I have several quart bags of frozen blueberries from our bush last summer. Before I went to the store yesterday, I looked for a new recipe and found 'Blueberry Brownies' in Baking Chocolate Cupcakes and Brownies: A Beginner's Guide. I needed a few of the ingredients that I added to the grocery list and this morning we woke up to a snowy yard and a plan to make brownies to give the house a warm and friendly smell. This is a great way to spend a day inside and we just had the brownies after our soup and sandwich lunch. They were wonderful.
I liked how the book was organized with a list of equipment needed, and the index of where to find the things not often found in our rural local grocery stores. One of our biggest problems is finding the unique ingredients in some recipes that we do not have locally in our rural area, so this is a great resources.
I really did not care for this book but I could not justify a one star rating because the title states it is a beginner's guide. The recipes were sparse as it had more general information and I did not find anything of value that would justify keeping the book. That being said, someone new to baking would probably benefit from the contents.
Variety is the spice of life, also in the love of chocolate and cupcakes and brownies. Several recipes to my liking some not every one sounds bake able will do so soon Recommended Highly
