Arrrr.... there be pirates! Loved this simple text, with wonderful illustrations. Loads of detail to keep even the most hardened landlubbers interested. Stories, histories and famous piratical characters from all around the world are featured (more than just the Caribbean!) - as well as descriptions of life as a pirate... and how you might end up! Corsairs, Privateers, Pirates and SeaBeggars... Loved it!
Some awesome illustrations! I totally never knew about privateers being the legal forerunners to pirates - that's nuts! Organized geographically instead of chronologically, which was cool, but it was hard to know what happened when. Maybe a timeline wouldn't have gone astray?
