Read for my toddler's bedtime. Good easy to understand facts about Arctic and Antarctic. Location people and animals.

Very simple - nice for beginning readers, but I think some of the information presented has been so simplified that it's hard to follow. It talks about reindeer after polar bears and before Antarctica - so they must be Arctic. Got it. Down South, it covers penguins (explicitly saying Antarctic) and then whales and seals (found in multiple places), and then aurora...which are at both poles, but the book doesn't say so. So while there IS good information, it gets a little muddled in translation.

We all know why this book was titled as it was--"Frozen" is an instant attention-grabber for the kiddie set. That said, this book is a colorful and appealing introduction to the Arctic and Antarctic for kids just beginning to read independently. A variety of animals, people, and environments are shown in large photos. It will be hard to close this book without being intrigued by the real-life "Frozen."

Read at the zoo as I was dressed as Elsa. It's a pretty simple, yet informative book. The photographs are beautiful and really enhance the story. There are some great text features that will help young readers understand the ideas in the text better (inserts, bold print, etc. )

Gorgeous photography, lively descriptions and simple sentences for beginning readers - level 1. Covers select animals, people, and environment (icebergs, sea, rocky shore, auroras - night lights, etc.) of the Arctic and Antarctic regions.
I enjoyed this book.

Great facts for young minds, but I take issue with Level 1 Reader as the words are too cumbersome for a self-reader or for a L1 reader to want to actually try to practice. BUT, the info is fine to teach any age. Art/Pictures are amazing and print-size is perfect.
