What do you do when you hate your life and your joy is gone?
Never the sister with the best of luck, Luna Rockwell gave up on her own happiness a long time ago. She's lost herself in a never-ending cycle of work, in a career she’s come to loathe.
When a once in a lifetime opportunity comes along, on the second worst day of her life, it gives her a chance most women can only dream about. Searching for love in a new city, Luna finds herself in a love-triangle she never expected.
Will Luna find love once and for all, or is she destined to be the cat-lady aunt for the rest of her life?
Three times best selling author Dawn Robertson was born and raised in Connecticut before relocating to Florida in 2013. The same year first novel, Hers debuted as an Amazon Best Seller. Replicating that success with two additional novels in the following years.
The Indie publishing world has grown to love her raw writing style depicting strong women in real life situations, topping the charts in erotica, romance, and romance-suspense. Robertson has even insinuated that the female characters in her book mirror her real life. But, that I'll leave to speculation.
When Dawn Robertson is not writing she is a full-time Real Estate professional in Florida, and mother of three amazing children.
Falling Forward is a wonderful story of overcoming loss, finding love, self-discovery, and beating adversity. It is a story full of emotion and I loved reading Luna's journey as she finds her true self. What truly makes her happy. She's an amazing character I know you will love reading as much as I did!
What do you do if you hate your life where every day is the same full of noting but work no partner to share it with.
That’s the Luna we meet at the start of the book, she needs something to happen to shake her out of her humdrum life and it does in a big way.
Reading this book takes you on a journey with Luna as she discovers who she really is and a love that she never expected. You will laugh, you will cry but you will feel uplifted. I’ve missed reading this author’s work welcome back Dawn.
I have been waiting too long for another Dawn Robertson book! The wait was so worth it. This book is amazing and I felt it in every part of me. This story felt like the emotions were pushing out and ready to be opened and spilled. A little different from her other books but just as amazing, if not more so. Definitely not for everyone since it includes a polyamorous relationship. I personally loved that aspect in what is such a two dimensional world. Thank you Dawn!
If your looking for a read full of feels then you definitely should read this. This certainly is a one sitting kinda read.
The main character Luna Rockwell is very likeable and relatable. She’s a strong character and I admire how she overcame the obstacles that were thrown at her.
I love how Dawn portrays Savannah in the story. I now want to visit there. This really is an amazing read. I had so many feelings while reading it and had goosebumps reading parts of it.
I’m looking forward to reading more from this author.
Falling Forward is a tale of changing luck or even fate. Luna's life is depressing and it takes a strong wake up call to get her to find more.
Her more means big changes. Drastic options and a new outlook are key in this transformation. Apparently love is also an option. With everything changing, Luna needs to ground herself. how will she do it?
If you are looking for a book with all the feels...you have found it!! I was sad, happy, heartbroken and then happy again. Dawn has definitely hit it out of the park with this one.
I know I have put off this review for long enough. There have been a few times I have tried to write this review but putting all the feelings and emotions I felt while reading this book into words hasn't been the easiest for me. So here we go, Luna to me is like a phenix! She has some hard times at the beginning of this book and she raises from the ashes of the events to become stronger, actually this is true throughout the whole book. She is a character that you just have to admire and aspire to be like.
There are so many emotions to be felt in this book. You will laugh, smile, love, hate, and definitely cry! Tissues need to be at the ready! This type of book is the reason I started reading again. Dawn has been a favorite of mine since the release of Hers and even though she hasn't self published in awhile, she definitely has broke the mold with this book. This is a book that touches on real life situations. It will pull you in. It is a romance for the ages and will be a reread of mine for years to come. There is nothing better then living all the emotions of the characters within the pages of an epic story. You will lose yourself in this book. It's a story of self discovery and making your life yours once again after tragedy and heartbreak.
I can't wait to see what else she will bring to the table now that she has gotten her mofo back.
MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS - This is a unique, wonderful love story filled with death & life, love & pain. Luna needs a life change after the death of her parents & when she falls into a bit of money it gives her the opportunity to do whatever her heart desires to ease her grief. She allows her parent's memory to guide her to Savannah where she falls in love with the city, with a new gorgeous historic home, and with two men who change her life forever. My favorite sexual scene of all time was in this author's book Hers. Seven & her best friend fool around together with Seven's new love Levi & OMG, the hottest thing ever! I would have loved more of Hunter, Liam & Luna in bed together. It is a true love story even after tragedy strikes but we really only get two moments when they are all together - I would have loved more, more, more because like Luna, the visual of Hunter & Liam together is way hot! That wasn't the direction of the book though, it is completely about Luna's journey in life & how it lead her to a new life she loves with two men, her two sisters and three little ones. Luna even continues her mother's mission in life to support sexually troubled youth. She isn't alone anymore, filling her new house with lots of love & laughter! She doesn't know what tomorrow holds but tells her lovers, "I guess all we can really do is keep on falling forward. It's what the universe wants." I had to laugh when sister Lucy is confused about the two boyfriends. How does it work? Who is number one & number two? :) Fate isn't done with Luna & the ending brings heartache & more joy than they could ever imagine. Wonderful story that takes you on a journey to a cool city I'm dying to visit as well as a hot threesome love affair that I want more of!!
This was my first book by Dawn and, I have to say, she has a new fan.
I loved Luna and her tenacity to overcome the obstacles life has thrown her way. This story is one of family, loss, heartbreak, and realizing that love isn't societies definition, but embracing it anyway.
It's not your typical romance novel and that's exactly what I loved about it. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who may be stuck in a "romance genre" funk.
I don't finish books these days. Stories I've been reading haven't kept me engaged. Flat characters, redundant words, stale plots. But!! When I was given Falling Forward to read in exchange for a review, I have to admit...I was pleasantly surprised. I loved the MC, Luna. She definitely was a real life character, in my opinion. I'm not going to go into plot details, aside from the fact that it's definitely NOT stale. Dawn kept the story moving, and it was a satisfying HEA. Keep tissues close. Just sayin! GREAT JOB!! LOVED IT!!!
Where to start with this book? When there are typos on the first page, I’m already bracing myself for a bumpy ride. Unfortunately, with this book, the ride was so bumpy I about fell out of the damn car.
Poor storytelling, weak dialogue, shallow characterization, and HUNDREDS of editing/proofing errors made this a very difficult read for me. If I'm being honest, this book read like a rough draft. I have a hard time believing that there were any betas/editors/proofreaders. If there were, this author either needs to start listening to their feedback, or else fire the entire team and start over for the next book.
This story was a wreck pretty much from page one. We get forced family drama that just didn’t seem believable, and then Clearly, very little research went into this book.
When we get to the love interest(s), the eye-rolling really went into overdrive. The evolution of the menage/polyamorous relationship was just so “convenient.” It wasn’t believable; you don’t feel any connection with the “couple.” It honestly felt like the author wrote herself into her own fantasy. This particular plot device seems like it was just tossed in to make the story seem edgy when it really came across as sad and boring. I didn’t buy it. At all.
The big climax is where I really got irritated. The BIG EVENT happens,
And then the editing. DEAR GOD. This book is an English teacher’s nightmare. If I had a red pen, you wouldn’t have been able to see the words in this book through all of my corrections. Misused words, heinous crimes against punctuation, sentences without subjects and a complete lack of knowledge on how to correctly use apostrophes almost made my brain bleed. My error notes are in the hundreds. No joke.
Honestly, I feel like the author wrote a bunch of plot devices on post its and drew them out of a hat see which ones she would include in the book, scrambled some of the words, then shot about a billion commas and filter words out of a confetti cannon and hit publish.
Yes, I realize that I probably sound like a bitch, but I’ve got to call ‘em like I see ‘em.
A read about starting over and being who you are suppose to be. This truly was a heartfelt story. Loved it. Also it is available on kU where I got my copy from .
Falling forward was definitely an enjoyable read! A little bit different pace than what I am used to but overall I still really enjoyed this book! The beginning seemed to be a little slow and very depressing, so I was hoping for a happy turn around! I was happily surprised when things began looking up for Luna! Let me tell you I wish I was Luna! While being in the middle of heartache she is granted what most people want! Money….and lots of it! With her new life set out for her she can finally figure out where she belongs in life. When she crosses paths with Liam and Hunter, two complete hotties, her life couldn’t get much better! But just when you think everything is sunshine and roses, something has to be taken away. While Luna does everything she can to help her sister through her own set of problems, she is faced with even more death from someone she has fallen for. Not only is her heart broken once again, but now she has a whole new life to consider. Can she move on with Liam now that the unthinkable happened with Hunter? Will Luna still get the happy life she has always longed for?! I do have to say some parts of this story were very predictable but it still did not affect how much I enjoyed this book! A definite read if you want a down to earth read, with some laughs and some tears to go with it!
Dawn Robertson saved me from boredom. I live in Florida and we just had Hurricane Irma come and rip through our state. Since everyone was pretty much on lockdown it was either watch constant Irma news or read. Dawn was kind enough to reach out to some of us Florida people and offer us an ARC of her new book, Falling Forward. I was so grateful to have something new to read and something to do that I read it right away. I loved it so much I sat and read it until I was done. This is definitely a one sitting book.
This was my favorite Dawn Robertson book I’ve read so far. I really enjoyed this book. I loved that it was a different kind of love story. So. if you love love, and aren’t judgmental in what shape or form that love takes, this is the story for you. I adored all of the characters in this book, and the background city that it is set in, Savannah, Georgia. Luna is someone who has been through so much but still is able to grab love when it comes her way and really learns to enjoy her life. I don’t want to give away too much in my review but one thing I’ll say is, the only complaint I have is that I wanted more. As a matter of fact I loved these characters so much, all I hope for is that there is another book with these characters coming to us soon.
Dawn Robertson is back and better than ever with her newest book, Falling Forward. After an extended absence from solo writing it's a pleasure to see her writing talent shining through in this story of love and loss.
Luna is a strong character, although she can be a bit brash, she's honest and real throughout the book. Honestly, if fate stepped in would you take the chance or stay stuck where you're at? I like that she took the chance and jumped with both feet. Both male characters are remarkable and I think that Dawn did a great job creating this poly-relationship.
There is a string of truth and hurt in Luna's journey, alongside realistic events that make Falling Forward easy to devour and hard to forget.
Where to begin with this book. I loved everything about it, Dawn has outdone herself with Falling Forward. I absolutely fell in love with the characters as I laughed and cried with them. This is a romance but it's REAL, I believe just about anyone can relate to something in this book. The fact that it touches on so many "taboo" subjects that shouldn't be taboo is great. It's a modern, heartbreaking, heartwarming, laugh out loud, "this is so me" type of book. I would recommend this book to all of my friends....and we'll anyone I come into contact with really. Thank you Dawn for sharing Luna and her life with us.
Serendipity, fate, karma, destiny. Strong words with similar uses, even so in the way life takes it and well, stuff happens. For Luna stuff happened. He life was altered by a single moment in time, a choice made, a path chosen. A beautiful story nothing like what I imagined but oh a great surprise. This author weaves a great tale with some very unexpected yet nice surprises. Love, family, opportunities, life, yup it all happens, this author shows us that is true.
Great characters and a good story with some fun, exploration in many ways and just some good reading. This author is new to me and man what a pleasure it was in deed.
well shit. Thanks for the tears and laughs Ms. Robertson, it's been a while. Per usual I was hooked from the intro. Also, per usual, many things I can relate to. Which I find awesome because I know many times you put a little of yourself into the characters and I wonder what it is we may have in common. xoxoxoxo keep up the good work!
This is my first book by Dawn Robertson, but I can tell you it won't be my last! This was a great story! I loved Luna! It wasn't a 'typical' romance story, but it was so much more and I loved that about this story. Five Big Stars for this one!
Let me start off by saying I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!! In this story you go through so many emotions. You are happy, excited, sad and crying. As you read the book you know there is so much of Dawn in this book. I can't tell you how much I love these characters. Luna, Laim, and Hunter are so great together. The back drop for this story is Savannah, Ga. I have been there a lot but now can't want to go back. This is such a great love story
Dawn pens out one of best to date! When Luna experiences tragedy, she's ready to start over. Dawn takes us on this beautiful journey. Luna is one of the most relatable characters, through heartache, laughter & love you find yourself captivated by this story. The details Dawn writes about makes you feel like your really in Savannah. The setting is perfect, you will be looking to book a trip, asap! You will laugh, cry, swoon, most of all you will FEEL. But in true Dawn fashion there is great love scenes....a little MMF with a whole lot of WOW! It just does not get better than this! 5++ stars for this one!
This book was so cute. I loved every minute of it. Even the sad parts. I wanted to laugh, cry, and just keep reading. Falling Forward is an absolute must read!
This story was so not predicable. Thought I new what would happen nope, didn’t want to put down so I could see what would happen. Authors characters were really well written. Will be looking up other books by this author.
When life hands Luna Rockwell some sour lemons, she makes lemonade. Following a tragedy, she unexpectedly comes into a large sum of money and decides to leave sunny Florida for Savannah, Georgia, where she meets Liam. Quickly falling for Liam but not being in an explicit relationship with him, she meets Hunter, who wants to take her to a Coldplay concert. Come to find out, Liam and Hunter and friends. Actually, they’re more than friends. They’ve shared women before and they want to share Luna, who has never been in a polyamorous relationship before. Things are going extremely well, almost too well, when tragedy once again befalls Luna Rockwell. Will she be able to survive yet another hurdle in the life that she was trying to start over?
I have been struggling to write this review. It was a good book, with a good storyline, but I wasn’t emotionally invested in these characters. I mean, I wanted the best for them. I wanted a happy ending, but what I guess I’m trying to say is that this book wasn’t life changing. I love Dawn Robertson. I’ve read her in the past and was very excited for her to publish another book. She’s a fantastic writer and I know that this particular story was based quite a bit on her own life. If you follow her on Facebook, you’ll notice a lot of similarities to Dawn’s life and the lives of these fictional characters. That made it really fun to read. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to bash this book. I always struggle writing reviews lower than four stars because I don’t want the author to hate me. I also am always afraid that something I say may get taken the wrong way, and I don’t want that. To me, this book just was different than things that she’s written in the past. Maybe it has been because since I’ve read and reviewed her other books, which I probably rated five stars, I’ve figured out what a real five-star book is like. Again, it had a great story line. The characters were awesome. I loved Liam! I think the conflict is very realistic and the tragedy at the end had me sad, but I didn’t cry. I felt that almost the entire book was rushed, especially when they all three have sex for the first time. I could have benefited from a longer, more descriptive scene. I enjoyed that this book was “fresh”, i.e., you hardly read about polyamorous relationships. Also, Dawn Robertson must have frequented Savannah, Georgia, because she was very descriptive of the places around the city. That is one thing that she did very well. I never struggled to picture where the characters were at. For me, this book was three and a half stars.
After reading the blurb of this book I knew that I wanted to read it all because sometimes I feel like the main character. There are times that we want to give up but something keeps pulling us in. I've heard wonders about this author and I needed to see for myself so I just dig into Dawn Robertson's world and Jesus... Her writing is intense, raw, heartfelt and so real. The way she approaches each subject captures us in a sec. Falling Forward is her latest release and tells Luna's life. Luna hates her life. She's fed up of everyone and everything from her job to her friends and family. She just wants to get away. When an opportunity arouse she needs to take that chance. Like I said in the beginning I really identify myself with Luna. I think we all will because what happened to her could have happened to anyone. I was given a huge headache because I just felt every word, every emotion, every joy. It's was a rollercoaster of emotions and feelings and my heart wasn't bigger enough. I'm overwhelmed with this book and I'm so glad I took the chance. Dawn you are amazing and I can't get enough words to praise you. What a book...
While I have loved pretty much every book Dawn Robertson has written, this one kind of fell flat for me. I didn't connect with the heroine at all, and the constant change of tenses within the author's writing had me re-reading to make sense of it all.
This story was a sweet one though. Some would consider it sad, but since I couldn't connect from the beginning, I didn't feel it. *sigh*
There are also subtle pushes in religion, politics, and other sensitive issues that may be triggers for some readers. Personally, again, I felt nothing. And I really wanted to. I wanted to love it...really, I did. Sometimes, things just don't pan out that way.
So addicting, loved this story! When I started reading Falling Forward I was immediately sucked into the story, I didn't want to put the book down. Which is rare because it's been hard for me to read lately. Dawn's words were well written and had me laughing and smiling throughout the book but also sad at parts. I loved Luna Rockwell. I can relate to her which made this read even better for me.
