Since I subsist mostly on soup this is a terriffic book. I think one of my favorites is the minted pea and yogurt soup. There's also a tasty cream of chicken and a pretty red lentil that's yummy on a cold winter day. The spiced pumpkin soup garnished with cream makes me salivate just thinking about it and for one last temptation try the Lobster Bisque with just the right ammount of heavy cream. This is a small shy little book with lots of surrisingly easy recipies inside that will make you feel like you actually KNOW what you are doing in the kitchen, and will impress anyone, if you say

*ahem* Creamy Chicken and Coconut soup.
Do you need more reasons to snag a copy or 'borrow' from a friend?
Traditional Wanton Soup.
Beef and Barley.
Seriously, I could go on and on with the other drool-inducing, cuddle-up-on-a-rainy-afternoon, big-hit-at-any-party adjectives to explain these delicious splendors.
The instructions are simple to follow and the ingredients are obtainable - no need to hike the Alps in search of a Sherpa with mystical herbs from Shangri-La.
