There are few things I appreciate less than buying a book and finding out it is pretty much an infomercial - an introduction that 'gives' a few things but with a continual upsell behind it. In this case, to give you some recipes and a meal plan and then continually encourage you pay for a subscription on her website or even buy the author's prepackaged food products. As well, the information presented here is nothing new: eat less sugar, avoid prepackaged products, eat better, not less. This is information I've read in nearly every diet/nutrition book I've read recently.

The book sets out through a LOT of anecdotes from the author's clients that you need to eat continually (not fast at all) in order to get your metabolism running optimally. It's an interesting contrast to the fast diets that suggest not eating a whole day does that exact same thing and also detoxes your system. But there are more testimonials than actual data - a fluffy approach to dieting.

The recipes all suggest a lot of sugar taste - using Stevia, which doesn't affect the glycemic load. The problem that I've found with that is that the taste of sugar makes me crave it all day. The only way to get rid of the sugar craving was to NOT sweeten everything. So I found that I couldn't use many of the recipes as presented because they relied on Stevia in many instances for sugary taste. The minute I started cooking the recipes and sweetening, I was craving sugary items all day and was miserable.

To find ideal weight goals, there is a lot of odd math that uses BMI as a base and then subtracting and adding based on height, etc. There were several in there like that and depending on your answer, you chose one of three meal plans (some needed more weight off, some less, for example). I have to admit I found it quite silly.

The recipes aren't formatted and pretty much look they were randomly thrown on the paper. You'll get nicer examples with your subscription to her website, of course, but not with the book.

In all, this felt genuine but misinformed and more like a marketing tool than an actual plan. At least the author didn't put items in her recipes (such as 'taste modifiers) that you can only get through purchase on her website. But in all, I was greatly disappointed here - it was fluff like you'd get from an enthusiastic but misguided friend who just got into selling cosmetics and wants you to buy her products, whether they are really effective or not. Reviewed from an advance reader copy provided by the publisher.

The author seemed very personable and confident in her message (sometimes a little on the forceful side). I realize some people might respond to that delivery, but I always question those tactics because it came across as "trying too hard". Now even with that being said, I liked that she also seemed knowledgeable in this field and presented her plan well. But unfortunately, this felt a little long and it was almost like reading a workbook. Maybe listening to the audio, amplified that. So if the title sounds good to you, read the book and maybe skip the audio.

Pomroy has some good advice on how to battle weight loss. The reason I gave her book two stars and not one star is because there were great recipes in her book. There were parts of the book where she wrote her own personal rants about things, which is fine. My problem with parts of the book was there were no credible evidence to support her arguments or that HER science was true. Where is she getting her information from? Is her science correct or she spreading false information? Those were my concerns with this book.

Seriously, I totally believe this plan would work. However, my husband and I got the stuff for the first three days and our cart was loaded with a ridiculous amount of produce. The sheer amount of vegetables you would have to eat is insane! I did lose weight the days I did the plan, but I couldn't keep up with the prep.

This book was crap! Not based off of science or backed up by a Dr. It might be a nice pat on the back for taller over weight people, but I am 5 feet tall... So basically I have 5 lbs ideal weight range. But my husband has over 84 lbs of ideal weight range. Not sure where this lady pulled numbers from, but I don't think anyone should trust the info in this book.

This book is just a money grab for people desprate and willing to pay to lose weight. This book feels like an infomercial. And the website is not informative, it is a shopping center.

The aproved food list is fine. But I have never seen a diet book that is such bad advice. I have been studying diet, exercise, and the human body for over 25 years. I read because I love the topic and love to learn. I am so disappointed that someone would prey on people who are trying to better themselves.

I have been on Haylie's FMD for 3 years now and feel so much better. I sleep better and my hot flashes have gone away. One thing I struggle with are the phases that are a little restrictive like phase 2 where it is only protein and veggies. That is where the Revolution comes in. After reading this book, I think it is a better fit for me. I like all the food on the plan and I like that I will be eating protein, veggies, fruit, grain and fats every day. I look forward to seeing how this transforms my life.

I read the hardbound book. There was only the audiobook as a selection here.

It works! I lose about a lb a day without an added exercise routine.

Being a health professional, I am in total agreement with her rationale and interpretation of how to work with the body chemistry. This makes the diet work with minimal negative effects on long term usage.

So I kind of just skimmed this. I pulled out a few good recipes and some advice, but most of it wasn’t for me. Too many meals plans with things I’m allergic to. Might be a solid book for others though.

I’m excited to get started! We’ll see what the next two weeks hold.

Update:
I lost 7 pounds over the course of two weeks and I enjoyed all of the recipes that I chose to make. All of the prep is a TON of work though.

I read horrible reviews about this book and I can say that I read really horrible diet books before, this one is not that bad.
People said that the authors were selling their products which is not true at all! They mentioned in a very few times and obviously a lot of people need more guidance in their processes, so, having those extra tools could be very helpful.
They provided a lot of examples, so, just skip those do not apply to you. I did a diet based on this program two years ago -now, I know- and I can say that you will feel like brand new.
I enjoyed the book, obviously it’s not a Novel book but you can understand easily the program. If you don’t understand, it’s not the author, is you.

This book permanently ruined my enjoyment of sweet peppers. Also, it is literally impossible to lose 14 pounds in two weeks and not regain it, especially given that this eating plan would be completely unsustainable beyond the program. In fact, there’s a good chance one could gain back more than they lost.

Interesting approach with detailed instructions. I feel the whole-30 approach to healthy eating and diagnosing your potential allergic issues was much more sensible, and doable - much easier plan to follow.

I liked the three plans suggested based on your weight and how much you need or want to lose. She includes foods I’ve never heard of and don’t even know where to buy, so I did learn some new nutritional info. If you aren’t ready to change your actual life though, then this may not work for you.

Good ideas. It's a bit too much of cooking right now for everything that I'm doing. The breakfasts and dinners sound yummy. The lunches are a little boring and things I wouldn't eat. The author lists food that are allowed and then mentions turkey bacon and chicken sausage. These above mentioned foods are not on the allowed list. Are there other foods that are allowed but not mentioned? I might give it a go next week. I just went shopping and will not waste food.
