Once again Adam Croft has written another great novel, each and every book I read I genuinely do not think they can get any better but somehow they do. This book again like t he others was fast paced a real page turner and a rollercoaster of a case although I did not for one second expected lucus to end the way he did. Now I can't say what otherwise I will spoil the book so if you want to find out what I am on about I suggest you read this book, like all Adam Crofts books I highly recommend this one as with the others. Well here I go again I think this is the best book by far that Adam Croft as written but then I say that about all his books.there are some authors that you see have a new book out and you genuinely want that book you don't even bother looking at the write up about it, you just see its by a particular author and buy it. Well that's what I a Mike with Adam Crofts novels, because I know no matter what it's about that I will fully enjoy them also I am in for a very genuine good read. This book is is and has been one of my favourites and a definite recommendation to anyone who likes a good thriller. You will miss out if you do not read this book.
Such a magnificent book. Really enjoyed it. It even made me laugh. Just love Jack, he's brilliant and Wendy is great. Such a gripping ending with so many twists and turns. It's definitely my favourite so far. Just amazing.
Yet another brilliant book from Adam, once you start reading it's hard to put down, I've read all of the Knight & Culverhouse series, would definitely recommend them all.
Adam Croft does it again – this is yet another fantastic story in the Culverhouse and Knight series which I found hard to put down. The plot itself is intriguing from the start and the action never really stops. It only took me two days to read as one chapter lead me swiftly into another and I found myself completely swept up in the excitement. As always, it was an easy read with the familiar characters who seem to get on so well despite the normal bickering you would expect from a group of work colleagues. Naturally the story is not without the twists and turns which keep you guessing as to who the perpetrator could possibly be and the ending, although somewhat perilous, is satisfying and yet again leaves us wanting more.
I have always loved the Knight and Culverhouse series, but for me this one was a bit slow.
It starts with a known criminal, Freddie Galloway, dying at his home after trying to escape what seemed to be an arson attack on his home. It just so happens that the day this occurs on the day that John Lucas is released from an 11 year stretch from a robbery he did with Freddie, the difference being that Freddie got away.
Is this a case of revenge or is it a case that not all is as it seems.
This book had the same sense of humour and sarcasm from Knight and Culverhouse, it was just a bit slow moving for me. Looking forward to trying Dead And Buried.
I gave this book 5 stars as I have enjoyed the full seven books of this series, the relationship of two high ranking police officers is portrayed throughout the full series, while still introducing new characters. If you enjoy reading crime thrillers with twists, you'll enjoy this series. The reader feels they know Wendy Knight and Jack Culverhouse personally after reading first few books and with each new case your routing for them and devastated when things go wrong!
In this 7th book of the series, the shooter of a bungled armed robbery is released from prison after 11 years. He seeks revenge on Freddie Galloway. This night of his release, Freddie leaps to his death to escape the blazing fire of his country mansion. Arson is confirmed and the case is investigated deeply. Both investigators are shocked as to what they discover. The ending will surprise you, too. This is another great story written by Adam Croft. He knows how to satisfy his readers.
Adam has produced another great read. I really enjoy the two main characters in this series. Knight and Culverhouse make a great team that you never want to see an end. Book 7 really draws your attention and you will not be let down. But if you have not read the first six I would suggest you do that first. I just received an email today from Adam that he is working on book 8. I am sure it will be another exciting read.
Another enjoyable read from Adam Croft. He writes murder mysteries with characters who could live next door to you and plots that could actually happen. I didn't guess the reason for the first death.
Another trustworthy tale of the odd couple and what sounds like a terrible place to live. Had suspected the twist at the end as there were no other characters brought into the narrative.
A robbery gone bad, a policeman dead, a confusion of ideas. What will happen next? Will there be another death? Knight and Culverhouse have their most confusing case so far. Can you solve it?
I have read seven books in this series now, love the characters and the relationships they all have. Highly recommend especially whilst in lockdown.... now for book eight!
Another great story in this series. I find each book improves on its previous success. I sometimes think that it can’t get better than this but I’m always proved wrong.
Yet another great page turner from the brilliant author Adam Croft! Never ceases to amaze me how he comes up with the ideas for the great plots in his stories. Here's to the next one!
