As a physical therapist, I can vouch for the research and accuracy of the information this author shared. Very well researched, excellent experience in using his rollers, and written for laymen to understand. Great resource!
As a person who struggles with back pain and has tried foam rolling and not been very successful before I was a little skeptical of this book. I can honestly say I was pleasantly surprised with the success and relief that this book offered for muscle pain. The chapters go into detail on how each form should look and use a language that is easy to understand and follow thus making it user friendly. I have passed my copy on to my husband to try it and I hope that he finds it just as helpful. The only thing I would say it could use more of is step by step pictures or maybe even a disc that shows someone demonstrating each of the techniques.
I received a copy of this book for my honest review.
A very clear and useful book on foam rolling. It's a repeat, for me, of many things I already know. But there are some really nice expansions into the differences of rolling before or after sports and how to incorporate them with different situations and injuries. Also goes into how to find what to roll vs roll everything. Also covered are various types of devices that are used; not just the foam roller.
Pretty straightforward in its delivery of information. Well worth keeping as a reference for various situations.
Continuing education for recertification. A good review of major and minor muscles, how they work together and their relationship with joints. The book demonstrates how foam rolling can keep muscles/joints healthy, prevention of possible injury, as well as a tool for rehabilitation and to lessen pain. Most importantly in a safe way without causing further damage.
