Beyond the tallest mountains, in a forest far away, There's a haven safe from tigers, where gentle animals stay. They hide there from predators and live a life of ease, Eating lots of vegetables and fruit that grows on trees.
My granddaughter gave this story a five. She liked that the daddy and mommy bear weren't as mean as they looked. And that all the other animals finally accepted the baby bear.
Short tale that is simple and to the point. Preconceptions will often surprise you. Story revolves around a school for gentle animals in the forest. When a young bear enrolls, many of the animals ignore him because they fear he will become a dangerous threat to them. They are nervous when his birthday arrives; mama and papa bear are scheduled to bring a birthday cake to celebrate. Will they all be devoured by the adult bears? There is a surprise ending to reinforce the idea that appearances can be deceiving.
The rhymes in this book are clever and well done. Illustrations are simple but expressive and hit their mark. While the book is targeted for ages two through nine, I think it will be most effective for five through eight year olds.
Purchased for my four year old nephew who has been trying to get me to download him some bedtime stories. After allowing the Kindle audio to read the book to him we reviewed the book for his understanding and sure enough he understood the concept of being sad because no one would play with the little bear. The illustrations were bright and colorful and the rhymes were great! We enjoyed it together. Also had a free puzzle to download but so far we haven't gotten it to cooperate and there was a free flip book in the back for agreeing to receive the author's newsletter! We hope to enjoy the treats for reading the book!
WoW! What a great story about not judging others immediately!!
I enjoyed this story and thought it had a very good moral in it,too! Therefore, I would like to recommend this ebook for five stars and for kids 2-7 years of age. Also has some very bright and colorful illustrations in it,too! I received this ebook for free and in return, here is my honest review. I had already reviewed the other ebook Sigal. Super job! Again and again I find Sigal's beautiful books a must have for kids and grand-kids. Her beautifully illustrated stories are fun to read and the illustrations add such beauty to the books. I loved this story which helps kids to realize that sometimes when something or someone looks scary, that may not be true. If you don't have Sigal Adler's books for the little ones you love you should.

My 9 yr old read it to the 3 yr old and this is her review Kya: pictures were nice, story was great. Favorite character was the little bear because when he was at school sometimes people wouldn't play with him and that's how she feels when her friends are playing with someone else. Also liked the ending when everyone started being friends with the little bear.
This is a darling little book for young children. The rhymes are fun and teach a good lesson about judgement and acceptance. What I loved most, however, were the bright and beautiful illustrations! Very engaging and any child is sure to love them.
Was a lovely rhyming story with great illustrations reminding and/or teaching people not to judge someone or something because they're different! The author included a lovey colorful jigsaw puzzle to do also!
