That's a horrible way to interrogate someone you have on the ropes. What a fucking moron. Aphra isn't really smart. Triple Zero would have done a way better job. Also that sadistic Triple Zero is super interesting, he doesn't only have the quirk of wanting to torture humans, he feels sorry for his fellow droids! I noticed this a while ago, and it made him more complicated, compassion for your kind, and sadistic disregard for the race that enslave your kind, very interesting for a robot. That detective is still proving to be a formidable challenge for Darth Vader, he needs to figure out how to get rid of him and fast. Also Aphra gained a new layer this issue, but like I said her stupid mistake evened it out, she still stands in the same place for me.
I Seriously want to see how that Droid tortures organics. So far, he is very effective in extracting information.
This issue has nothing much new that we haven't seen in the previous issues. That is not bad because Darth Vader series has been consistently good.
This should have been said earlier, but I commend how the artist Larroca effectively paints emotions in Darth Vader. You sure know when he is afraid, hiding something or being sentimental. The way he plays lights on Vader's mask and how his mask tilts give the reader an accurate picture of how Vader really feels inside.
Darth Vader #10 was a little underwhelming. It's not a bad issue, not at all, but not much really happens. Vader and his "aide" Imperial Investigator are still trying to track down the leads to the heist of the Imperial frigate, in which Vader was indirectly involved, and the cash it carried. Vader attempts to cover his tracks while the Investigator tries to uncover them. In a secondary story, Dr. Arpha finds the mortician who embalmed Queen Padme. Turns out when she was buried she was no longer pregnant. Hmmmm. This confirms Vader's view that the Emperor has lied to him and that he has a son (no mention of the daughter was made). But that is kind of it. So, while as usual, well written and beautifully drawn issue..the events are at a "build-up" stage.
This is a 3 star issue since there is not much in the way of action but bear in mind the 3 stars is relative to the action of the past issues. This is a great series and a must-read for any Star Wars fan.
I want to read about Vader. NOT..ugh. I'm tired of saying the same things over and over again. I don't like this series simply because it's not about Darth Vader.
It started out nicely and now it goes downhill.. Nope!
The artwork is great. That's what keeps me reading.
Oh well, one more chance then I'm dropping the title I guess.
Vader's adjutant is getting closer to discovering Vader had a hand in the theft of Imperial credits to fund his own private army. Vader tries to put him off the scent. Lots of enjoyable intrigue.
It was great seeing Thanoth deduce a passcode based on how sweaty buttons are. It was very exciting seeing Aphra lead revived separatist droids into Commodex Tahn's home on Naboo. BT-1 setting things on fire is just so cool! And Triple Zero's dialogue cracked me up, as did his act of shocking Tahn to death! Though the mortician does reveal that Padme was pregnant with a son and that that is all that he knows, I get the feeling that he may have known about the daughter as well. I want to know how much Bail Organa, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and/or Yoda may have told him (if they did tell him anything). In any case, I love this investigation very much. Now it looks like Vader has his sights set on killing General Karbin, who has been tasked with hunting Luke. I will not be missing Karbin when he is gone, and I wonder whether or not it was Gillen's intention to give him a displeasing design for this very reason.

The Darth Vader comics continue to be my favorite out of all o the Star Wars comics released. While Vader isn't always at the forefront, it's better that way. This is a villain who quietly does what needs to be done and when you do see him he's gathering information or plotting something. This is why he has someone working for him. Someone who isn't as bad as she wants to be, but still enjoys being bad. The two are complex characters that surround each other and offer something that neither could have had separately. He's pulling the strings, and she knows she has to die.
Just not a fan of Vader investigating his past life. It never seems right to me, and always seems like if he did a good enough job... which he should be able to do, that it'd change the events of now ESB and ROTJ would play out. So it kind of implies Vader never gets to do full informational searches and stuff. He learns about Luke, but not Leia, because.... obviously he has to find out only in ROTJ.... but it seems obvious if he could find out about Luke he could find out about Leia.... I just, this back-searching stuff never resonated with me, old canon or new.
Thanoth continues his investigations under Vader's watchful eye as Aphra undertakes a mission to Naboo.
There is a very nice scene with Aphra where we get a tiny glimpse into her past. She a pretty complex character who needs to be explored a little bit more. I want to understand more of her motivations and backstory.
Likewise, Thanoth provides a great foil for Vader here. He's actively doing his job - and doing it very well - and Vader needs to constantly maneuver to stay one step ahead of him. This constant duel is fascinating and it really intrigues me as to how Vader will find a way to outsmart one of the smartest men in the Empire.
Well Doctor Aphra certainly dove head first into her role as she now appears to fully embrace the darker side of things. I'm waiting for her to have an eventual rebellion against Vader as her moral side tries to break through.
