As Thanoth (haha, cant't get over the name) grows closer and closer to uncovering who were the ones responsible in the imperial treasure theft, Vader manages to cover his tracks, one force manipulation at a time.
I'm entertained to see an underdog Vader. But I don't know, Vader could have just killed Thanoth and nobody would know that it was him who killed the investigator. But you see, Vader calculates his moves more carefully, knowing that the Empire eyes whatever he is doing.
I just wish this arc would be finished. I don't like the feeling that Vader's movements are shackled.
Dr. Arhpa travels to meet with an information broker who has knowledge not only of Skywalker's identity but also where he can be located. Unfortunately, Inspector Thanatos has found the same broker. The broker knows who stole the Imperial Credits from the cruiser. Vader must find and locate Arhpa before the Inspector.
This great series hasn't missed a beat yet. Superb art, mordant humor, and a great plot keep things humming. So far I must also mention that each of the covers have been gorgeous. A great Star Wars series, hats off to Kieron Gillen for crafting a great tale.
Aphra gains Luke's location from The Ante, which I am sure we will see in the next issue of Jason Aaron's Star Wars. After she gives him some of the Son-Tuul Pride's fortune, he willingly sells her out to the Imperials. But Vader amusingly uses the Force to guide him to a blaster bolt so that he can say no more. Vader catches up to Aphra and nearly chokes her to death, but lets her live since she possesses the information about Luke's wherabouts. I like that she is smart enough not to say anything right away. She tries to escape, but Thanoth, also smart, has set up a blockade. I can only imagine how Vader will interrogate her in the next issue. My only problem is that we do not get to see Triple Zero shake hands with the holochess player so that he can shock him to death, but it was great seeing BT-1 use something resembling a machine gun.

Calculating Vader is a lot of fun as he has to think on the fly to block his new adjutant from discovering who really was behind the theft of Imperial credits.
Yesterday was hell for me, I read 190 pages, but all I wanted was sleep. I said in a review I was tired at 8 PM and couldn't sleep until 4 AM. This was the last thing I read before sleep, between my attempts at falling asleep, I kept reading the novel or comics, but nothing could bore me enough to sleep it seemed xD Pretty good story, crazy how Darth Vader turned on Aphra, glad she had a trump card under her sleeve. More people keep falling to Darth Vader's power, just so he can hide his betrayal. Is it betrayal though? or does he just want to get to Luke Skywalker first? So yeah, the first volume of this graphic novel collection seems to be coming to a close. But I am not really planning on finishing it soon, since I am busy with House of M. But I'll eventually get to it.
A sus pies, Gillen, Larroca y Delgado. Menuda maravilla. Traiciones, manipulaciones, asesinatos. Una maravilla del entretenimiento. Hay cómics mejores, pero la puntuación aquí no refleja tanto su calidad como lo bien que me lo paso, y este trío, en esto, son unos auténticos maestros.
A great comic that puts into view the problems Vader has with having Doctor Aphra as a servant/worker. It also shows how smart some Imperial masterminds can be.
Aphra meets with an information broker to find out where Luke is hiding out, but Thanoth has discovered the same source might help him find the thieves he's looking for. Vader has to play one against the other to keep the Empire at bay and his own concerns moving forward.
This is really a great issue of balance and machination. Vader plays this like a game of holochess - and we see enough references to that in this arc. So far Vader has held his hand, but either or both Thanoth and Aphra might end up dead before things are all said and done here!
The droids continue to provide some humor to break up the tension in this series, which is a very welcome addition to the book. They are more than just comic relief as well, and actually do things to affect the plot and move things forward.
This is an excellent series that all fans should be reading!
This is a brilliant addition to Vader's origin. These stories feel like genuine "Star Wars" and much more authentic than the recent movies (pity this writer couldn't have been enlisted for the film's). The art, meanwhile, is fantastic.
