An emotional standalone romance featuring Blake Pryce-Reed.
One thing I've never lacked in life is money. I was born to it. I've made it hand over fist. I have more than I know what to do with.
But all that money couldn't give me Faith Mortimer, a damaged heiress with secrets of her own. I found her irresistible two years ago, and would've laid my empire at her feet...until she betrayed me.
Now she barges into my office, offering marriage, ostensibly to help me fulfill the conditions of my father's hateful deal. Although I toss her out, I'm curious. Once I realize how desperate she is, I make a counteroffer that leaves her vulnerable and defenseless.
However, I never counted on my own machinations leaving me exposed in return...and both our hearts are going to break before this is over...
Bilingual former management consultant Nadia Lee has lived in four different countries and enjoyed many adventures and excellent food around the globe. In the last eight years, she has kissed stingrays, got bitten by a shark, and petted tigers.
She shares an apartment overlooking a river and palm trees in Japan with her husband, winter white hamsters and an ever-widening pile of books. When she's not writing, she can be found digging through old Asian historical texts or planning another trip.
This was ok, but all the drama could've been avoided had the MCs just told each the truth and been willing to make themselves vulnerable. In other words, if they were willing to communicate, this could've been a novella. However, I appreciate how Nadia Lee is able to tell a compelling story, without including any OP drama. Nice and safe.
As long as you are writing books and inviting me to live precariously through other's love lives, I am not going to be able to get a good night's sleep. My kids whine for food, hubby wants to snuggle and yet you keep writing and I keep reading. All jokes aside, the writing is easy to read, the stories flow, each character fully formed, the stories are in depth and the length is good for a "long enough to submerge into the plot" kind of book. I have read A LOT of your books and have yet to find one I can't get into or don't enjoy. Thank you
I truly loved this book in the series, Blake and Faith's story, and read it almost straight through. Blake and Faith have a history: she was his first love, the one that walked away to marry someone else for money. When she re-enters his life with an offer to marry him for $100,000 so that he can collect his portrait he isn't kind. Money again with her. Faith is desperate for money, but not for herself. She calls herself a fool for even thinking about seeking out Blake. He did his damnedest to humiliate her for her effort. So, when he contacts her to agree to her suggestion, she's floored. But she hasn't any other options. She can stick out this business arrangement for a year, can't she? Never mind that Blake is the only man she's ever loved but who wasn't there for her when she most needed him, or that she has secrets that she doesn't want him to know. I received this ARC for an honest review.
This review is from: A Final Deal (Blake & Faith Standalone) (Billionaires' Brides of Convenience Book 8) (Kindle Edition) I volunteered to read an Advance Reader Copy of this book and to submit an honest review.
Blake Reed and his siblings are being coerced into getting married to fulfill the stipulation of their Grandfather's will/inheritance to them. Blake has 2 months to find and marry though he looks at the nuptials as a business deal that will conclude in a divorce after one year.
Faith Mortimer and Blake had a relationship starting two years ago which ended when Faith married for money in order to pay her Mom's medical bills - she's currently in a hospice slowly dying from a brain tumor. She is now a widow and in financial straits thanks to her dead husband's family. ' Faith goes to see Blake; she has heard rumors regarding the marriages of the siblings. She offers to be Blake's wife; the money he will give her will help her Mom.
Sparks re-ignite between Blake and Faith;although neither one wants to acknowledge their feelings and be hurt again. I highly recommend reading A Final Deal to follow along with the roller coaster of emotions. This book is a HEA and I admit I cried.
I’m must say that I am disappointed in the portrayal of the female love interest. I hated her I think she was just too vapid and selfish. Her character was disgusting. She was a user, and I hated her. Nowhere in this work do I find any redeeming qualities that she has. She has not educated herself. She has not put herself out there for him. She didn’t fight for him yet he’s falling head over heels or somebody who can’t walk two to feet spit on him if he were on fire. It was such an an even lopsided relationship. She wanted everything, and if he didn’t give it, she was gonna marry whoever to get what she wanted. What did she give in return because she didn’t even give him her love. Hate her. What a bitch.
Okay, I am officially ADDICTED to this family. The Reeds and the Pryces are my new guilty pleasure. Blake and what shaped him have been a mystery until now and I'm so glad that his part in this saga finally got told. Nadia Lee has done a wonderful job of showing all facets of the main family members in these books. I've been reading them non-stop for days and look forward to Elizabeth's story. Is it terrible to say that I am upset that I have to go to work and can't read now? I have lost sleep, because of these stories. Seeing the pride, passion, struggles, and joys has been an amazing ride!
Blake finally finds his love, although it has been delayed over 2 years by misunderstanding, lack of faith, desperation, and inability to communicate!. Faith, the woman with whom he fell in love, reappears in his life, an impoverished widow needing money for her dying mother. Faith proposes a marriage for a year between them to fulfill his father's ridiculous demands. This i
I love that Blake turned out to be a decent guy, unlike his d-bag cousin Dane...man I don’t like that guy! I definitely think this one was a bit sadder than the other books in the series, but still a fantastic ending. Looking forward to starting Elizabeth’s story next!
This was a really emotional read. Dane and Faith internalized so much of their mutual feelings. So happy neither gave up and they received their HEA. Who blackmailed Julian Reed and what about Elisabeth?
Of all 8 books this is by far my favorite, I identify with Faith so much all the lies all the hurt I laughed so much also just another great book from Nadia Lee can’t wait to finish all her other books because I have to know it all 🤷🏻♀️❤️
I can't imagine this ending any other way. Blame and Faith, a love story for the ages. It's like watching two bulls in one cage, who end up realizing they don't have to fight, they have to work together and just communicate.
How could someone as sweet and caring fall for the spoiled hateful person. All thru this book I was telling Faith to run for the hills and get away from Blake. But the love they had finally brought them together. Great work, again!!
I don't like it when Authors go out of their way to establish a female character as bad. She could've left it at the old white dude being unintentionally racist but no. She had to write a redemption arc that absolutely tramples on a perfectly good mother.
Wonderful series. Finally Blake's story. Nice to see the woman he fell for. Tough times, lies, and secrets. No cliffhanger and hea. No cliffhanger and hea. Great author.
Have continued reading about this family, now time for Elizabeths story, although would still like to read about Salazars story, but I hope to be able to read about that sometime soon Nadia pleasd???
The lovely ladies are so sweet and have to deal with the big broody men. They do eventually pull their heads out of their rear ends and have a happily ever after.
Thank Goodness, this was not a cliffhanger. One book was able to sufficiently tell the story of Blake and Faith. I appreciated this, as the previous love stories in this series were 2 or 3 books long, often with the same “sex moves” described over and over. I admit I wasn’t sure I would like the eldest Pryce-Reed sibling, as he hasn’t come across too nice in the other books. Blake isn’t as wild or a womanizer like Ryder and Elliot, though he shares their passion for booze. He certainly doesn’t have Elizabeth’s kind-soul, nor the vulnerability of Lucas. Blake is business-minded and more serious than his younger brothers and sister. At times Blake can be ruthless. That trait comes from his father or maybe from hanging out too often with his closest friend Dane. His cousin, Dane, has a reputation of being cold and callous. Even so, I found Blake more likable than I thought I would. Certainly no saint, as he can be very harsh, especially with his words. He was down-right detestable with Faith the day she visited him at his office. Faith, like Ava ( Lucas’ wife), kept secrets from Blake. In Faith’s defense, she never promised truthfulness. I didn’t feel the chemistry between Blake and Faith immediately, nor do I think they did either. They were a means to a end for each other- a business deal. Old feelings they shared emerged, and I was all in for a true reunion and a real marriage for this couple. There are some twists that adds to the enjoyment this book. The readers are introduced to a mysterious Russian, I think will play a part in Elizabeth’s story.
Faith mother was dying. She needed money for her mother's treatment. Jack her late husband cunningly intercepted Blake's help through Elizabeth's foundation. So Blake's plan to propose to her after 1 month failed. He thought her mother died. 2 years later, after Jack died and Faith was slandered of having and affair with con artist, she went to propose to marry Blake for 100k. Blake initially humiliated her but then agreed. They got along and became intimate again. When Simone, Jack's sister told Blake that Faith was an unworthy whore, he got Elizabeth's PI to investigate Faith. He put two and two together and found out that Faith had miscarriages his baby. He went AWOL while Faith was alone going through her mother's death. Faith and Benedict solved their misconception and Blake courting her again by sendingbl flowers every morning after breakfast and whispering I Love You to her. He even bought her dream house based on Alice, her mother had told him. 😻
