Rate this book
A simple, visual symptom checker that helps you match your symptoms and health problems to possible conditions, and quickly directs you to the correct treatment.

Whether it's a symptom you've been ignoring for a while or something like a sudden pain after a fall, this book tells you what it could be and what action to take. Head-to-toe visual diagnostic guides help you identify suspected conditions or injuries based on symptoms, from headaches to foot pain and everything in between. Once you've narrowed it down, a cross-reference takes you to easy-to-follow descriptions of the condition at the back of the book. Potentially life-threatening situations and ailments that need urgent medical advice are clearly flagged. Fully illustrated throughout, the Medical Symptoms: A Visual Guide is an invaluable reference.

Finished reading it like a novel honestly, but I definitely gonna keep it on my device to check it occasionally.

It was not a complete book obviously but the idea and making was amazing and very helpful, to me at least.

I loved the way it categorised and visualized symptoms of each medical condition.

2019 bk 432. Was given this as a booth was packing to head home after a convention - it wouldn't fit in the box and the vendor didn't want to start a new box. This is a simplistic manual and not similar to the Symptions 'choose your own adventure style' of the book my sister has. If you have a back problem, look up backs. This is more aches and pains, but with side boxes for possible diseases. The pictures are DK perfect. I did learn things about my own aches and pains and the price was right. Would I pay $19.95 US for it? Probably not, but I would check it out from my public library. This does at least give talking points of what to say to a physician.

Leukemia
The cancerous white blood cells are unable to fight infection; lack of red blood cells leads to anemia; and reduced levels of platelets lead to excessive bruising and bleeding. The cancerous white cells also spread to other organs. Leukemia may develop rapidly (acute) or more slowly (chronic) and may be fatal without treatment, which may include anticancer drugs, blood transfusions, radiation therapy, or a bone marrow transplant.

This book explains the names of each part of the human body and the symptoms, as well as the name of the disease and how to treat it and those are explained with images.

Having a copy of this book at home will be useful in case of emergency. Medical terms are also available in dictionary form, so you can use this book when explaining your symptoms to your doctor.
