Crazy about dinosaurs, a boy and his dog imagine they see one under every lump of snow until the day they get a big surprise. Includes an illustrated glossary listing various dinosaurs and their characteristics.
We love Dinosaur Day in our family! It is an almost wordless book that allows for the parent and child to engage in back and forth about the story. Super cute. My son and daughter make me read through the list of dinosaurs at the end, and this winter even ran around our house and back yard playing "Dinosaur Day". A very sweet book!
Silly, nearly-wordless story about a kid who thinks he sees dinosaurs everywhere he goes, until one day... The wording that insists that dinos aren't real and only exist in the imagination is awkward, though. Obviously they were once real.
Not much to read here, I think there were 3 full sentences? Maybe 4? Lots of full page pictures. And the phrase: "Dinosaurs aren't real except in books and in your mind?" That's badly worded because a child will think they never existed. Right? Not that they did, but went extinct?
This book, with it's limited words and exploration of the city in its drawings would make a great book for younger elementary students to look through.
The story follows a young boy and his dog as they look for dinosaurs in the city. However, when they find one, it's not what they expect.
I think it would be a fun book for those learning to read to look through because the pictures tell most of the story, but there are still simple words that they can read. It's especially a great book for that dinosaur fan in your classroom, especially since there are so many other books in this series to read.
This book has few words, and the story is told through the fun illustrations. My kids liked guessing what object was under the snow on every page! Very fun, 5 stars for lots to talk about.
we read this as an illustrated audio book during the Covid-19 quarantine.
