boyfriend is the cop but she does more work than him. It is a great mystery and I always guess wrong! Lots of twists and turns. Great characters and wonderful plot.
The narrator has a great voice and is able to do all the voices wonderfully. Great job!!!

Sabrina Daley misses her sister every day. A few years before, her sister went out for a run....and was never seen again. When a good friend talks her into visiting a psychic, Sabrina doubts Miss Terri really has any abilities. But then Terri says something that takes Sabrina aback....but before she can return to ask the psychic more questions...the woman is murdered. Who killed the psychic? And...was Miss Terri really gifted?

I'm enjoying listening to this series on audio. Each book is a short, enjoyable listen....at about 3-4 hours in length. Narrated by Lisa Beacom, the audio is good quality. Beacom reads at a nice pace and is easily understandable.

This is definitely a cozy mystery series. There is no sex, cussing, graphic violence, spurting blood, etc. The plots are light and simple, with a lot of discussion about desserts, coffee, etc. Caramels With a Side of Murder is the 2nd book in the Daley Buzz Mystery series. There are 13 books in the series. I'm definitely going to read/listen to the rest of this series. I like to use cozies as a palate cleanser for my brain after some of the heavy adult fiction I read for review....it's nice to just be entertained for a few hours. Light, enjoyable stories...sometimes I need reading to just be fun. :)

On to the next book -- Apple Pie with a Side of Murder!

Audiobook in the genre of Cozy Mystery. Yes please.

Sabrina is our leading lady and her boyfriend is the cop. Sabrina’s sisters case in a cold one. When a fortune teller gives her a glimpse of the answers she craves Sabrina wants more. Unfortunately the fortune teller is murdered. Now Sabrina wants to solve at least one of the cases.

I really enjoyed this book. I have the box set so I’ve started the second book straight away. The ending came fast in this one but I’m really liking this series.

ARC read. My review is honest and my own.

Definitely getting to know the cast a. It more in book two. Miss Terri (sound it out, “mystery), the local psychic, is murdered and she mails the police a letter foretelling her murderer. Or so we all think.

I definitely enjoyed this book. I was surprised caramels were featured beast the chocolate shoppe got fold in book one. These caramels had to be homemade.

This story was well written and kept my interest all the way through. Kinda sorry they killed off the psychic in book two. Maybe they need to get a new one to come to town now. On to book three.

Too many distracting mistakes. Also growing weary of the mystery of her sister's disappearance. She has the same emotional problems, expressed on the same way every dead body. Are these novels fill in the blank forms?

Not very believable

Sort of boring, same thing going on in this book as the last one. Seemed to drag at a lot of places in this book. Still nothing regarding her sister...Just dragging it on.

3.5 Stars. Audio book review. Caramels with a Side of Murder is the second installment of the Daley Buzz Cozy Mystery series by Meredith Potts, and like the first book, I was drawn to the setting: it’s set around a coffee shop, The Daley Buzz, and located in Treasure Cove, a seaside town. Plus, the book cover is cute and enticing – though sadly, neither the caramels nor the corgi makes much of an appearance in the story.

There is comfort when a reader returns to a well-known place. For readers who enjoy a series in which each book follows the same structure and formula, the Daley Buzz cozies are for you. Treasure Cove is a small town (albeit with an alarming murder rate) and our core group of characters is back – and main character Sabrina must make some amends with some of them for false accusations and abrasive behavior in trying to solve the town’s last murder mystery. But look out if you are in her sights as a suspect in the latest murder – in Sabrina and her policeman boyfriend’s book, you are guilty until proven innocent, and you will be harassed until the real murderer is found.

Readers will get to know some of the characters a little better, including Sabrina’s mother, Elizabeth (strangely, she’s called “Elizabeth” by her daughter and that’s not ever explained). I found myself chuckling and nodding in agreement with Elizabeth’s way of thinking, and of course, this line sealed the deal:

"One thing I'm not going to do at my age is waste calories on mediocre chocolate."

We also get to know Sabrina’s best friend Shannon a bit better, but I am on the fence as to how I feel about her. She comes off sounding like a weenie at times, but the reason behind her indecisiveness about which man to pick is an interesting one. Shannon adds an extra layer to the story and gives readers a lighthearted break from Sabrina’s amateur sleuthing.

If you read my review of book one, Chocolate with a Side of Murder, I mentioned that what made me decide to stick with the series were two sub-plots that really piqued my curiosity: the mysteries of main character Sabrina’s ten+ years missing sister and the goings-on at the Waterson estate. It’s clear that the author is intentionally keeping these storylines in the background to move them forward in each of the series installments (I believe there are ten books now). Caramels starts off promising with another sighting at the mansion and Sabrina getting information about her sister from a psychic, but it is like the check-boxes are completed, and those lines are not revisited. There’s also a third story going on in the background: what’s going on with the men’s only secret meetings? Unfortunately, two books in, readers are no closer to knowing anything more about any of these sub-plots, and since I’m not overly fond of the main character, that’s probably going to be a deal breaker for me in continuing the series. On the plus side, since no substantial or new information is presented, it makes Caramels work as a stand-alone, so readers can start with book two and not be much out of the loop.

The writing suffers a bit again because of limited and repeated word and phrase use, unnatural, cookie-cutter descriptions of the characters, and asking the readers to unreasonably suspend their disbelief in terms of police procedures. (And I laughed out loud when Sabrina, who is running a small business, was suspicious of someone working late and said, “I can't remember the last time I was there two hours after close of business." I can't remember the last time I didn't work at least two hours extra!) As I haven’t read a print copy of the book, I can’t be certain if it’s the text or the narrator, but my ear caught some agreement errors and incorrect word choices, so it may be there is also need of some additional proofreading in the print.

The narration of Caramels with a Side of Murder is performed by Lisa Beacom, and this is one place where there is a huge improvement over book one in the series. Lisa’s voice is similar enough to the first narrator’s that listeners aren’t jarred by the change, but she’s infinitely better. Apart from pronouncing the word “caramels” as “carmels” in the first thirty seconds, her narration is fabulous. She has a perfect rhythm to her reading and voices the various characters so that each has his or her own marker.

The basic murder mystery is good and there are plenty of places where readers are misled, so it’s tough to figure out the whodunit part of the mystery. For that and for the sub-plots, I would recommend patient cozy-mystery lovers give the series a try as what bothers me might not be an issue for others. Even if it’s not for me, Caramels with a Side of Murder just might be your cup of coffee.

“Caramels With a Side of Murder” earns 5/5 Cryptic Psychic Messages!

Sabrina Daley is dragged along by BFF Shannon Smith to visit local psychic Miss Terri Baxter, but her cryptic messages send Shannon and Sabrina into a tizzy. Shannon’s triangular love life is a source of frustration, and “…will choose the wrong guy” prediction doesn’t provide any confidence. Then Sabrina is rocked to her core when Miss Terri, without any provocation, says, “Your sister will be found.” Her sister disappeared more than ten years ago, so an inkling of some closure is more than she can handle. Offering to pay any amount of money for more detailed answers is met only with Miss Terri saying she has no answers to give. Then to make matters more disturbing, Sabrina and Shannon both see a light in the window of the long abandoned Watterson Manor along with an odd feeling that someone or something is nearby. When the police arrive at the manor, they find no lights, no people, no clues. Just like caramels things get very ‘sticky’ and Sabrina, her boyfriend detective, friends, and family could be in grave danger…

I am a new and eager fan of Meredith Potts’s writing, and with this book two, her Daley Buzz Mystery series is fast becoming a top favorite. Cryptic psychic messages? Mysterious lights in an abandoned mansion? Another body? Who knew managing a coffeeshop would lead to such dangerous predicaments? Newbies won’t feel completely left out, but there is background, previous investigations, and character connections referenced and several mysteries that weave through the series that are made clearer by first reading book 1 “Chocolates With a Side of Murder.” I found it made for a complete and entertaining experience.

“Caramels With a Side of Murder” continues the exciting, even scary at times, mystery with more than one suspect without a verified alibi, but plenty of motive. The issues with family and especially between sisters continue to play out as Sabrina is confronted with her own deep emotions over her missing sister and people who have moved on. Although the murder d’jour has an “Oh, I should have guessed!” conclusion, the mystery surrounding her sister’s disappearance, the lights in the abandoned manor, and the secret interactions among some of the local men continues into the next book. I found Meredith’s characters well developed with realistic conversations, reactions, and relationships. My favorite is Sabrina, but in this story I am beginning to greatly enjoy her grandmother Betsy who is the matriarch of the family having started the coffeeshop and is delightfully busy with her book club, yoga classes, creating sweet treats, and having a pulse on the local gossip. I highly recommend this series; it is an easy read, engaging, and entertaining!

"Disclosure: A review copy of this book was sent to me by the author, however all of the above opinions are my own.”

This is my review of the audio version as posted on Audible:

It's my first book both by Ms Potts and Ms Beacom and although I generally think it's an OK story with an OK narration, there are some things that I found a bit irritating... But overall it gave me some pleasure so I'd say give it a chance.

What I liked about it? The relationships between Sabrina and her relatives and friends, the way her personal life interferes with the investigation, the way people react to what has been happening, the fast pace of the plot itself...
What then did I find irritating a bit about the book? I don't know about America, but where I live a civilian is NEVER allowed to participate in a police investigation unless he/she is an offical consultant or expert... It's just so unbelievable for me that Sabrina is not only allowed to freely enter the scenes of the two murders committed in the book but she's also present in the interrogation room and during all the conversations of the leading detective with witnesses/suspects - even if she's his girlfriend, and a smart, intuitive one at that... Nonetheless, wouldn't that be grounds for rejecting any evidence the police acquired in such circumstances? Also, I kind of had a feeling that there wasn't much to lead us to the solution, just a set of inconclusive talks with the suspects and then boom, one piece of evidence found at the scene of the crime and Sabrina solves the case... I know it's a cozy mystery, so the amateur sleuth is supposed to solve the case, but I somehow lacked the solid police work somewhere in the background, especially that Sabrina officially accompanies a police detective in his investigation... It felt as if Castle was doing all the work and Beckett was taking the back seat not even really trying to do her job, only with genders reversed here... Sabrina and David just didn't feel like equal partners to me.

But, all that said, the plot itself was rather interesting, with quite a bunch of colourful suspects and a though-provoking take on psychics and their customers' reactions to their visions, so I'd say the book was OK. I didn't feel like I'd wasted a few hours of my time...

As for the narration, it was generally good, with nice differentiation of voices. The only thing that irritated me initially was the fact that Ms Beacom sounded overexcited in the narrative parts, especially in the first hour or so. But then I got used to it and it didn't bother me so much later on. So it's more like 3.5 stars again for the narration, not 3.

Call me a sucker; I gave in and spent $6 to get all the books in this series, despite my review for the first one. I figured: might as well go all out and see this through to the end. That, and I’m a soft spot for Corgis (and cats) on the cover of cozy mysteries.

First things first: I’m definitely starting a new drinking game for this series, called “Forehead Wrinkled”. Another possible name for this game: “Eyebrows Arched”. Either way, I’m gonna land in the hospital from alcohol poisoning—mark my words. Because of this new game, it automatically gets one star.

A few other sigh-inducing things:

— There’s a lot of panicking, deep-searching into eyes, lip-biting, nose-scrunching, and squinting going on. Not sure how anyone gets things done.

— Again, Sabrina seems to know the ages of all the new people she comes across; did she inherit Miss Terri’s ‘psychic’ powers?

— David, again, has no problem with Sabrina helping with his investigation. She’s even present for every questioning! How is this okay? Sabrina even mentions David’s captain would not be cool with her being in the middle of an official investigation. Yet, there she is!

—This first-person POV is told rather oddly; Sabrina refers to her mother as “Elizabeth”: ‘Elizabeth replied’... ‘Elizabeth said’... ‘Elizabeth asked’. I noticed this in the previous book.

—David and Sabrina are quite mean to a “spiritual advisor”; David doesn’t believe in ‘psychics’, and Sabrina wasn’t too sure, at first, thanks to Miss Terri, but she becomes verbally vicious to the “spiritual advisor” when she’s with David during an interview.

— Caramel isn’t even mentioned until chapter 32.

— Sabrina’s huge speech, revealing to the killer how they figured out how they caught them, instead of David doing so—ya know, the one who should’ve had the honor, since he’s, like, a cop.

— We’re no closer to knowing about Sabrina’s sister, the mysterious lights at the abandoned estate, or the secret, men-only meetings.

The central plot was decent, and I was also pleased to see that a few suspects from the first book were not automatically so forgiving of Sabrina. I like that this series is (so far) a straight-forward cozy mystery; there’s no sex or foul language, thankfully. As for the town of Treasure Cove, living in a town full of Victorian-era homes near the ocean sounds lovely; I wouldn’t mind visiting such a place—provided no one arches their eyebrow at me.

Murder is heartbreaking, tragic and final, especially when it is a loved one that is victimized. Disappearances may be even worse. With death, at least there is a way for someone to move on and to grieve over their loved ones. But, without a body and with the realization that they could very well walk into their lives again at any moment, it is a perpetual discontinuance of life. Life is on hold and they are left waiting continuously. Waiting and wondering.

Another murder in the quaint little town of Treasure Cove. How did this little town without so much as a petty criminal history, have become such a dangerous place to be? This was a travel destination for most, but after hearing about two murders…it will surely dry up faster than the killer can be found. Miss Terri, a local physic, is found dead the day after Sabrina goes for a reading. Is that just coincidence? The fact that Miss. Terri drops a bombshell of a statement right in Sabrina’s lap about her missing sister…one who Miss Terri should really know nothing about. With her detective boyfriend, Sabrina is on the case yet again. She has started to become a natural at detective work…one thing that she really doesn’t want to be good at seeing the string of murders has picked up in the town lately. Can Sabrina get down to the bottom of who struck Miss Terri out before the next murder?

Potts has an entertaining murder mystery; however, there are a lot of untied ends which may or may not be broadcast in later installments. The characters are all pretty detailed and cagey, allowing the reader to be suspicious of everyone that the victim knew. The pace is fast and flows together and the book seems to have been written well. This review is complementing the audiobook; therefore, this observance is from the voice relay. The narrator did personify the main character exceptionally well; however, her other vocalizations and personalities weren’t very pronounced or lacked differences. If you are a reader of cozy mysteries and women’s fiction, this may be something to pick up; however, it is recommended that the series be read in order since the second installment is a continuance of the first in terms of character involvement and reoccurring investigations.

An audiobook was provided to Turning Another Page from Audiobookworm Promotions and in no way affects the honesty of this review. We provide a four-star rating for Caramels with a Side of Murder by Meredith Potts.

I am actually giving this a 3 1/2 *
Caramels with a Side of Murder by Meredith Potts is book 2 in the Daley Buzz Mysteries Series. This book pretty much leaves off where book 1 Chocolates with a side of murder leaves off. This time Sabrina is taken by her best friend to visit Miss Terry the town psychic. Miss Terry tells Sabrina her sister will be found, but gives her no more information. The next morning Sabrina heads back to ask Miss Terry more questions. Instead of talking to her she finds Miss Terry dead.

David, Sabrina's cop boyfriend is on the case to solve the murder. Sabrina weasels her way into investigating the murder as well.

I personally do not like Sabrina or David. They interrogate everyone as if they had evidence they were guilty, instead of no evidence at all. I felt so bad for the poor son and sister. The way the 2 went after them was just shameful, but yet they were so easy on the boyfriend. They have no evidence on anyone so everyone is considered guilty until proven innocent.

When Sabrina runs into Melissa from book 1 who she accused of murder. I wanted to slap Sabrina when she got all huffy when Melissa does not accept her apology. She only apologized to try and get info on someone anyway.

I do think David should be taking the lead on the investigation instead of standing back and letting Sabrina do it. If Sabrina wants to be a cop maybe she should go to school and get her badge.

I think if the characters were a bit more likable I would enjoy this series more. The story lines are good. The mystery is really good and leaves you waiting until the very last pages. That I really like. I don't really like knowing within the first few chapters who the murder is.

Lisa Beacom narrates this audiobook. I do prefer her narration over book ones narration with Lainie Pahos. She does very well with the character voices and kept my attention better.

I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Meredith Potts. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.

CARAMELS WITH A SIDE OF MURDER is the second book in the Daley Buzz Cozy Mysteries. They do need to be read in the order of release.

Even better than the first book. The new narrator was a great improvement, too. Ms. Beacom has a very nice voice and does the characters well. She has “theater of the mind” down pat!

I enjoyed the story of the psychic who couldn’t see her own death in the cards. I guess you can’t read your own? The side story of Sabrina’s friend, Shannon, trying to decide between her two guys and the tizzy Miss Terri’s prediction is leaving her in is another source of giggles for me. I could just imagine how the poor girl is second guessing herself. How was this psychic doing so well for herself and why hadn’t anyone killed her in frustration sooner!?

As a cozy mystery, Ms. Potts did a great job! She kept me guessing and entertained. I truly loved it and hope to read/listen to more of this series as they come available.

Note: while I was given this book as a gifted audiobook copy, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

As always Meredith wrote a great read and has improved so much over the two years I have been reading her books. Sabrina is looking for her sister so she goes to see a physic to help her hoping that she can help her. The physic, Miss Terri doesn't really have any information for her other than her sister is still alive and she will find her. Sabrina gets to thinking about it and thinks maybe a second reading will help so she goes back. Oh no, she finds Miss Terri on the floor dead! Now she has a murder to solve and what about that mysterious light that keeps coming on at the old abandoned house?? Now it is really getting interesting!! Somebody really wants to discourage Sabrina for continuing, but with her detective fiancé, David by her side she will not give up. She'll see it to the end. Will she find the murder?? Will she find her sister still alive?? This is a book you don't want to miss!! I was given this book in exchange for an honest opinion and that is what I give. I love her titles, I just wish she would send some of those delicious treats too. Meredith always interacts with her readers and not many authors do that. She is a special person & it shows in her writing. If you have never tried her books you really should. She is a good mystery writer with a little romance thrown in. It’s so good I just read it again!

Well Sabrina is at it again. Sabrina goes with her friend Shannon to visit a psychic, Terri. Leaving the psychic with more questions than answers, Sabrina decides to pay her another visit to find those answers. Upon Sabrina’s arrival she finds a woman running away and the dead body of Terri. Instead of telling Sabrina to stay out of the investigation, David lets her tag along. Will Sabrina and David solve the murder before the murderer can strike again? Will Sabrina sister’s disappearance be solved? What are those lights in the mansion?

This book is the second in the series for the Daley Buzz. It is a cute and cozy read. Meredith Potts has a great group of characters in this series. I do feel that not much progress has been made in the mysteries of the mansion, the secret meetings and her sister’s disappearance. It is a little disappointing, but I am enjoying the series. There is a lot of who done it, keeping you guessing till the end. So if you like caramels, which reading this book will make you crave them, then this is the book for you.

I have read the first two books in this series.

I do like your books, but I have found a few mistakes that should have been noticed by a proof reader. In this book, you said one character's house number was 175, but when David and Sabrina drove there, you had them stop at 125. Also, Sabrina drove to the interview with Kenneth and Erin at Erin's house, but after the interview, David dropped her off at Daley Brew. And some of your descriptions of characters are a little too detailed at first glance. You described Erin Baxter as a 48-year-old brunette, who was 5'2", with a slender body, an oval face, and hazel eyes. How could Sabrina know her exact age and height, and see her eye color when Erin was running away from her through a backyard? I do like your books. I'll be starting the third one as soon as my Kindle charges back up.

She didn’t see it coming…

Sabrina Daley is almost afraid to hope for her older sister's return. It has been ten long years. Sabrina’s world is turned upside down when a local psychic assures her that Jessica will be found but not whether she will be dead or alive. Life is further complicated when returns to the psychic and discovers her dead body. Suspects abound and her boyfriend, Detective David Carlson, invites her to investigate the murder with him since otherwise, she will do it alone.

The Daly Buzz Treasure Cove books are an enjoyable cozy series. The characters are interesting but it is hard for me to believe that any detective, even a boyfriend, would allow a civilian to take an active part in questioning witnesses during an investigation. It’s a light, fun mystery.

With Chocolates With a Slice of Murder (book 1) leaving some unanswered questions, I was ready to read book 2. Caramels With a Side of Murder (book 2), involves the murder of psychic, Teri Baxter. Sabrina Daley and her friend had just seen Teri and gotten readings. Sabrina's reading included a reference to her sister, Jessica, who disappeared over 10 years ago. Anxious to get more specific information from Teri, Sabrina returns to her home the next day but finds her dead. Sabrina and her police detective boyfriend, David Carlson, work together to question suspects and discover the murder's identity. I enjoyed reading about Treasure Cove CA, Sabrina and her friends and family, and all the possible suspects. With more unanswered questions, I'm ready to read book 3.

Can Sleuthing Really Help a Romance?

To answer my question above, I really think it can! Just take Sabrina and " her boyfriend, " as she refers to him often. The ending of this book brought them closer together because Sabrina is truly a detective! It's just so sad that a budding romance lead to Terri's murder! I have this book 5 stars because it just goes to show what a murder can do to love! I leave you with a quote from Sabrina, "“You’re right about that,” I said. “I don’t understand how twisted a person’s mind has to be to commit murder.” It's a great read! I am now on to book #3! Here's hoping that there will be some clues to Sabrina's sister's disappearance!

Caramels with a Side of Murder
Meredith Potts

This is a short cozy murder mystery. An enjoyable quick listen.

Sabrina and her friend visit a psychic that ends up murdered. Lots of suspects the boyfriend, his ex girlfriend, the estranged husband, the son, also the sister. Who wanted Miss Terri dead? Sabrina and her detective are investigating. My only complaint is that I don't need to know every character's age, address and complete description.

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. Lisa Beacom gave an awesome performance.

I love this second book as much as I loved the first. One of the things I most enjoyed is how it takes back those threads pointed at in the first book (Daley's sister disappearance, the all-men secret? club) and keeps hinting at it, without revealing anything. Just the acknowledgement that those things are still there.

I enjoyed the mystery and the characters keep growing which makes me want to know what will happen next.

And, as if that wasn't enough, Lisa Beacom does a magnificent work with her reading.

A great choice for those who love cosies.

Never Too Many Caramels

Not in the mood for blood and guts with a heavy dose of treachery? Settle down with a book by Meredith Potts. I just finished Caramels With A Side Of Murder. Meredith plots a cozy that allows you to sleep at night without nightmares. Her characters find themselves in unusual circumstances but they have family, friends and law enforcement on their side. The days jobs of these citizens provide relief from too many murders, too many psychics, or too many caramels. Enjoy the fun and challenge yourself to uncover the bad guys before the heroine!

** audio book review **
Another great mystery for Sabrina Daley. In supporting a friend she gets a psychic reading by Miss Terri that brings up heartbreak. Soon she is dreaming of her sister, who has been missing for 10 years, telling her to find her. The only issue is there are no clues to go on. When she goes to Miss Terri's house to ask some questions she finds her dead body. This is the second dead body that Sabrina has found lately and soon she is involved in the murder investigation with her boyfriend David. I really enjoyed more of David in this story. He is a great investigator and Sabrina is a great help to him. I really had no idea who the killer was until the end. I couldn't even make a good guess. The author did a great job keeping me guessing. A truly great mystery. This narrator was the perfect voice for Sabrina. I am looking forward to continuing on. I want to know more about her sister's disappearance!

I enjoyed the relationship story as well as the mystery. The clues were there, ready for me to put two and two together, but I did not. When my choice got eliminated, I figured it out. As for the relationship, I loved the interactions between Sabrina and David, and her friends like Shannon. This gave the story more depth, and I really liked that. Lisa Beacom did a wonderful job with the voices and all the emotions. She was a pleasure to listen to.

I received a copy of this audiobook as a gift, and this is my unsolicited review.

Plot threads dangle everywhere in this book. The title is only briefly referred to and that almost at the end of the book. Characters not developed. Developments hinted at then dropped.

Not an unpleasant read but not a series I’m likely to pursue or a book that I can really recommend. I usually find good in most books I finish and this wasn’t a book I had to force myself to finish. However, it just wasn’t very tightly constructed and seemed like the author just threw ideas and plot twists out as they occurred to her.

I received an ARC copy of the book in return for an honest review.

One thing about snuffling around in the TBR pile is that sometimes I get lucky and snaffle the audio! That's just what happened here and I'm so pleased.
This pleasant small town cozy has coffee, murder, a psychic, small town cops, and a whole bunch of suspects, twists, and red herrings. This murder gets solved, but there are still some weird happenings that I hope to dig into in subsequent books.
Lisa Beacom does a great job as narrator!

After a visit to the local psychic Sabrina's world is turned upside down. When she goes back to get more information she finds the psychic dead. Was she murdered by a upset client?, her very recent ex-boyfriend? or her money hungry sister? What does the other resident "psychic" know about the killing and who says caramel truffles aren't diet food? Settle in with a very LARGE latte and join Sabrina on another investigation.

David's super sleuth.
Wow what a start to this story and then we get hit with a murder too the author went all out on this gem. As always this one has great characters and totally awesome twists I really enjoyed this cozy. Will all the questions be answered nope but what is the fun in that looking forward to the next book! I am so happy to recommend this cozy. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

A well-done whodunit. When Sabrina Daley visits Miss Terry, a psychic, for the first time, she learns some rather disturbing news. Her second visit is even more disturbing: Miss Terri is dead. Thus begins the case of whodunit. Working with her boyfriend, Detective David Carlson, she helps to unravel the mystery.

Easy-to-read. Entertaining. Funny. Romantic. Scary. Tragic. Twisted. Unpredictable. Whimsical. Wonderful characters.
