An unwanted marriage turns tragic.

Raymond, Viscount Marblethorpe, eldest son to Elisa and stepson to Vaughn Wardell, casts off the solitary confines of a mourning widower to seek the company of his extended family.

His sharp-eyed cousins and siblings refuse to let him lie to himself, even if he must deceive the ton to save the family from yet another scandal.

The Rose of Ebony novelette is an introduction to the spin-off series following the historical romances of Scandalous Sirens.  Scandalous Scions brings together the members of three great families, to love and play under the gaze of the Victorian era’s moralistic, straight-laced society.

A Sexy Historical Romance

Praise for Rose of Ebony

This is a good start to a new series.

I love reading any story Tracy Cooper-Posey writes. This one grabbed my attention and I couldn't put it down until I was done.

Oh, how I wish this story was longer; goes without saying that I'm grabbing book two in the series.

I love Victorian London books and this one was read with great expectations for a wonderful story, and it did not disappoint.

Another great series is starting and it looks like it will be great just like all the other series by this author.

Wow, As soon as I started Tracys Cooper Posey first book in her new spin off series Scandalous Scions I was hooked.

Thank you Tracy for introducing me to this wonderful series.

Ok here goes again! I never expected Tracy to leave me perched on the edge of a cliff, but she has succeeded.

Having not read any historical romances before, I was amazed how quickly I immersed into this novella. Tracy describes the setting so beautifully that the imagery takes you back to that era in the past where traditions are so different from today.

What an intriguing beginning to this series! There are a number of mysteries to solve and all linked to Raymond, Viscount Marblethorpe. Who sent him the black rose after his wife’s death and who is Susanna? There was a great sense of family love and caring for one another in an unusual relaxed family. I’m more than ready to read the next book.

Very short novelette with very little except a hot sex scene.

This isn't a stand alone - just a small snippet of a short story before it suddenly stops - so on to the next book I guess. Excellent writing.

Not a book

When I downloaded I thought this was a complete book. It is not. It is a very short intro for another book.

In this first of a brand new series (Scandalous Scions) we have a man who has recently lost his wife, a wife he didn't love, and finds himself tired of following convention by continuing a long mourning period. So, much to the pleasure of his large family, he's decided to attend a regular family gathering. Shortly after his arrival he receives a black rose (his deceased wife was named Rose); a rose that those he ask did not sent; our first mystery. At first it appears that he has liaison with a secret lover, but appearances can be deceiving. We have another mystery here as it appears that there is someone he loves. I loved the historical accuracy of the times, making his actions feel quite scandalous. But surrounded by the love and closeness of the family you tend to forget that he defies convention in more ways than one. The story ends with his frustration and trying to soothe it with another dalliance. Oh, how I wish this story was longer; goes without saying that I'm grabbing book two in the series. I recommend this book and new series to lovers of historical romances that includes mystery and sensual pleasures.

Sweet intro to series, about angsty H and the woman he loves, and can't have. It's steamy even as he grieves the loss of his young wife. Loved this sweet novella, BUT it really only makes sense by reading the next book.

Intense, raunchy and intriguing!
A quick and tantalising immersion into the historical world of regency England but it's not your average historical romance at all! Tracy Cooper-Posey introduces us to a complex and sexy masculine character but we are only teased with hints of the delicious details in this delightful but short prequel to the new Scandalous Scions series.

This novel starts out like any other traditional historical romance with beautiful descriptions such as the house, the proper butler and the social restrictions of the times. It's when the characters take a sudden detour into a sexy scene that the reader's interest is piqued and hints of some of the complex layers of the main male character are revealed.

I can't wait to treat myself to the next instalment so I'm going to immerse myself in the original Scandalous Sirens series in the meantime…

A Delightful Glimpse of Intrigue yet to Come

We meet Raymond as he goes to his family's annual gathering. For a time each year both adult and child will mix despite the traditions of the ton.

Raymond should be in mourning, as his wife has died. It was a loveless marriage and the constraints of London have become too much. At the family home he is allowed a distraction.

Short teaser of what is yet to come... Written in typical Cooper-Posey flair; we relate to each character and get glimpses of the mystery and intrigue to come.

I find it hard to give a complete, honest review of what I read. This is a very short, novella prelude to the Scandalous Sirens series by Tracy Cooper-Posey. I have read other, full-length offerings by Ms. Cooper-Posey which were greatly enjoyed, but this short novella left me wondering. Obviously, the main character is in mourning. He joins extended family members at an annual gathering. He engages in a steamy tryst. There is some mystery involved. The author provided a preview of the subsequent work in the series. I almost wish I would have started out with the first full offering in the series and skipped this prelude. Just too short and confusing.

The Great Gathering rocks!

I have a feeling the Scandalous Scions series is going to take over my reading life. I love the setting, the characters, the family, the plot. In short everything. It is such a deep heartfelt pleasure to spend time with so many book friends. Tracy Cooper-Posey deserves heaped praise!

Good

Raymond married out of duty. His wife died and he has a heir. He wished he loved her the way a man is supposed to love a woman.

He loves another.

It was to short.
Cliffhanger.

This book is scandalous. A prequel to the series Scandalous Scions, Rose of Ebony is an historical tale with a twist. I was shocked and scandalised. I can't wait to read book 1 in the series.

Rose of Ebony

Too short for me to get interested in. I don't know if I would like the books or not. Don't think I will be buying any other books in this series.

This was a chapter, not a novella. BUT, after reading the next book in the series, this was perfectly written to entice me to read the next book in the series. . . . . AND I AM SO HAPPY I DID, because it was amazing. This is a great place to begin a beautiful series.

This is my first time reading Ms. Posey and with the little that was written here shows promise. I’m excited to see how the teasers turn out. R. K. Hanson

A good introduction but too short, I really wanted to keep reading, and that led me to buy the first book in the collection... I guess it was the perfect teaser...
