Maddy, Aegis, and their friends (Maddy's Cjgin - basically a magical cat - and Aegis's band members) have taken off to a mountain resort, for some R&R and performing time - for Aegis and the band, anyway; Maddy and Bubba, the Cjgin, are just chilling - until things get really chilling!

Blood Vengeance is a fast-paced little book. We get the "what really happened" from some hints dropped in the most recent novel, Maudlin's Mayhem, plus some totally new, and unexpected insight into Maddy and Aegis's personalities. It was pretty cool meeting the band members, and I hope they'll play major roles again as the series goes on. I think they could add some interesting twists to this world that's being built, so I hope they don't go back to just making cameo appearances in the novels.

My favourite part of this book was how much of her magical ability Maddy got to use. We saw her call on a bunch of her skills, and none of it felt forced. It always felt natural for Maddy to turn to her witchly abilities when things got rough (as they kept doing), not like the magic was being used just to get Maddy out of the latest pickle and keep the story moving.

Of course, Maddy does end up saving the day with her mad magic skills, and so does Bubba. (Remember? I said he was amagical cat.)

Along with awesome magic, and some truly frightening situations, this book hosts some pretty steamy moments. Maddy and Aegis really have the chemistry going on. *fans self*

If you're following this series, definitely grab this novella. It's entertainment at its best, and is pretty crucial to fully appreciating the world of those who call Bedlam home.

Reading Maudlin's Mayhem I definitely knew I needed the story that went along with it, it cleared up a few questions that I had. Even as a novella it was still action packed. I read it in about 2 hours and I cant wait to continue on.

Maddy and Aegis need a break so they take a long weekend at a mountain chalet. But when Maddy’s past comes roaring back at her in the most unexpected way, both her and Aegis find them in the fight of their lives as they deal with a revenge filled danger that is determined to put Mad Mauldin in the ground.

Wow as I continue to read this wonderful new series from Yasmine Galenorn, I am swept up with characters that continue to grow on me and steal more of my heart with each story in this series. Maddy and Aegis are becoming one of my favorite couples and I am loving finding out more about them and all their friends. I must state that BLOOD VENGEANCE takes place before book two, Maudlin’s Mayhem and right after book one, Bewitching Bedlam. It’s easier to read this right after Bewitching Bedlam and before book two. It fills in a few storyline holes that were found in Maudlin’s Mayhem. Ms. Galenorn has a lot of fun with this new world she created and filled with such wonderful cast of characters ranging from vampires, witches, fae and more. You can really sense how much fun she is having with these characters and the stories convey that completely. The story flows swiftly and kept my attention until the very end. I couldn’t keep flipping the pages on my kindle fast enough to see what would happen next for Maddy, Aegis and the gang.

BLOOD VENGEANCE introduces a new big bad in the vampire world that will worry Maddy, Aegis and the rest of the cast of characters of Bedlam. I loved finding out more about Maddy’s past and it was intriguing to find out about the oldest vampires that will cause issues for all humans and supernatural creatures in the world. The sex scenes are smoking hot between Maddy and Aegis and I swore my kindle was about to go up in flames from all the sparks these two were creating. The characters are so well written and wonderfully different. I enjoy all of them and yes even Ralph, the satyr who is determined to drive Maddy crazy. Ms. Galenorn has a wonderful way of creating some amazing characters, ones that just steal your heart and never let go. I do adore Bubba, the cjinn that leaves me wondering if I can find one on my own to the resident ghost living in Maddy;s new Bed and Breakfast. Each one of the secondary characters continue the story and I am drawn to the whole kit and caboodle of the Bewitching Bedlam series. This is truly becoming one of my favorite series from this author to date even as I await the next in her other series I adore.

If you enjoy humor, mystery, paranormal creatures, magic and mayhem in your stories then you will just love the Bewitching Bedlam series by one of my favorite authors to date. As I read each of the books in the series-full length novels and novellas, I am eager for more and more in this series. While await the next books by this author, I hope you try this series out. It is that good though I highly recommend you start from the beginning and read it to see where some things fit in and whatnot in the storyline. I am eager to see where this author goes next in the series and am eager for the next installment of Mad Mauldin and the rest of wonderful cast of characters that make up Bedlam.

This is an objective review and not an endorsement

Blood Vengeance by Yasmine Galenorn is a Bewitching Bedlam Novelette. This story falls in between Bewitching Bedlam and Maudlin’s Mayhem. In this short story Maddy and Aegis and the band are on vacation to a mountain chalet where the guys are playing. Maddy and Aegis use it as a bit of a vacation to get away from it all and take a break from the mayhem that follows them around. What they don’t expect is the danger that has stalked them there from an enemy who is as old as they come. It all begins with a mysterious note asking Aegis to meet somewhere alone. When he goes and doesn’t return in a timely manner Maddy becomes concerned and goes looking. Things only go downhill from there when an avalanche comes crashing down the mountain and snows them in.
Blood Vengeance is a short story that gives us some background on a situation that we are introduced to in Maudlin’s Mayhem. This story fills in the gaps for us and explains a lot. The story is well done and flows together nicely. Maddy and Aegis want a break from everything and just a moment to be together without danger following them. Too bad Maddy’s reputation precedes her all too well and far too wide. She is known far and wide for what she did when she was Mad Maudlin and hunting vampires. Now Maddy and Aegis must once again be on guard because more dangers will come for the things that she did so many years ago.
I enjoyed reading this book very much. It’s short and quick but engaging and enjoyable. There are some spelling errors that catch my eye though. They aren’t so egregious that they are distracting to the point of detracting from the story though. The errors are just enough to catch the eye and make you pause. One example is “If the bit was from a dog” and the other is “You hid behind the chair again.” Both words are missing the letter “e” to finish them off so that they properly fit the story. Those are the only real critiques that I have concerning this story.
This is a story that you can devour in no time and be eager for more. I look forward to reading more works from this author in the future and following the adventures of Maddy and Aegis. Despite the two minor errors, I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. It does such an excellent job filling in the gaps and answering questions. I just wish for more. If you are a fan of the Bewitching Bedlam series then grab this novelette. You won’t be disappointed.

When Maddy, Aegis, Bubba , and Aegis' band mates decided to enjoy a post New Year's Eve vacation at the Astra Alpine Chalet in the Cascade Mountains, what seems like a plan for fun and romance turn into a nightmare.
Not long after arrival, Aegis receives an anonymous letter from an unknown source asking him to meet behind the gift shop. His interest is piqued, and thinking it may just be a fan, decides to investigate.
When Aegis goes missing, she enlists his bandmates to help locate, him, which they finally do ~ with a silver spike protruding from him.
Who would want to hurt Aegis, and why?
After a magical avalanche descends upon the chalet, trapping them all there, the mystery deepens.
Who is stalking Aegis? Or Maddy? And why?
How to stop an old rival of Maddy's from destroying them all?
This short story was incredible, and explained a lot about the Arcanus Nocturni, whom we have heard mentioned in other books in the series.
Yasmine Galenorn has done it , again, as is par for the course. An amazing storyteller, that never fails to delight, enchant, and suck you in (pun intended) from the very first page.

Great short story

Blood Vengeance is a short novella from the Bewitching Bedlam series. The story is set just after New Years. When Maddy a powerful witch and former vampire hunter, Aegis, her vampire boyfriend, Bubba her cat cjinn and The Boys of Bedlam, Aegis’ band take a mini working vacation at a ski resort, they get trapped by an avalanche. Is it natural or man made? Who or what is behind it? Maddy needs to use all of her abilities to figure out what is going on before something dire happens. Will she be able to figure it out before it's too late ? I can not tell you much more, as I do not want to spoil the fun of your own discovery. I must say that this was an exciting read. If you have not yet checked out the full series, you could dip your toe in with this one. However, I really recommend that you read them from the beginning, since this is a really good book series, which is filled with magic, mystery, interesting supernatural characters and awesome storytelling.

"Blood Vengeance" is one of the novella's that takes place in between "Bewitching Bedlam, book #1" and "Maudlin's Mayhem, book #2."

When Maddy and Aegis try to escape on a mini holiday at the base of the Cascade Mountains all plans go to hell in a hand basket, as they say. Aegis' band, The Boys of Bedlam, have been invited to play at a ski chalet, and as Maddy has been in need of some rest and relaxation after the drama that took place during the opening of her bed and breakfast she decided to tag along. Things do not go as planned. In addition to an action packed mystery that has you quickly turning pages you learn some answers to questions from book one and you also get a more in depth introduction to the band members. Add in some kick-butt witch skills that we have not seen before from Maddy and this story is a hit! Don't worry, Bubba was not left at home.

Let's just say it's someone that has a grudge against the both of them for 2 different reasons. Will everyone make it out alive? Who is this person? And why do they carry this grudge? If u wanna know get urself a copy of the e short story blood vengeance by Yasmine Galenorn. And don't forget tiger tails will come out this month as will and that involves sandy.

This novelette takes place a couple of months prior to Maudlin's Mayhem, though you do not need to read it before reading Maudlin's Mayhem. This short story was great, it described Aegis and Maddy's vacation to a wintery paradise shortly after New Year's. Aegis' band The Boys of Bedlam play a few gigs at the snowy resort, Maddy and Aegis get a bit of alone time, and of course, Bubba tags along to their mini vacation. Things go smoothly until someone is hurt and another is kidnapped against their will. Maddy gets a first glimpse as to how dangerous the Arcãnus Nocturni are and what they intend to do those who threaten their existence. A great read, definitely recommend this novelette. It's short and sweet, you can probably finish it in a day or two. I look forward to more stories of Maddy and Aegis.

Boy bands and Bunny slopes...
Ok, the bunny slopes are “next door”, but that is what makes this get away so much better and supposedly more quiet. As to the boy band, we have Aegis and his guys for that. Blood Vengeance, is a short action filled and frigidly delightful novella for the Bewitching Bedlam series. Lady Yasmine does it again, I continue to fall even more for another one of her universes’ characters. Maddy, Aegis, Sandy, and of course my favorite, Bubba, are back. Maddy, Aegis, and Bubba are off to a snow lodge for some relaxation, even though Aegis has a bit of work to do. Unfortunately someone else has other items on their agenda. (I mean, not even being able to take a powder?!) I recommend reading this one to finds out what happens.

***I received a free copy of this book and this is strictly a voluntary review** What’s a vacation without a little vengeance? Aegis and Maddy are in a beautiful winter resort, with romantic views, old world charm and the whole band. Literally because Aegis band was on tour and well, beggars can’t be choosers! Maddy as usual wants to mix a little business with pleasure, and after their last adventures, they could use a break. Unfortunately, it’s an avalanche. Aegis is attacked and in a really bad situation. But it’s Maddy this time as the target.

Yasmine has indeed put another spin on the vampire myths. We discover a small and VERY scary group of original vamps that can walk in the daylight. Things are about to heat up in this Novella, as we discover a new found secret that is sure to be a main story arc in the books to come.

This was a fun novella to read between Bewitching Bedlam and Maudlin's Mayhem, giving us a bit more history of what Maddy, as Mad Maudlin, had been up to in her past.

The gang, Maddy, Aegis, Bubba and Aegis' band mates are off on a little vacation when things start to go wrong. Aegis is captured and Maddy is attacked, but who could possibly be behind all this? Who wants them both dead? When someone appears from Maddy's past, we get to find out more about what she had been doing hundreds of years ago and why!

I loved seeing Maddy's magical skill set here - she has such a great range of power, but none of it felt forced or as if she was showing off. She just is that good a witch! And the heat between Aegis and Maddy is HOT!

A fun series to read if you like witches, vampires and a lot of power!

Blood Vengeance is a short novella that should be read after Bewitching Bedlam and before Maudlin’s Mayhem.

Maddy, Bubba, Aegis and the rest of the Band taking a well-deserved mini vacation right after the New Year but cannot escape the past that is trying to catch up with them and putting them all in great danger. Will everyone make it out alive? We learn more about the night Maddy, Sandy and Fata wiped out the Vampire village centuries ago and why someone is having a grudge against Maddy and ultimately against Aegis.

This is a fast-paced novella that has all the elements that make Mrs. Galenorn’s writing so special – you live with the characters, fear for them, love with them…
So don’t miss out on this great series. If you love vampires, witches, cjinns this is the series for you.

Maddy, Aegis, Bubba and the band are on vacation! Maddy is looking forward to relaxing and cuddling with her sexy vamp when trouble strikes. Their hotel is buried in a magical avalanche and Aegis is attacked! Now they must try and help Aegis and find a way out of the hotel. Is the attacker a blast from the past? If so, whos past is coming back to bite them (hehehhe)? Will Maddy be able to keep her loved ones safe? Is the attacker a harbinger of trouble to come? This book is a fast short read that clears up a lot of questions from the previous book. it takes place just after new years. The only issue I had was that it was too short! I could read Maddy for days! Really loving this series and looking forward to more

What should have been a fun, relaxing time turns into a crazy ride for Maddy and Aegis.

A quick read that is both sexy and dangerous. Two birds with one stone as Maddy's past actions and Aegis present decisions bring forth a deadly vengeance. Strength, magic and some fast thinking make Blood Vengeance a page turner.

I loved this short story of the Bewitching Bedlam. We see the bond of Maddy and Aegis grow deeper, get a vampire history lesson and witness friendship and loyalty in the truest meaning of the word. Maddy's world is unpredictable and somewhat chaotic. I love getting lost in the pages with Maddy and her friends.

This novelette takes place a couple of months prior to Maudlin's Mayhem, though it is not necessary to read it before reading Maudlin's Mayhem. This short story was another great one. Aegis and Maddy go on vacation to a snowy resort for a bit of alone time, and of course, Bubba is with them. It doesn't turn out to be such a quiet time for them as someone gets kidnapped, someone gets tied up and left for dead and Maddy gets first hand knowledge of the Arcãnus Nocturni. Another great read, definitely recommend this novelette. It's short and sweet, you can finish it in a day or two, perhaps less as I did. I look forward to more stories of Maddy, Aegis and Bubba!

This is a wonderful short story and a great addition to the series! It tells the story of Maddy and Ageis trying to get away for a wonderful little holiday. But Maddy just can't get a break. All sorts of craziness breaks out, interrupting what was supposed to be a nice, romantic weekend. Will Maddy ever catch a break?

I have been reading this author for many years, and she never fails to disappoint. The story is brilliantly written, and I could not put the book down until I was done. This is a nice little fix for those craving more of the Bewitching Bedlam world. I highly recommend this story to those who are already reading this series. And if you haven't started the series yet, what are you waiting for?!

Don't get me wrong, I love Yasmine and her books, but I'm only on page 6 and I've already tripped over 3 major editing errors.

1) Page 1 : "Bubba has been with me for over 300 hundred years." in Book 1 Bewitching Bedlam it's mentioned a couple of times that they have been together for 75 years.
2) Page 1-2 : Maddy mentions she's changed into a flannel nightgown, then Aegis fingers her nipples through a sweater, then her boobs are being monumental in the nightgown again.
3) Page 5-6 : Anthony the bellhop becomes Edwin the bellhop after stepping out of the magical name changing elevator /s.

I don't know what happened, book 1 didn't have these issues, just because its a novella, doesn't mean it doesn't deserve an edit. :(

I absolutely adored this novella!! Blood Vengeance is set between the first and the second book of the series. Maddy, Aegis, Bubba, and Aegis’s band mates went on a vacation/semi band gig to a mountain top resort. After the band's gig was done for the night, Maddy and Aegis were having some couple time when he gets a note delivered. After that everything goes downhill, and fast. Following an avalanche and kidnapping, Maddy finds herself face to face with someone from the past. Will her and her boys get out without a mark, or will there be repercussions that haunt her. Find out in this fast paced novella. Can't wait for more of their story.

Short but sweet and pretty bad a**ed. It was refreshing to see Maddy channeling her old self, I am most definitely excited to see Mad Maudlin in action.

Though their role was short in this novelellet I always enjoy Aegis and Bubba. I love how they are overprotective with Maddy as well.

Looking forward to seeing how things go with A.N. (Also would have loved to have seen Lucifer more. he seemed so bad a**ed) Great book, loved that I finally know what happened during their vacation.

This book was great. Maddy is such a likeable character, and I love to see what trouble she can get into. Maddy, Aegis, and the band are on vacation when trouble finds them. I was excited to get a small appearance by Bubba the cjinn, and a brief snippet by Sandy. This book gives us a quick intro to a certain group that gets its intro in Maudlin's Mayhem. I was excited to see Maudlin pick up her stakes again, and be ready to become Mad Maudlin in defense of her friends. This was a short book, but totally worth the read.

This novella really answered some questions I had from Maudlin’s Mayham. It is a short read, and spicey as ever. Though I wish Yasmine had released it before book 2, I understand she has to follow her personal process of writing. However, if you have not yet read this series, or have only read book 1, Bewitching Bedlam”, I would highly recommend reading this and her other novella “tiger Tails” before reading book 2. It’ll help some of the references made make a lot more sense.

I received a free copy and this is a voluntary review. Blood Vengeance is an exciting story taking place during a Vacation that Maddy, Aegis, and Bubba go on. The story leaves you guessing on who the bad guy is until the end and it is let known. It is a really good read and it lets us see what happened during a part that is mentioned in a previous book. It is quite exciting and gives the reader something to worry about when the villain is bent on destruction. It is a must read for fans of this series! Another great addition! Absolutely loved it!

This series works best read in order

It's winter break, and I wanted a dose of escapism. This was just right. I'm glad I found (eventually) the information about the series sequence in the author's website, but I really wish I had found it before I read volume two. I'm going to get and read the whole series. It's nice to have something entertaining and grown up to read that isn't exhausting and triggery. It can be a tricky tightrope, but Yasmine Galenorn does this well.

I enjoyed reading about Maddy’s & Aegis’s adventures!

I had wondered about what had transpired when Maddy & Aegis met up with the vampires who could walk in daylight. This book answered all my questions! I truly am enjoying this entire series! Yasmine Galenorn is fast becoming one of my favorite authors! Her characters are so much fun and interesting (even the regular “bad guys”, like Essie and each book gives the reader something new to think about!

I love the Bewitching Bedlam series and this novella gives us a little taste of relaxed Maddy and Aegis, well at least for a little bit. I liked that we got more of an introduction to the band. Blood Vengeance by Yasmine Galenorn is #1.5 in the Bewitching Bedlam Series.

Mad Maddie and Aegis go on vacation with Bubba ("Rub ma belleh!") the cjinn, when Aegis receives a mysterious note and leaves to investigate. Maddie knows something is wrong, and follows.

This wonderful short story moves quickly with danger around very corner. Solid 5-star read.

This is a great short story in the Bewitching Bedlam series. Maddy, Aegis, and Bubba go on a little vacay. Of course it's not relaxing... The past does not stay in the past and we get a glimpse of the Nocturi and their history with Maddy. I love this series and just wish this story was longer!!!
