As per usual for a Foxtrot collection, some of these are ehhh, most are funny, and the one about wanting a Star Destroyer for Christmas is incredibly relatable. Basically, if you like Foxtrot or slice of life comics with a side of nerd, it should be a fun time.
Bill Amend simply understands the relationship between siblings better than most comic strip artists. His characters are stereotypical, without being confined. From the health-nutty mom and the fashion-less father, to the older brother with a bottomless pit for a stomach, the sister with 20,000 different blue sweaters, and the nerdy little boy with his pet iguana, these books afford effortless material that makes for entertaining bedtime reading. :-)
A very enjoyable Foxtrot collection. I particularly enjoy the Fox Family Goes to Washington series, with the Vietnam memorial one always tugging at my heartstrings each time I read it. I also love Jason & Marcus playing their version of fantasy football. Now, ~that's~ a football game I could be interested in. :)
Bill Amend is a great comic strip creator! His work is filled with ordinary family life and that's what makes it so great. Daily sibling rivalry, marriage obsticles, and family life is just some of the themes that he portrays in his work. A great laugh for anyone to enjoy.
The Fox family takes a vacation to Washington DC in this collection of daily and Sunday comic strips. Peter must wear a Garfield suit at his summer job in the multiplex.
