This book should have a sticker that reads, "For HUGE Civil War buffs ONLY." It is no doubt interesting, but I have never seen so many esoteric facts about the Civil War in one place. It as if the author expects the reader to know all of the major generals, battles, etc. in advance.

That being said, there are some great tidbits in here about everything you can possibly think of in relation to the conflict. It is set up in a "Q and A" fashion, but it is kind of ridiculous because the reader will almost never guess the right answer!

Pretty good trivia book about the Civil War; there were several facts that I didn't know (although many Civil War buffs will probably already know most of the answers). I did find a couple errors, such as Stonewall Jackson's supposed fondness for lemons (discussed in James I. Robertson's biography) and that the Army of the Potomac lost 7,000 men in only eight minutes at Cold Harbor.

While full of interesting stories and the like, this volume is not well put together and lacks definition despite its obvious and interesting subject.
