Apocalypse. The End. Annihilation. Dead Hope (Jack Zombie Book 2) by Flint Maxwell is an exciting book that takes off right where book one left off. You don't have to read book one to enjoy this book, the author catches you up without spoilers. Book one is great so I would suggest that one either way. This book is full of action, emotions, great dialogue, terror, suspense, and through it all...love. Great book. I was given this book to read but the review was optional.

It was ok but not as good as the first
I thought the antagonist was cheesy and dumb and the final fight to be... corny. I keep reading these in the series thinking it'll get better but the long drawn out scenes make me weary. Just like a bad flick I keep reading hoping it will get better.

So it picks up 6 months later. I didn't like that. Darlene is kinda TSTL. And when did Jack turn into super wise zombie guru? I'll give the next book a shot.

I thought I was tired of zombie stories. But in this one am caught up in Flint's style of writing. When I read I feel part of the story, right I him and I am sitting on the edge of my chair, knowing all to well, this one is way far from being realistic (I hope). Telling the story is an author of Zombie stories. Clever and I've seen it done before and I was a little surprised that it worked out so well. I am already reading "Dead Nation", third of his series. I started this series, not even sure which day it was, but finished Dead Hope last night. It's not heavy reading, it's just plain entertaining and right now that is what I need - an escape from reality. Now that 2020 is over and I hope things are getting back to normal, it is even less real but I am going to carry on just because it is fun!

Eden is Crazy
Jack and his family look to find a safe place with the zombie apocalypse. Eden sounds like it will fit the bill, until they actually get there. Eden like any so called paradise is lost. Crazy runs it. Jack and his family fight for there lives. Yet at the end a flicker of hope, is there a possible cure. A lot of action. Characters have more depth. Horror is present throughout. Book is good. Story seemed a little disjointed at times, this may be related to the crazy element. It was a little cartoonish which reduces the impact of the horror atmosphere. Still looking forward to next book.

Oh it's getting better and better!
If you have watched the walking dead, think of the first bar shut crazy bad guy who kept zombie heads alive in tanks and his zombie kid chained in a small room, add Neegan.....that's this fake cowboy creep! I'm cheering for the writer ( of course) but also love the two new recruits. I feel bad for those lost, but it is an apocalypse....downloading 3 RIGHT NOW!

Very poor grammar. Been tensed and plural nouns are crazy. Story line is good and characters are improving since the first book. I will read the next installment since it is free, but I am not sure I would pay for it. Reminds me of The Walking Dead.
The grammar is horrible in this book. Verbs and plurals are even hard to comprehend at times. Characters are improving and plot is okay. Gets gruesome at times.

This has Walking Dead written all over it. All I could do is think about Negan and his people. Very predictable and also, probably from watching Walking Dead, I'm pretty much zombied out. I guess I was expecting something different hence me giving it a try, but it had nothing new, and I get it, it's hard to bring something new to the table when there is only so much that can happen in an apocalypse with zombies out to get you.

Jack Jupiter And Family
The series gets better. This is a great Zombie apocalypse story. The story is filed with sad times, not so sad times. It is also filled with nice times, laughs, and hope. Flint Maxwell did a great job with this second book of this series. Moving on to book three!

Dead Hope starts Six months after chaos in Woodhaven and the virus outbreak in book one book 2 starts.
Jack and the gang may have survived what happened there but he cannot stop the virus or out run it. This story just gets better and better. In this one, we lose people but it is also full of laughs and hope. I do love the humor between the characters too.

If you haven't already read plethora of Zombie Books, then this one is OK.
But, if you are an avid Zombie Fiction reader, this book is just a copy of small tit bits from several Zombie Books and TV Series.
Mad Max Style Rogues, A Negan Style Bad Top Guy, Again same strategies used by Negan, etc etc.
Had to stop reading after a while.

Ok book
The first book was better but starting this one several months later I think hurt it. The characters should have grown these seem to have gotten weaker. Going across the country they would have all learned how to survive

worst zombie novel I have ever read in my live. Characters with no logic and really bad grammar, at least if I make one person avoid this book I will feel that my time reading it wasn’t at a complete loss

I was disappointed in this follow up. Should have been edited a second and maybe a third time. I finished it but skipped a lot of stupid people doing stupid things with sketchy motivations.

What a blast!
I really enjoyed this series. A lot like the Walking Dead show, but a bit simpler in plot line. Lots of well written suspense scenes. Gore and zombies abound!

A good continuation of the story. A few twists in to keep it interesting. I really enjoyed it.

Excellent next addition to the series, but I did feel a lot of super close influence to The Stand in this one.

The characters are developing and feel more rounded, they also have more input this time round.
The story has chases, fights, life or death (or undeath) situations and guns, gotta love guns in the apocalypse.
A thumbs up for the second Jack Zombie book, a 4.5 star if I could give that score.

Picking up where they left off at the end of Dead Haven, Jack and his Slayers are back at it. This books packs the same wallop of suspense and terror that the first book did. You see the characters become more complex and multi-dimensional. And, as their friendships get deeper, so does your own personal investment in the characters. The plot moves along at a rapid pace and stays fresh and exciting. This can be read as a stand alone, but you really should read the first one in order to become fully saturated in the storyline, before you immerse yourself in book 2.

Zombies and gore and adventure. All three books so far in this series have been intense, page turners. Jack just won't stop. Him and his little family are on another impossible mission and he's dead set on accomplishing it. We meet new insane enemies and others who tell him once again his goal is impossible. That's simply not a word they understand though. You should definitely check this series out if you enjoy zombie apocalypse stories. This one will quickly become your favorite!
