I did a bad thing.
I did a really bad thing. I’m not a bad person, I swear. I just made a few mistakes.
Mistake number one was agreeing to rent my hotel out to an insufferable a**hole, named Aden Smith. Mistake number two was ignoring his threats to sue me when he handed over a list of items he deemed “unacceptable”. Mistake number three was diving into the pool to save his life when he fell. It would have been less complicated to hide his body.
When the hospital refuses to let me know how he is, without permission from his immediate family, I panic.
Claiming to be his wife might be my biggest mistake yet—especially when he believes me!
He might have been the one drowning, but I’m sinking in a bed of lies and going down fast—and there’s not a rescue in sight.
Complete Standalone FULL LENGTH NOVEL Pages listed will not be representative of the final product. Happy Ending, Laugh Out Loud Comedy and an Alpha Hero with his eyes only on one woman all contained inside.
I'm just a simple small town country girl, haunted by Alpha Men who talk in my head 24 hours a day.
I knew I wanted to write when it became clear I couldn't be happy with just viewing other people's stories. I always wanted to rewrite them.
Like why did Jack have to die? Why couldn't Rose move her butt over? Because that was a huge piece of wood she was on, people.
Happy Endings should be fought for, but they should always happen. Mine might take some curves and twists, but they eventually get there.
Having published over fifty stories, it always feels surreal that this is my life. Hitting USA Today had me crying for days, but nothing is more special than hearing from readers that they loved one of my books.
Well this was one hot hilarious treat! I went into this story thinking that I was going to get a few laugh out loud moments with some very likable characters but I got SO.MUCH.MORE!! I honestly tried my best to read this one as slow as possible but when you have a storyline like this, savoring it will be the last thing on your list.
Everyone knows that the hardest job ever, is being a parent but when you’re a single parent, your workload has magnified into infinity. For Hope Lucas, nothing is more important than her two year old son and making a stable for them. Now the new owner of a Motel that she’s inherited, Hope is determined to make it a success despite the amount of work that has to be done on it. With nothing short of a miracle and round the clock hard work, the opening of “Hard Acre” Motel is quickly approaching and for Hope, getting this place to be a success would mean everything to her and her son. But when she gets her first guest from hell, success will be the least of her problems. Staying out jail, just became her number one priority.
Famous bad boy movie star Aden is in desperate need of a break. With the constant spotlight and his demanding schedule, Aden knows that if he doesn’t walk away and take some time out for himself, he’s going to go crazy soon what better way to get some time for yourself in a town where no one knows who you are? With no choice but to check into the ONLY Motel in town, to say that Aden is in a foul mood, would be a HUGE understatement. But there’s just one little problem… the Motel won’t be open for another two weeks due to inspection. I honestly held my breath when those words came out of Hope’s mouth and what happened next was a series of snort laughter’s, mixed up assumptions, and me playing the invisible referee.
This was my first time reading anything by this author so I really didn’t know what to expect but I have to say that she’s now just gained a new Stalker fan. I fell in love with the humor, and the unbelievable funny as hell banter but what made the story to me was Hope’s determination and fight when it came to her business. This woman did it all she certainly made a lot of mistakes along the way, but she was real and messy and so lovable.
Now as for Aden, that man made me call in favors to NOT end up in jail on a weekend! Without a doubt he tested my patience the first half of the book and I was already plotting his demise but something unbelievable happened: I started to actually like him after!! I know, I know, I’ll be getting my head examined real soon but if you’ve ever read about any male characters that would have you sharpening all of your deadly tools and then dropping your panties the next, well this man is the leader of the group! You can try to fight it all you want but once he starts talking, there’s really no use for underwear at this point.
If you’re looking for a hilariously sexy read with a small town charm mm then this is the perfect one for you.
We briefly met Aden on book 1 and I was okay with him, although he did appear like some kind of diva (is there an equivalent for male actors?). Anyway, that was the first sign. Still, I chose to read this because the plot was interesting. It's, once again, a little bit of a déjà vu, but oh well! "Famous" actor is tired of the business and wants to try to write his first book. Under the advice of one of his friend, he books a room in a motel lost in the middle of nowhere.
There, we meet Hope. Hope, mother of a 2 yo little boy, has just been fired and learned that she inherited of a motel in the middle of nowhere from an aunt or something like that. I don't remember. Anyway, she moved her whole life there but everything is in a pretty bad shape and she barely have any money, she's a mess.
Comes Aden. He is two weeks early, the motel is still in a bad shape, it hasn't passed inspection yet and like I said, Hope barely knows what she's doing. HE IS TWO WEEKS EARLY, HE NEEDS A PLACE TO STAY and he decides that the best option is to be a JERK to the only person that can provide him with a bed. You think you've met assholes?? You haven't met Aden. Really, what kind of man was that?? He treats her like shit, there's no other word. I'm ranting because I'm so MAD lol Sir needs to have is sheets changed every days, nothing is good with the motel - get your ass out of here, maybe?! No, he stays just because getting the poor girl mad amuses him. Asshole.
I should have stopped then. But then, the blurb did say that something bad was going to happen, that Hope would have to lie and pretend to be his wife to visit him in the hospital, so I HAD TO KNOW. And okay, yes, I wanted to be there when the jerk would get hurt lol
I should have left when I saw how ridiculous the accident was and I'm not a doctor so correct me if you are but it looked like the injury - him losing complete memory - was pretty exaggerated. But what happens next...LOL most of the times it was so ridiculous it almost made me laugh but WTF??!
So, she pretends to be his wife so she can visit him and then so he doesn't sue her - because, yes, amnesia hasn't changed the fact that Aden is an asshole. But then, instead of setting things straight, she keeps on feeding him lies and lies and lies and they're all more ridiculous and unbelievable than the other. They're so bad they made me feel sorry for Aden. He wakes up at the hospital not remembering who he is and how he came to be in an hospital bed and then, the woman who's supposed to be his wife tells him that he has a limp dick, that's why they don't have sex, he snores so loud he wakes up their son, that's why he sleeps in one of the motel's room, she does all the hard work while he stands there and does nothing to help around the place, they don't have rings because he said that they didn't need wedding rings... WTH??? There's bad liars and then there's stupid.
And that goes on for 2 MONTHS!! TWO MONTHS during which she lies and lies and lies about everything and keep on finding excuses - he's been so nice this week, I don't want to lose him, we're falling in love, my son is getting attached to him (her son calls him "daddy" btw)... - As things were going on, I just couldn't see how they could end up together. It's truly the first time I'm reading a book and I feel like one of the MC truly did something unforgivable. When the book started, as if it was the first time that poor baby was meeting a man, Hope's son called Aden "daddy" and he accused her of trying to trap him into being her son's baby. She said something like "I don't need any man to help me raise my baby with me and even if I did, you're the last one I would pick" but then, she goes and does exactly that.
And guess what? At the end, after he found out the truth and called her a bitch, a cunt and every nasty word you can call a woman, he forgives her. Because he learns she's pregnant. Just like that. She comes to him, says blah blah blah and then he's like "move in with me". WTH?!
I'm giving this book 1 star because I can't give less than that.

In Too Deep is the first book I read from the author Jordan Marie. Weeks ago when I first got offered this book to review I was assuming it was a standalone or at least the first I a series. While the first assumption was right – it IS indeed a standalone, the second is not correct as it is the second book in “Doing Bad Things” which kind of is sad – as I would have loved to read the first book where I spoilered myself the ending now.
Anyway it IS readable as a standalone and I am super sorry but this review will not go over with at least some hints at spoilers sooo…… careful please
As for my thoughts and rating s on this book … I am at a loss honestly. I loved this book until I reached the 98% mark of the book and this is honestly something that never happened before in all my years of reviewing.
While the reader gets thrown directly into a setting I felt still felt like I had already met the leading characters. And I really liked them. As the story is told from both points of view the reader gets to understand the thoughts of each character at the moment something happens. Which is great as there is a lot going on.
The leads are harsh and really leave no opportunity out to hit each other with words where it hurts the most. So the road this story takes might seem brutal at first but when you follow the story you honestly reach a point where you think “OK I get it” – at least for a while…. Then Hope starts to get trapped in her net of lies which was a point where my opinion got divided … I could understand some of her lies as they came from the situation and were necessary to keep up the charade… then there were a few that felt like she wanted to get back at Aden and yeah he kind of deserved them at least that was the first thing I thought…. Then I felt they made no sense as getting back at him when he had no idea what he did made no sense… and that brought me to the lies that where over the top and I felt the author should have been more careful
I loved their sparring and banter but I felt sorry for Aden as he was at a disadvantage for a long time in this story Oh and before I forget … I went forward and backward but where is Hope diving into the pool to save him from drowning as it is mentioned in the Blurb ?
Sorry where was I … Ahm yeah the disadvantage … I get that Hope reaches a point in her carefully construction of lies where she cannot find any outcome that will not result in a disaster. I get her reasons really I DO … and I started to develop the feelings I need to give a book 5 stars they were all there when IT happened… the moment where I felt the author rushed to the end.
At first it started with the inevitable blow – I mean lets face it – no spoiler here that story has to blow up in some way. The way it was handled here felt like a comedy setting of the 80s (or maybe the final scene in Notting Hill when all the people pile in that car to get to the press conference) – there were suddenly people present that made no sense for the story and it felt like an overkill.
But hey I dealt with it – because the story was good so far…
Which brings me to the 98% mark … for all the disadvantages that Aden suffered he deserved a little something here and what the reader got here felt not enough. Sorry maybe I am selfish and greedy . But I felt to much for the characters and the situation needed a moment to develop and not be handled within the span of the time it took here (sorry being vague) – it was to fast and rushed and I am talking ONLY about Aden’s part in it. I liked what he did and how but not the speed …
So yes I loved the book but unfortunately this is the first book ever to loose its 5th star 2% before it ended.
I am pretty sure the people will love this book and it kind of deserved 5 stars honestly but I am disappointed for Aden so I will deny this star.
Wow. So....I'm torn. I was really excited to read this book. And I blew right through it. But here's where I'm torn...it was really good. I laughed almost all the way through it. It was awesome but that beginning...wowza. Aden was an asshole. And I don't say that lightly. He was...awful. Like truly horrible. The things he said to Hope. Dang. I honestly wasn't sure if I would ever come to like him. He just made it so dang hard! (that's what she said! ;) Sorry, I couldn't resist).... Anyway....I really wasn't sure if I could ever like him. But the author was able to turn me around on him. Once he lost his memory, I came to like him. But you KNOW that he's going to remember and I was dreading that moment. I knew it was going to be bad...and it was. I felt so bad for Hope.
I wasn't quite down with the ending. I wasn't sure just why Aden changed his tune. I mean, we never saw the letter or papers that Hope gave him and we didn't find out why he went after her. So, I was left scratching my head a little.
Honestly, the book had a lot of five star moments. I was literally laughing out loud. The only reason I didn't give this five stars was because of how awful Aden treated Hope. Maybe if he had apologized or worked to get her back or something to make it better...maybe that would have helped. And yes, what she did was wrong, but she panicked and then didn't want to lose him. It doesn't make it right, but she never treated him as badly as he treated her.
I really enjoyed this one! What I liked about it is how Hope and Aden can't stand each other. Aden is a movie star and feels since he has fame and money that he can make any demands and the little people need to make it happen without question. When he shows up he doesn't care that he's a week early and he demands that she gives him a room right at that moment. He just acts like he is entitled to do this. He acts and is the definition of a hate filled ass. Hope gives in and gives him a room and then it starts, it happens and the story really begins. Things change and accidents happen and someone really falls...lies begin and the story changes...
I’m not a bad person, I swear. I just made a few mistakes.
Mistake number one was agreeing to rent my hotel out to an insufferable a**hole, named Aden Smith¬.
Mistake number two was ignoring his threats to sue me when he handed over a list of items he deemed “unacceptable”.
Mistake number three was diving into the pool to save his life when he fell. It would have been less complicated to hide his body.
When the hospital refuses to let me know how he is, I panic.
Claiming to be his wife might be my biggest mistake yet—especially when he believes me!
He might have been the one drowning, but I’m sinking in a bed of lies, going down fast—and there’s not a rescue in sight.

REVIEW: 3 stars--IN TOO DEEP is the second installment in Jordan Marie’s contemporary, adult DOING BAD THINGS erotic, romance series. This is forty year old Hollywood movie star Aden McIntyre, and twenty six year old single mom / motel owner Hope Lucas. IN TOO DEEP can be read as a stand alone story without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary. Aden McIntyre is connected to our story line heroine through her cousin White, and his friend Gavin O’Leary (GOING DOWN HARD #1).
Told from dual first person perspectives (Hope and Aden) IN TOO DEEP follows the acrimonious relationship built upon the ongoing lies between Hollywood actor Aden McIntyre, and single mom/motel owner Hope Lucas. Aden McIntyre is tired of the Hollywood scene and the fame-hungry starlets when he walks away from his latest picture deal into the anonymity of Clancy, Idaho, population six hundred. With a recommendation from Gavin’s friend White, Aden heads to the Hard Acres Motel where his life will take an unexpected and disastrous turn. Enter Hope Lucas, White’s cousin, and the woman with whom Aden will fall in love. What ensues is the building but deceptive relationship between Aden and Hope, and the fall out when the truth is finally revealed.
When Hope Lucas inherited the Hard Acres Motel in Clancy Idaho, our heroine had no idea the mess of which she was walking into. With renovations only partially complete, and no readily available cash to continue the work, Hope considers walking way until her ‘first’ customer arrives two weeks early demanding a room, and a place to stay. Aden McIntyre wants nothing to do with Hope Lucas, and her run-down motel but our hero is desperate to escape, and pushes our heroine into a two week deal. The back and forth, excessively angry confrontations, name calling, and bitter feud will end when Aden lands in the hospital without any memory of past. A small lie will snowball into the scam of the century as Hope claims to be Aden’s wife, and immediately begins to turn Aden’s life into a comedy of errors as the lies continue to build-one after another.
IN TOO DEEP is a story of deception; of one woman’s desperate need to feel wanted; and one man’s desire to escape the world from which he belonged. The believability aspect to the story line is limited; I had a difficult time with the continuous, ongoing, over the top lies and fabrications that snowballed into an unimaginable and preposterous backstory for one man whose memories were wiped clean by a pool side accident. Not withstanding the couple’s original acrimonious and hate filled, rude and crude introduction, the lies spewed and fabricated history by our story line heroine is questionable on so many levels. In the end my sympathies leaned towards Aden McIntyre as Hope Lucas continued the ruse for weeks.
On one level the story line could have been a great romantic comedy but the couple’s introduction and their original treatment of one another revealed a distasteful and offensive side to each of the story line characters; the language was cutting, meant to hurt and inflict damage-the use of a certain four-letter word is caustic. The premise is engaging; the characters are impulsive and spirited; the romance is heartbreaking-forged by deception and lies.
I am probably in the minority with my review ;I wanted to accept the circumstances presented but the believability was lacking on so many levels. I need to be pulled into a story that resonates with my emotions but I could not get past Hope and Aden’s original treatment of one another, and the heroine’s ongoing deception and bizarre tale of lies.
I was definitely looking forward to know Aden and knowing his story after meeting him in bk one Going Down Hard. He is one of Gavin’s best friends and something about him just called to me, even though he sort of acted like a jerk and I mean he was a huge jerk. Aden is a movie star and because he is famous, and has money thinks he is so important and better than everyone else or that is the act he puts on. He leaves the Hollywood scene to escape to a small southern town... at a small hotel which is owned by his friend's cousin, Hope Lucas who is a single Mom. He, for some reason, takes all his pain and anger and hurt he has suffered from the women in his life and transfers that onto Hope. In return, Hope transfers her pain and anger from a past relationship onto Aden . It’s a vicious circle and really sort of sad until Aden has an accident. Hope did something which caused her to dig herself into a debt of lies when it comes to Aden and its going to come back and bite her. There are some super funny moments between Aden and Hope but more importantly there are some tender and steamy moments between Hope and Aden. Hope found herself praying Aden never found out about her lies for she never wanted the good times, the happy times to end. For Hope, this was the Happiest she had been in like, ever and Aden, he seemed lighter and happier than he seemed when she first met him. Will they make it once the truth comes out? Or will angry, angsty Aden take over and ruin his happiness and Hope’s? I loved this book, the main characters had some much emotions and the passions were thru the roof. I also enjoyed the secondary characters in the story, like Hope’s son and her aunt. It looks like the next book in this series , Taking It Slow, with Titan and Faith will be the next one out. I am super excited. I love all the characters being introduced and their stories are insanely good.
My Rating: 4.6 stars ***** "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***
Wow I really enjoyed In too Deep I'm such a huge fan of Jordan Marie this has got to be by far one of my favorites by her . This would be the second story in the Doing bad things series and I haven't read Going down hard but I'm currently reading it now and if you to have not read it's free so get it while you can . In too deep in a way reminded me of one of my favorite movies Overbored it's funny , sexy ,with likable characters , and great story line that will keep you hooked till the very end . Aden and Hope both have something going on in there lives and once they are brought together lets just say it wasn't a pleasant meeting . I really disliked Aden he is such a D bag but he grew on me as the story progressed after his fall he became a more caring person the man he was meant to be , loved the little things the heroine would come up to freak him out totally laugh out loud moments . Now Hope I liked it's understandable why she did what she did , she's an amazing mother to an adorable little boy and respected her determination to build the motel make it hers to thrive . As much as Hope and Aden hate one another these two can burn up the pages the sex scene are really steamy and they get you in the mood witch isn't a surprise because the author knows how to write a sex scene . I can't wait to read more by this author especially the next book in the series we get a little tease at that end so I'm excited . copy provided for honest review **************************************** hero=9 heroine=10 secondary characters=10 Chemistry=10 steam=9 romance=7 humor=7 darkness level=4 action=3 mystery=3 enjoyment=10 angst=4 story line=10 Story ending=10 character development=10 pacing=10 Plot=10 cover=10 stars=5 author=10 would I recommend this book=yes would I re read this book=yes would I read future books by this author= yes
Jordan’s ability to make a reader laugh out loud shines here with every page.
Aden. Movie star, bad boy, just wants to escape. His last movie tanked and he’s not invested in the new movie he’s about to shoot. He’s over it, the whole scene. So taking his friend Whites suggestion of hiding out in Clancy Idaho at his cousin Hopes motel seems pretty damn good.
Hope. Single mom to Jack is struggling. Getting her motel up to code with limited funds she’s at her breaking point. With no more money and little time left she’s not sure what she’s going to do.
When Aden arrives earlier than expected with a bad attitude and a whole lot of anger he lashes out at Hope. What’s a single mom to do when money is thrown at her. Even though she’s not open for business she takes Aden up on his offer and let’s him stay.
From here it’s a complete laugh out loud comedy.
When Aden is hurt and loses his memory Hope has no choice but to tell a lie. But saying your married to someone turns out to be a whole lot more than she bargained for. That lie, escalates to become bigger and bigger.
But what neither of them expected was to fall in love.
Can two people who have been hurt in the past make their way past the lies and find their way back to each other?
Ida Sue in all her glory (I want my own Ida Sue) makes an appearance and she does not disappoint. Jordan has a winner here. I could not put down even though she had me wince with each new lie she cane up you can’t help but fall in love with Hope.
Be prepared for laughter. Love and a whole lot of steamy sexual chemistry. Did I mention it was hot? Get ready for Aden and Hope.

I loved the first book in the series and second one isn't far behind. That was one wild, hilarious and sometimes frustrating ride.
I had love hate relationship with Aden. From the first page of him, he was a dick. There's no going around it. I wanted to whack over that stupid head of his so many times! The smaller one too. ;) He was just so... But then when accident happened and his guard were down... It was like I'm seeing another man. A man that did won me over. I just wish I could seen more of that side of his, when Aden got his memories back.
And Hope.... You can say I had love/hate relationship with her too. Or it was more like laughing so hard you are crying because of her to having tears but that time because you are frustrated with her. I really loved crazy shit coming from Hopes mouth. How the heck she come up with them out of the blue, I'm still wondering. Honestly, on those occasions I wasn't sure to feel sorry for Aiden or just say 'Karma is a bitch, dude!' Lol But Hope drove me crazy, and not in the good way, with her bypassing 'come clean' moment. She would give a weak try, but she never really tried that hard. Because at the end Hope wanted another minute of being near Aden and in his arms. Ignoring tomorrow.
One of the best things was Lucas family. I love to see at least a glimpse of them. Love that crazy colourful family. And I adore Ida Sue. That woman....
Why did I even bother to finish this one? Well, I hate to DNF for starters. Also, the writing itself wasn‘t even half bad. Unfortunately that‘s the only positive thing I can say about it.
The story starts out good enough. The heroine loses her job, inherits a run down motel across the country, packs her son and all of her belongings and moves to that small town. At the same time the hero gets sick of his live as a movie star and is looking for a break. It just so happens that he is good friends with Hopes (the heroine) cousin, who books him into her motel. To say that Aden is huge dick would be an understatement. There is nothing remotely cute or sexy about his assholelishness.
Hope and Aden don’t have the best of start as they butt heads at every turn. I liked how it was not insta-love but at the same time Aden said too many purposely hurtful things and blamed it on his attraction to Hope („he is only being mean because he likes you“ *insert major eye rolling)
After an accident leaves him with no memory of his former life, Hope tells him they are married. She is worried he might sue her. At first it was quite funny. Aden deserved most of the sh*t Hope told him about their supposed life together. Too bad it got old really quickly. Hope has built and held on a web of lies for two fricking months all while claiming she was desperately in love with Aden (he was just being oh so sweet, I can’t lose him, yada, yada, yada). Honey, that’s not love. That’s called being immature and fricking selfish!
And after all her lies came to light, she had the nerve to throw herself a damn pity party. Like she was victim in this situation.
She also cut off her only friend for exposing her 2year old son to potential hurt. I‘m sorry but did you conveniently forget the part where you let a man believe he had a son and let them get attached to eachother? Must be nice to have your own version of truth and reality.
The conclusion is not worth mentioning. She shows up, blames it all on her parents and former relationships, gives him a letter and just like that she is forgiven. How damn perfekt (*insert eye rolling*)
That’s the second novel I read from this author and I think I‘m done for good.
It breaks my heart to give a Jordan Marie book 1 star, but if I could give it less I would! I forced myself to continue ready in the hopes I'd somehow find redeeming qualities to these characters and story. Tragically I did not! I stopped reading at 39% because I just couldn't go on. Both the MC's where terrible, neither had a redeeming quality, both imo were horrid people! Aden was an @$$h0l€, Hope was a big fat liar, the storyline... just sad!! I had high expectations bc I adore this author! Her Lucas Brothers books were all at least 4 star reads, they made me laugh, immersed me in the storylines and kept me reading each new book. However this book seems to have been written by a completely different author. Public service announcement.....skip this book read books one and three in this series or pick up the Lucas Brothers books!!
What. An. A$$hole! Even in the end he was an asshole. And a big one at that. At first the book was four stars for me .But the end...yeah, one star.He didn't redeemed himself in my eyes. Safe read.No cheating.

Fact. I adore everything Jordan Marie writes. So when I read the blurb for her brand new rom-com (Doing Bad Things, book 2), about a harried single mom who butts heads with insufferable Hollywood actor, Aden McIntyre, and then gets IN TOO DEEP with a web of lies, I knew I was gonna be in for quite a treat!
And what a DELICIOUSLY TASTY morsel it was!! This steamy, LOL funny Enemies to Lovers tale with a mighty huge twist was absolutely scrumptious!!!!!!! I was hooked from page one, laughed till I cried, got giddy butterflies throughout and truly never wanted this UTTERLY DELIGHTFUL book to end!!!!
I have a weakness for arrogant, grouchy bad boy heroes --Jordan Marie pens them so remarkably well--and when said a**hole is paired up with a feisty, slightly snarky, but utterly endearing heroine it’s a recipe for pure delish!!!! There are venomous sparks and hot and steamy times and hysterically funny moments galore, but the beauty of this author’s writing is that no matter whether she writes a dark gritty mc or a light and frothy romantic comedy, she ALWAYS hits you hard in the feels too!!
At first there is NO love lost between nemeses Aden and Hope—“We hate each other with the blistering passion of a million fire ants biting white flesh in the hot sun”— but of course over time that hate changes into sizzling lust and then of course the SURPRISING LOVE OF A LIFETIME!
I just relished the combustible chemistry between this fiery duo, and the manner in which this romance unfolds is equal parts hysterical and heartwarming!! Aden, a jaded, burnt out, FOUL-TEMPERED film actor whose career is on the downslide and who finds himself holed up in the dumpy little rural town of Clancy Idaho, hoping to regroup and escape the limelight, comes off as a CLASS A JERK for the first third of the book —and I am NOT sugarcoating that! At first, he is so mean and hateful and crude to Hope Lucas, the beleaguered owner of the Hard Acre Motel who he has strong armed into renting him a room for a two weeks, you will want to knee him in the nuts! I know I sure did. OMFG…some of the vile things he spews to poor sweet Hope were absolutely appalling!
But before you get your panties in a twist, I PROMISE you that as much as you revile Aden in the beginning, you will end up loving him even more!! On the outside he is the quintessential narcissistic Hollywood heartthrob who thinks the world revolves around him and lashes out at anyone—namely, Hope—who ticks him off, but his bad behavior stems from heartful of hurt. I love how as the author starts to slowly peel away his hard outer layers, we get to see that there is much more to this jaded jerk than meets the eye. And when a catastrophic turn of events turns his life UPSIDE DOWN, we see an….er… ENTIRELY DIFFERENT side to him. A thoughtful, chivalrous, romantic and charming side that has my heart go pitter patter and leaves me all googly eyed!
Hope is sweet and sassy, adorably down to earth, and incredibly sympathetic and relatable. And best of all? An AMAZING mom!! My heart just melted at her fierce devotion toward little Jack. I appreciated how strong and gutsy and DRIVEN she was too. She has sunk every bit of money her Aunt Edna left her, plus her meager savings, into this dump of a motel she inherited and desperately wants to make a go of it to provide a good life for her son.
But then complete and utter chaos ensues when in charges the most ornery, drop dead gorgeous jerk on the planet who tries to sabotage her plans…and run roughshod over her heart! I like how even though she is wildly attracted to Aden, she gives as good as she gets and does not take ANY of his bs. And yeah, so maybe she goes to EXTREMES to make sure Aden does not destroy her dream to pave a good life for herself and her little boy, but who can really blame her?
The pacing of the romance was just right--and I think the author struck the perfect balance of humor and heart in this book. Even though the relationship with Aden starts off volatile and acrimonious, and there are lots of emotional landmines to wade through--including a WHOPPER of a deception that snowballs out of control--the tenderness, passion and genuine raw emotions between this duo always shines through! I particularly loved the verbal sparring, which led to some mighty big belly laughs. AndI couldn’t stop smiling through the brilliantly plotted comedy of errors...which gets funnier with each outrageous new lie that the heroine spins.
There are also a plethora swoony feels, sweet tenderness, FILTHY HOT action between the sheets and witty acerbic charm! I also got a kick out of all the supporting characters—that little stinker Jack was too cute for words, and Hope's big rambunctious family provided endless entertainment, particularly that rascally Aunt Ida Sue!
FINAL VERDICT: If you are looking for a steamy, lol funny, feel good rom-com, then IN TOO DEEP is guaranteed to hit your sweet spot!
I am probably the lone one here among everyone here. Everyone seems to like this book and series so I really wanted to give it a chance... I tried. Like really tried, but I honest can't find anything I like about this series.
So I hated the first book, I couldnt stand either of the main characters. However, I thought, ok maybe the first book was a fluke and the second one would be better written. And it was! I at least didn't feel like I was reading some bad fan fiction. It at least had better conversations between the characters.
But then you get into the third chapter... once again the hero doesn't fail to be the biggest asshole on the planet! I mean who comes to a motel 2 weeks ahead of their reservation and then gets fucken mad that the owner can't accommodate him? Aden's an ass to Hope for no reason at all! All because she initially refused to give him a room because her motel is still UNDER INSPECTION! Not to mention, Aden insults Hope time after time, to her face, behind her back, and in his own head. Apparently, SHE'S the bitch for arguing with him and refusing him a room. Of course, he's the gentleman, you know, because he came in angry and demanding, and all but throws money at her. Oh wait, he did.
There was a part in the book that just made me go W.T.F. So Hope's son comes running out and mistakenly calls Aden, daddy. His response?
“Oh hell. Is this your game? You train your kid to call men Daddy hoping one of them finds it cute and falls into your web?”
🤯🤯🤯
What?! Where the hell did he even get that idea?! Nothing she has ever done or said even came close to her trying to manipulate him into a relationship!
I don't know why I continued reading at that point, but I did... what really blew my mind and made me drop this book was what happens next.
So I have asthma, I take medication for it. And not once has the medication made me hyper then crash... but apparently that's what it does to Hope and so she crashes on Aden's bed while changing his sheets. Whatever. But when Aden comes in completely drunk and think he's hallucinated Hope in his bed? That's when things get too much. He think he's conjured up Hope lying on his bed because he's sexually frustrated. He proceeds to watch her like a creep while stroking his dick! Then he lays down beside her and proceeds to, quite literally, rape her with his hands! I don't know if the author was intending for this scene to be sexy and hot, but a scene in which he touches her while she sleeps, without her permission, drunk or not, is sexual harrassment and so not sexy at all! This scene was definitely disturbing to say the least!
Oh then after he "rapes" her, his reaction in the morning is just fucken peachy.
“Answer me! What the fuck are you doing in my bed!?!?!”
Is this how you get your men, you crawl into their beds when they’re drunk and can’t remember what you are?”
“I already knew you were a bitch. I just didn’t know you were a conniving bitch! Though I should have! All women are!”
Going down hard was the first book I've ever read from this author and I DNF it. Thought I give her another chance so I started this book and I've got to say I definitely regret it. I will not be reading anything from her again.

This is my first read by Jordan Marie and I will definitely be looking up more. I like her writing style and found the book easy to read.
I don't think I have not liked a character so quickly in a book in all my time reading but Aden has seriously rubbed me the wrong way. It was apparent that he was going through some shit of his own, but there is no need to take that out on everyone around you. As the story progresses, I did slow start to change my mind on Aden. As he realizes that he wants to spend time with Hope and Jack. That he wants to the be right type of man for them both. Helping her out and making her life easier.
Hope is doing all that she can to make life work. It has not been easy by any means but there are things she wouldn't change for anything. Jack being the top thing on her list. Putting everything into the Motel that she has inherited to make it a home and life for her and Jack. If she can just get it up and running. When her first paying customer shows up early and is anything but the kind of guest she had expected, she might be over her head.
When things take an unexpected turn, Hope acts out of fear. She finds herself deep in a bed of lies, trying to save everything. But when emotions get in the way she has trouble coming clean. Will she be to tell the truth and keep the things that have quickly come very important in her heart? Will the lies mean she is left heartbroken again, trying to pick up the pieces.
The story was well written, I just didn't feel that connection I like to get with the characters. It was a quick fun read.

I have a complicated feeling about this book but I guess for the most part it was pretty much enjoyable. It was somewhat different from the plots that I used to read and I think it deserved at least 3 stars because I kind of like Hope and Aden.
So long story short, Aden who is a famous actor when into hiding at a motel newly owned by Hope. There was no love at the first sight for the pair with Aden being such an asshole to Hope but somehow Aden lost his memory and Hope lies that they are married without actually knew who Aden really is. And the the story goes on with this and that, and finally they get their HEA.
What really irked me is that Hope keeps on telling that she will reveal the whole truth to Aden and every single time I wished she did, but frustratingly she didn't. I mean, I get why she lied at the first place but for a period of around two months? Come on! To make matter worst, Aden believed everything she said and he felt really bad that he was such a bad husband and daddy to the family. I can't help feeling bad for him for feeling that way no matter how much of an asshole he was before.
What I like about the story is how you get to see the glimmer of the nice person underneath the asshole Aden before he lost his memory but he didn't really get to show it perhaps because he wanted to protect himself from being hurt or because the industry he was in had makes him sort of jaded. And then when he lost his memory, he was so sweet, kind and thoughtful to Hope and I see a totally different side of him.
All in all, I think the book is pretty much okay if you're looking for something to read in your free time. And perhaps you might find it more enjoyable than me because different people have different taste and opinion.
A ludicrous Tug-of-War between two extremely head strong people! It seems certain people need a blow to the head to set their brain in the right direction...literally! Aden is a first class A-hole in the way he treats women... his past has proven to him that all they want is to suck the life out of him... well, out of his pockets anyway. He eludes the Hollywood scene to escape his reality in a small southern town... at a small hotel which is owned by his friend's cousin, Hope. All the hurt he had suffered from the women in his life he unfairly transferred to her... and in return she to him. Things get pretty messed up and twisted after Aden's accident...will they work things out or will continue to tear each other apart? A hilarious RomCom that will have you rolling on the floor. Aden and Hope are a massive force ...an amusing tug of war... makes you wonder how far they will go with their shenanigans! 5 Laugh-Out-Loud Stars for "In Too Deep" a story which proves that when you love someone, the thought of losing them takes away all rationality!
First book I read by Jordan Marie, and I've already downloaded the next Kindle Unlimited option so hopefully she adds more soon. I enjoyed the story and although at times I felt H crossed major lines with things that were said I still felt their connection. I wanted a whole lot more major groveling from H at the end and that did take away from my rating so hopefully author takes note in the future to spend a little more time on the making up as I felt it was rushed through considerably as it is.
The relationship of the best friend of the heroine wasn't at all addressed so I'm assuming she will probably get her own book, not sure how I feel about that because i am not really interested in looking to see if she does have her own story or not in the series, so an update in the epilogue at least would have been nice.
Overall I enjoyed the Amnesia aspect as that is what I searched for in the sub categories search. Great writing and adorable dialogue from the child and several laugh out loud moments all around.
"Jordan Marie has done it again with another can't put it down read! Hope Lucas is a single Mom who has been left a dilapidated motel by her Aunt. She moves into the motel to run it and finds out it needs a lot of repairs to even be able to open. She uses all her money and it still needs repairs.
Aden McIntyre is a movie star who just needs to get away and recover from the miserable failing of his last movie. He books into his friend, White's cousin's motel, which happens to be Hope.
When Aden arrives a week early, the motel isn't open yet and he and Hope get off on the wrong foot -hilarity ensues! This book was funny and it had moments that make you want to knock Hope and Aden's heads together. Read this book, I promise you will love it!"
This book was good. It was a sweet story. The characters were lovable and I loved the chemestry between Hope and Aden after the lie started!! The idea was good and you don't really see that coming by reading the blurb even if you can guess. The only thing that bothered me, it's the lie. In my opinion, it felt too big and latest too long. What I mean is, Hope could have just let the truth out so many times. And what about Aden's friends, 2 months before getting worried... he used to call Gavin and Casey but suddently nothing.... He didn't really bother with finding more about himself as well.. I know he believed Hope, but I don't know, something was off. The end was ok, I was waiting for more though.

Another amazing book from Jordan Marie! I loved Hope and Aden! They started off hating each other, but that hate turned into something more. As Hope dug herself deeper and deeper with her lies, she was fearful of Aden learning the truth, because she was finally happier than she'd been in a long time. There were many hilarious moments too, especially Doreen and Bonnie! What a great book! I had a hard time putting it down when it was time to be an adult. I can't wait to read more about this crazy family!
Who loves a good intense, enemies to lovers romance? This girl. Aden is the guy you hate to love, but can’t help wanting him. Hope is the girl I want as my best friend and want to help. When the two meet all kinds of sparks fly between Aden and Hope. I didn’t want it to end.
Aden is a self centered jerk. Hope is having a lot of hardship. She’s a single mother and running a motel. The motel isn’t finished but Aden needs a place to stay. They have flaws but they need to forgive each other. I loved this book!!
Ok I loveeee Jordan Marie , Every Book is amazing ,But This is Hands Down My Favorite. It is about this Mean Rich Actor that is hiding out in a small town . He is being so mean to the Curvy Single Mom that owns The Motel. They keep fighting and it is so funny. Then he falls and gets amnesia. She pretends to be his wife and he does work in the Motel. She Keeps Lying and it is so funny, she keeps getting deeper and deeper with her lies. They start to fall in love and it is so good. I almost Did Not want him to get his memory back cause I wanted him to stay Poor and a Happy Family . He was not acting like some Rich Jerk . It reminds me of the movie Overboard with Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn in the 80s. It was so funny and hot. I Really Really loved this book.
Two factors knocked off two stars for me. #1 alpha hole OTT and #2 the h was OTT with her deceit. It was still a story I liked...except for that. I liked the first book better and will press on and read book three in the series.
This book had the humor of the Lucas series. I laughed several times at the "stories" that Hope told Aden after his accident and memory loss. I loved this book until the last confrontation between Hope and Aden where she was bearing her truths to him. How he handled it seemed odd. It was still good but it seemed weird to me considering how he was to her and to White.
The reactions Aden has to his situation are funny as hell, “hell woman, I’m sure a lot of men snore. It’s not a reason for a husband and wife to sleep in separate rooms.” His reactions I just can't get over them, “you’re twenty-six,” he repeats in a whisper. “You’re twenty-six and I’m fifty and you don’t see a problem with this?” he growls." Aden is just an entertaining man, “yeah, but I mind it. If I want to take my woman out, I shouldn’t have to make her drive. ****, I might as well just hand you my balls now.” I was in love with this book, it had me entertained and intrigued since page one.
